MY RECOVERY MEDIA DOES NOT DV6-3170EE

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion dv6 - 3170ee Entertainment Notebook PC Core I7, drive HARD 500, Ram 4

I had a problem while I was trying to find my laptop. one of the brackets 5 recovery DVD does not work anymore. can someone help me find online recovery support please.

Thank you.

I'm looking for recovery media. Use the following URL.

I highly recommend that you order a usb instead of a disk set support. USB support is, unlike DVDs, very durable.

I have a HP G7-1365DX and the hard drive (750 GB) is a failure.  I did a recovery file on a USB key from the recovery partition and then replaced the hard drive with a 120 GB SSD.  When I tried to reinstall the USB system, I get the message "the system recovery media does not support this computer."  Is it because the hard drive was replaced by a SSD?  How to restore the system if the recovery disk does not work?

    Hello

You are right about the source of this problem - HP recovery media often has problems of restoring the operating system on a smaller disk in quality than appeared on.

There are a few options available.

    1. if the 750 GB drive is still able to operate, use your recovery media to perform a factory reset and then use software (or Windows 7 own imaging utility) for this clone of your SSD.

2 create your own recovery media to use to run the installation - it would be my personal preference.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • HP recovery media does not, need to do the second set of recovery on USB media.

    Hello

I have a new HP Envy laptop that I have created a set of recovery on six DVD media.  These work very well, but are a pain in the end to keep pending next DVD to load.

So I tried to make another recovery media and place it on a USB key.  Discovered, that it will not allow a second value created.

So I then ordered and paid for a recovery of HP media.  A beautiful labeled Microsoft USB key came. Great, I thought.

My laptop because of my fault I failed and wouldn't boot.  So I decided to use my new HP USB stick and after that go into the BIOS and disable the boot from USB stick and start secure etc as he said to it returned with an error that "this computer can not be recovered from this media!"

I then pluged in my DVD - ROM external and used drive recovery media that I did and it worked perfectly!

I tried the live chat with a technical person of HP and they checked the serial number and said I got what should work.  They could do a repair ticket and send the laptop.

It makes no sense to me as I have the unit upwards and running, but I wanted to know how I could get a USB work recovery media.

I ended up saying goodbye as they were of no help.

    My questions are:

    (1) why this media does not work?

    (2) is it possible to make a second set of recovery media?

    (3) is there a way to transfer my recovery media DVD 6 on a USB?

OLD POST > I first noticed the order said it was a pn 735088-002 and a sticker outside the wand that has the same number, BUT when he looks at a name on the flash drive is 735088-DB2... >

    UPDATE:

The new USB recovery media came today from HP.   He had again the same top part number that the original order has been 735008-002, BUT this time the corresponding came USB drive name to the tile. 735008-002 , I inserted this new media and it is fully charged.

Thank you for all your help.

  • DV6-6c15nr, "the system recovery media does not support this computer."

Hi all. I'm trying to reformat my laptop (dv6-6c15nr), but when I try to reformat to f11the recovery manager f, all options are such that the system restore and restore to factory is grayed out. The next thing I tried was a set of recovery disks. When I used the recovery disks, it showed the message "this computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media. 0110 A601UA #ABA - A1U60AV. Why can I not reformat my laptop... I remember that I was able to reformat until I sent offshore to get the hard drive and the radiator replaced by hp year last April. Now I can't get to... that this has to do with anything? someone please help...

I also tried without the bios downgrade F.19 REV: a. which do not help either.

    It seems that the motherboard may have been changed and the information system (tattoo) has not been updated to match that of your computer. While I can't fix this for you, I can suggest some possible solutions and I work to spare;

    (1) you can contact HP Customer Support and ask that they correct the problem.

    (2) attempt to control that recovery discs for the model of the motherboard is currently labeled as.

    (3) If you can still read the Windows product key of 25 characters on the Microsoft COA affixed on the computer, you can install Windows 7 using this key. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 using the 25-digit key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Hello!

    So, what should I do?

    Thank you very much.

Upgrade the BIOS/downgrade will not fix it unfortunately.

  • Pavilion 23-b244 AiO: the system recovery media does not support this computer

    Hey all,.

I had a power outage (1 TB) HD material on me about a week ago and replaced by a (500 GB) SSD, not purchased from HP.  I then ordered the recovery disc from HP for this particular serial number.  Whenever I boot on the recovery discs, I get "this computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media. "The Minsize argument in the instructions to build on the DVD file provides a minimum of 140 GB, so I don't think I have a new smaller drive system is the question.

Last month I have updated the firmware to v80.08, and in the bios "product name", 'SKU number', 'serial number of the chassis' fields are all empty.  In "System ID", everythign is empty except UUID and family name.

