My printer is very slow

It was fery work well but I was forced to reinstall Win7 and does not print the printer with the new drivers

with the old speed. I'm not "understand the rason. This medication seems ok, but any page need 5 minuts.

Big Bob!

Then I tried to remuve the black one and the printer (deskjet 3000 J310) works very well. Once the

Black print cartridge seems that everithings works well.

I do not understand the reason, but now I know that the problem is correlated with the cartridges.

Thank you very much Bob if the problem persists I will change both cartridges.

I got this printer from 2007, when I had problems I uninstall and install the product and upggrates, but the last 3 weeks after I change the slow start print cartridges and print any of this, communication to align to print is so slow that the printer seems impossible... Hopefully I'll find solutions. If not... problably I need to give a way. My printer is connect to my Hp before Clubhouse worked very well.

This is caused by the failure of one of your cartridges.  I don't know if the F300 will print in ink backup mode, but try the following: remove the black print cartridge and print a test page.  The printer prints at a normal speed?  Is therefore the black cartridge was the issue and needs to be replaced.  If it isn't then, put the black back cartridge in and remove the color cartridge and the test page printed.  If the printer now prints speed the color cartridge is responsible and must be replaced.

  • Vintage Laserjet 6 p/MP very slow-Postscript

    Hello

    material

    ThinkPad R60 W7

Tosh Tecra M10 W7 with docking station

    Wired network

LaserJet 6 p - MP related to USB to 36 pin Cable form base of printer.

Printing is fine but graphic printing is very slow.

If I use the printer PCL (e.g. laserjet 6 p) driver graphic print very well.

    There seems to be two solutions;

    1. can I force the postscriupt driver to send a PCL?

    2. how to install a second printer driver pointing to the same printer?

I tried to use another USB (work queued sticks)

I tried using the same USB port, but then that a printer is visible on the network to the other PC.

OK - progress of a sort.
I have now two printers (6 p and 6MP postscript) under the same icon in printers and devices. Only one name is visible until you select an option as the printer preferences when both become visible.
Both are shared under different names; both are visible in applications (such as Word), and the two actually work! (although I have no easy way to determine whether it is PS and the other PCL printing)

Now to the R60 on the network. There is no HP printers connected to
Add a printer - network printer and postscript times 6 p and 6MP are visible (!) and surprisingly (!) both work.

I say surprisingly because I've been here before and NEVER seen elsewhere. I clearly need to have done something different although God knows what!

In any case, for any other interested person,

It seems that yo will only get a second USB if yo unplug in (what windows thinks) another USB printer

So to designate two drivers printer to a single USB port (and therefore a single printer), the process seems to be
    Host machine
1 plug in USB printer and let, it installs a port USB call this printer check print test works
2 Add Printer n & B, select the printer that you want to use any port you like (e.g. file), complete the installation
    3. do printer n & B properties and change the port to the same printer port.
4 in devices and printers name may have changed, but when you select Properties, you should see the two names (A and B)

5 check test print works for both.

A you have shared two printers, the two should be available on the network and one, the other or both are available to add to another machine on the network.

Sounds so easy - why I lose a few days of my life to find it!

  • Very slow printing

I just changed 3 6 ink cartridges in my printer Photosmart D 7460. Now it is printing very slow... takes about 02:00 for a single page to print.

    Any Suggestions?

Yes - unplugging / plugging, power/power on, reset and check the contact points in copper - thanks for the link - it works beautifully now!

  • My printer prints very slow

I have a Deskjet 6940. It had been printing very quickly, but is now barely mobile. I don't know if something has changed in my system or what. I even rebooted the SW. I have it configured for Fast project but it chugs along. Not at all as if it were before.

I need help because I print every day a lot and need to print quickly.

    Thank you.

The printer print a Windrow, then wait 10 to 15 seconds before the next swath?  If so, then one of the cartridges may have failed.  To troubleshoot this remove cartridges and try to print reserve mode.  If this prints to the near normal speeds then the cartridge you removed must be replaced.  If the printer is still very slow, and then replace the original cartridge and remove the cartridge on the other.  If it prints at a normal speed, then the cartridge that you deleted now is at fault.

