Hey, I just bought an Acer Aspire AX1800 E5200 brocante slimline desktop computer since it was flea market I wanted to wipe it to factory, so I could start over, in any case, I thought id a back up just in case he went sour (innocent'myass cover) however end 80 percent to save the computer restarted and then a black screen comes up saying "BOOTMGR missing press ctrl alt. , Del to restart ".and say now every start I FINALLY tried to put windows 7 or 8 on it (its runnin Vista Home Basic), but given what happened to im thinking I could just finish nd done with, tell me there's a very easy way to fix."

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

You need to reinstall the operating system with a computer, second hand that you don't know what it was used for, legally or illegally.

With an Acer press you left ALT F10 to start the recovery process.

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

Use the following steps to start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. After that the Acer eRecovery Management application is loaded, select your type of restore.
    5. Read the review and then click Next when you are ready.
    6. Click next to start the restore process. Restoration can last from 10 minutes up to an hour.
    7. Once the recovery is complete your computer will load Windows and start the installation of your software and drivers. Your computer may restart several times during this process. Once they are all completed, your computer will be like it was when you bought it first.

If the steps above do not work, you will need to use recovery media to restore your system.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks (if they still...

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • resarioCQ61 poster: BOOTMGR is press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart

    Hello!

As a result of all the information provided online, I tried system restore and system diagnostics. I made a short and long test and my computer says "HDD full 1 (305).
Any ideas where I can go from here? HP says I have to buy a recovery disc for £35, but I hope that there is another way.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

If you burn your Recovery DVD set, probably the best option is to order them from HP.

An alternative_ so you can read the 25 character Microsoft Windows 7 license key attached to the bottom of the laptop, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD, the version must match that on the sticker COST Microsoft.

    Hello

You try to install Windows XP on the computer?

BootMGR is not part of Windows XP. This is the file of boot loader for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    Method 1:

If you try to install Windows XP, you can go ahead and try to reinstall Windows XP from the CD and check if that helps.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/978307

Note: perform a clean install only if you have no data on the hard drive.

    Method 2:

See the article and check if that helps:

  • Equium A100-549 - reading disc error occurred press ctrl + alt + delete to restart

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Equium a100-549, about 3 years, Windows XP Home Edition.
Everything worked very well so far. When starting my computer, I received the message:

A disk read error occurred press ctrl + alt + delete
I don't want to lose my data

Please please I need some advice what to do

    Kind regards
    AGM

    > I don't want to lose my data

Well. Everyone knows that a HARD disk problem can happen and all of a sudden you may lose all the data stored on the HARD drive.
That is why it s always recommended to backup the data on additional HDD, DVD, etc.

I'm not sure if this will help but try this:
Try to boot from the disk Win XP (NOT the Toshiba Recovery disk) and press r. means repair and should start the repair console.
The similar DOS window should open and there, you can use a command:
    CHKDSK drive/p/r

The chkdsk command checks the specified drive and repairs or recovers the drive if the drive requires it.

More details can be found here:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314058

If that does not help, then you need to reinstall new OS.

You can reset your BIOS to default values?

Try these free diagnostics, bootable (if it is able to boot from a disk): http://www.carrona.org/initdiag.html

You have a recovery disc for this system?  If this isn't the case, you can ask the manufacturer?  (Only if you can boot from the disks, because who's going to need)

  • Disc error occurred press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart

We have a HP Touchsmart 310-1020 PC.  Operating system Windows 7, we received the disk read error occurred press ctrl alt del to restart after idle computer and my husband has rebooted the computer several times.

We don't have a recovery disk.  I ran the diagnostic tool (F9), and all.

I can not enter F11 - the computer makes a weird staticy noise and does nothing

I can enter the configuration, but have no idea what to change even if I read a number of articles about similar problems with other computers.  No Council does seem the choice that I have on this computer.

I unplugged all the cables, including the power cable (there is no external battery).  I pressed the power button for 15 seconds and reconnected the computer.  It does not seem to do anything.

    All advice is appreciated.

A disk read error is normally an indication of a failure of hard disk that requires a replacement of the hard disk with a new one.

I recommend that you buy a USB usb HP recovery media to restore the operating system of your PC to its previous state useful when you replace the hard drive. You will need an office a SATA hard drive no more than 2.2 terabytes. The storage capacity of the original hard drive was 750 GB. This title is so much easier to find in stores or online websites.

You should have a support of recovery recovery drive series four years ago, when you set up the PC. The initial configuration for the PC software asked one who walks it if they were ready to make a record of retrieving the value.

When you the first pwr, access the bios, the drive is detected?

If so try restarting disk 1 and see if it will be complete, if it is still fails, then visit www.memtest.org and download/create memory test utility, then boot the pc with this and test memory for at least 1 hour or until you get any failure