I think that's why I'm not able to boot to recovery discs?

Any help would be appreciated, I have use this computer for quickbooks and have bee unable to do accounting for a week and a half.

Figured it out! On my Pavilion, you press Ctrl + A in the bios then click on 'System IDs'. Then I was able to type in the ID to build my recovery and support the byte to feature on the sticker under my machine. F10 to save then the recovery media recognized the computer properly and booted up!

  • Recovery media does not

A year after I bought my system (13 months to be exact), the hard drive crashed hard and is not accessible.  So, I went out and bought another hard drive (SSD, 256 GB) to replace the 1 TB hard drive provided with the system.  I put in the recovery media, and it will not be installed because it does not meet the requirements of the media (hard drive size).  Is this normal?  On my other systems with a recovery partition, the recovery disks have been able to re - install the OS and the partition on the new disk even if it is more or less then the HD original.

    System P7-1410

    WIN8

    Hello:

Yes, unfortunately, it is quite normal when using on these newer model PC recovery discs.

I have a solution for you if you live in the USA (it can work if you do not as well).

When you can, download this ISO OEM W8.  He apparently has a certain amount of downloads per day, or whatever.

As of this minute, it does not appear available.

If you come back several times a day over the next few days, you get to download it.

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

Once DL ISO file, use this tool to make the file on a flash USB DVD or 4 GB drive bootable.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

The key to W8 in the BIOS of your PC will work with this file.

Otherwise, you can buy a W8 x 64 Program OEM in a computer online store.

You cannot use an upgrade of retail, or retail disk to install W8 on your PC. It must be an OEM disc.

Official response with the support of HP on twitter:

Try to use the tool of media recovery. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive. The USB has a boot device.

.. who has worked on the same USB stick 32 GB .  BUT it is not the same as in the HP Recovery Manager.

Don't bother more. I accept the foregoing as a solution.

Good luck with users who have this laptop. Also issues with the network adapter to which I am trying to fix at the moment.

  • Lenovo recovery media does not a recovery media

My T430 has a problem with the creation of the product recovery discs. It doesn't give me any options of recovery media. The drop down meny is totally empty. By clicking on "Refresh" does nothing. I updated the software and restarted several times, without success. I have a portable USB drive, which I use as a recovery media.

The issue is the same with the Lenovo and ThinkVantage tools Solution Center.

Any ideas what could cause this problem?

    Thanks and regards,

    -Gary

The reason for the USB key is displayed, it is created as a GPT disk. I changed it on the MBR and now it works.

    Thanks for your help!

  • 10 Windows recovery media does not work on 3020MT tour

I have a number of systems with lower upgrade Windows 7 installed by default. So I changed the firmware in the UEFI as shown:

I then started the UEFI boot option dvd DVD, and then try again to install the OS, but don't have the option, I also checked the following article:

but I don't get the option to install as per step 13, instead I get options for recovery / repair, same as you would get when running a recovery disk.

I tried the firmware with or without Secure Boot enabled, that does not make a difference, I also tried to create a USB of UEFI since the DVD and use that same result.

Finally if I go into advanced options, I choose the built in option to 'Recover' the OS from the disk, the problem with this is that it installed a clean install of Windows 10, no driver, no specific settings for Dell, no trial Office not installed that I simply want to activate.

Thought I would try the forums before you call technical support Dell Monday.

    Any ideas?

I would say that skip Dell support and use the installer of Microsoft...

    • No driver, but the few who are likely to be installed are fairly easy to install.
    • No Dell-specific tweaks not - other than Dell branding (which I doubt there is someone who would "want" that precisely), I'm not sure what you're talking about.
    • The trial is just the apps with installed free version Click-to-Run application - when you "activate" Office through Click-to-Run with an existing key, the files for the version that you select are downloaded from the web anyway, so there is really no reason to leave who oppose you.

  • Create product recovery media does not work after restoring to factory settings

Updated my T500 from 160 to 320 GB.

First of all, ran the RnR restore to factory settings with the product recovery media that I made earlier. And then restored my C: volume from my Windows Home Server backup.

Everything seems as usual except my service partition is now f: instead of S: and my Lenovo partition is H: instead of q:-I tested it I can get into the RnR with F11 service partition.

But when I try to create new recovery media product the ICT box is grayed out on the first prompt so I can't continue. Put back the partition of Lenovo on q: in disk management has not changed anything, he would let me change the letter of the service partition.

It's no big deal - I still have my original disks - but it would be good to know what I could improve for the next time I have to do a restore.

Think that I thought about it - when I restored my C volume I also restored a version of RnR who 'knows' I already burned disks. So next time if I want to burn new disks, I need to do on the version of the system factory setting before you restore the volume C:.