(Note: when printing text in view of reserve with a cartridge installed color printing will be a little slower than normal, but not very slow.)

  • DeskJet 2544: hp deskjet 2544 suddenly prints very slow but quickly copies

I have had this printer for about 6 months.  Things were very good.  Recently, it started very slow printing.  I read it could be weak cartridges so even if they had both ink, I replaced the.  I have nothing but HP used since the beginning. I noticed that she copy quickly, but print very, very slowly.  Any suggestions? It has been connected wireless but I stopped that and we hung usb thinking that was the issue.  But no. I should add it is connected to a Dell AIO

    Hello @sues2015!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I should be able to provide suggestions!  I can see that over time your printer running slowly when printing from the computer wireless or USB connected.  If the printer is capable of performing a photo copy at normal speeds and then indicating that the equipment is working correctly and you are probably looking to a software problem in the computer.  Also if the printer is having the same problem USB or wireless connected pointing more fingers to the software.

The first thing I recommend is to uninstall the HP software. Once the uninstall is complete, it would be wise to perform a cleanup of the computer disk. A disk cleanup will improve the performance of the computer and remove the temporary files that may cause problems during the installation of the software. Once disk cleanup you must restart the computer and reinstall the HP software.

To uninstall the HP software, click here: uninstall the HP software

To perform a disk cleanup, click here: perform a disk cleanup

To download the HP software, click here: HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers

If please, after back and let me know how everything goes.

  • After update for HP UPD PCL 5 on the network drivers, local printers now very slow printing

I've recently updated the HP Universal Print Driver PCL 5 on my Windows 2008 R2 file and print server.  All printers on network HP 5 now show the new driver of the UPD PCL 5, and 5 all seems to work fine from all clients on the attached network.

However, as soon as I had updated the drivers from server, anyone with a printer connected locally HP began to test response times very slow when trying to print jobs to their local printer or even bring up the properties of the local printer.  I think that it is because local printers also use the HP UPD PCL5 driver, and something "broke" when I updated the driver on the server.   If the local printer is set as default, trying to make it appear a Properties dialog box takes several seconds (before it was instant), and clicking PRINT in any application results in a noticeable delay for the print dialog box to appear, followed by another notable delay (as in 10-20 seconds) before work is treated and control the application returned ot the user.  The printer takes then to another a few seconds to process work.  Essentially print jobs local just went from 5 seconds to 30 seconds or more for each task to start to print more.  This is unacceptable.

I tried to remove all printers on network among the PC client, and then deleting the local printer as well.  I restarted, then used the install.exe HP UPD PCL 5 to start the installation on the local computer, choosing to do an installation of USB.  I turned on the printer local return and it has been recognized and loaded the new HP UPD PCL5 driver, but the problem persists.

So after messing around with this more yesterday I think I narrowed down it to a port number.  It seems that when computers with local printers connected downloaded the new UPD PCL 5 form the network (updated their drivers for network printer), he reconfigured the USB port for each printer connected locally.  The USB port on the local printer will now appear as "DOT4 generic IEEE 1284.4 support printing", while before I'm pretty sure he showed as "DOT4 HP Laserjet one."   This white paper (which is unfortunately for Windows XP) appears to support the hypothesis that the port has changed and that the generic port is much slower (this is what we see now with local printers).  White paper on the issue of generic DOT4 port

I tried to delete all printers that use the UPD from a local system and then using the install.exe form the UPD package to install the local printer as a USB printer (disconnection of the latter before installation and then in reconnecting it when you are prompted by Setup), still the same generic port is re-created.  How can I change the generic port to a specific port HP driver for printers normally respond again?

Furthermore, I opened a ticket with the help of HP on the issue Monday afternoon, it is now Wednesday morning and the only response I received was a request to make sure that my cables were not more than 6' long.  Seriously HP support?

My best guess is that you do not use the name of specific driver to the version on the print server.   Driver version-specific name will look like "HP Universal printing PCL6 (v5.9.0).   Non-specific to the version name will look like "HP Universal PCL6 print.

When you work with print servers, it is recommended to use the name of the version-specifc driver.   I think what happened here are that the driver has been updated on the server, and this update was then pushed to clients through point and print because the pilots names.

You have indicated that you are using the PCL5 driver.   In a general office print PCL6 offers the best combination of performance and print quality.   I recommend you go to PCL6 immediately, unless your devices or custom applications/solutions are not compatible with PCL6.  (This is very rare)

If it were my system, here's what I'd do.

    1. Download UPD PCL6 5.9.0 and PARK of www.hp.com/go/upd
    2. Install the UPD PCL6 5.9.0 on my print server using the name specific to the version - create a temporary queue.
    3. Run AutoUpgradeUPD.exe from the PARK to remove queues existing impression on my print server and re-create them with the PCL6 driver.   (See http://youtu.be/mYCVx1RBp9w for more information on this utility)
    4. Remove the temporary queue
    5. On my clients, I would remove the existing printer USB connections.
    6. Run the UPD PCL6 5.9.0 installer and select the USB - Plug and Play mode and make sure that both check boxes are enabled.
    7. Re-connect local printers.

Something else I could try to implement PRNCON of the PARK on each client.    It will be delete and re-create the connections to printer to the print server.    This can be run without command-line switches, but I like to use the '-2000 w' command to force a second 2 the delay between the removal of the printer connection and recreate.

In a last time, I'll make sure to remove any old/unused drivers from the print server.

  • HP Officejet 4355 printer suddenly start very slow printing! HP technician advice needed!

    Hello
My all-in-one HP Officejet 4355 printer start suddenly feel very very slow! I've had it for 4 years, and God never gave me any problems (maybe minor once, but never really made me mad), as I used it very often at home and at the office. I always buy the HP original ink cartridge (only once, when I wanted to see how works the charging - it's not) and now the last cartridge has been in the printer for a month or two, nothing unusual, and suddenly my printer starts to print very very slow, if normally it took 10-15 sec for a black and white page now it will take 10 to 15 minutes. Could someone suggest help?
Please don't talk about the computer/Windows/USB settings, they all work very well. I unplugged the printer from the PC and don't "align the print cartridge. First step, the printed area, took 10 minutes, second step, part of scanning, does not pass. It says printer cannot allocate the alignment page...
Moreover, I did look around for answers and found that some people say it's a fault of the ink cartridge. But I used this cartridge for a few months now, it's almost, but not yet finished, it was perfectly up to printing. Impressions during this issue come out OK, 7 out of 10.
Anyone have any ideas? If I could attract professional assistance of technicians of HP, it would be perfect.

    Thank you.

Although they still ink cartridge may fail and give the results you see, where the printer made a bandage and wait 10-15 seconds for the next Strip. This is caused by the failure of one of your cartridges.  Remove each cartridge and clean the contacts on the cartridge and printer can solve the problem.

I don't remember if the Officejet 4355 reserve mode supports, but try the following: remove the black print cartridge and print a test page.  The printer prints at a normal speed?  Is therefore the black cartridge was the issue and needs to be replaced.  If it isn't then, put the black back cartridge in and remove the color cartridge and the test page printed.  If the printer now prints speed the color cartridge is responsible and must be replaced.

  • HP Officejet 5510xi all-in-one: very slow printing

My printer takes forever to print a single page.  I got faaster to work at some point, but do not remember how and now it is not printing normally again.

    Welcome to the @Mary6268forums.

I read your post on the matter of slow printing, you face your Windows 8.1 system when printing to your Officejet 5510xi. I have a few ideas in mind below for you to check and try, and I hope they help!

1 be able to reset the printer:

    Turn on the printer.
With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

    2. run the print and scan the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

    3. copy of test. Copies also produce very slow?

    4. print from Notepad. The tests also slowly produce here?

    Let me know the results
