My refuses Samsung R700 Vista start all I get is a black screen saying a disk read error occurred, press Ctrl alt del to reatart.

My refuses Samsung R700 Vista start all I get is a black screen saying a disk read error occurred, press Ctrl alt del to reatart.  I can not get to the windows screen, cannot get in safe mode, only the BIOS screen. I managed to get the Samsung recovery screen once, but he said that he did not find the repair disc in! Help, please?

It is possible that your hard drive is damaged. You can download Windows recovery disk (if you haven't) and run Startup Repair this one.

  • Problem re-installing VISTA after the removal of Windows 8 Preview Release, all I get is a black screen with a message "Not found operating system"

I recently tried Win 8 on my VAIO laptop spare parts on which I ran Vista, after having previously deleted all the files and documents (I don't use often the laptop). Having concluded that Win8 will really work correctly with a touch screen (and the display size was bad as well), I uninstalled WIN 8, understand that I have to re - install Vista from my rescue disks. This I tried successfully a few months previously to make a clean reinstall. However, after removing 8 WIN via the Control Panel, I can't re - install Vista now. All I get is a black screen with a message "The operating system not found" and the rescue disks do not register. What can I do? I like Vista (although I now run Win 7 on my PC) and really want to put it back. Grateful for the advice.

Well I finally fixed it by tweaking the BOOT BIOS settings and find something along the lines of VAIO Setup. I'm afraid, I just don't remember exactly what I did, but suddenly I found and ran 'VAIO Hardware Diagnostics' gave me a heart when it announced "no error was detected on the Vaio. Then I saw there was an entry for 'VAIO Recovery Utility - Recovery Wizard' and everything started to load. Since the 2 recovery discs I had. Finally, I ran MS Office and Small Business CD-ROM and now everything is back the way that it used to be. Here I had taken more note of how I got to the well Recovery Wizard. I hope that I never have to do it again!

  • BOOTMGR is compressed. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart__But when I do the same message appears and now my netbook won't start.

I'm not a computer whizz and now I fear I can have made a big mistake when I thought I was doing something safe.

So here's the story, I wanted to do a little more space on my drive hard because I don't have but a small memory netbook. After the usual cleaning disc and other things, I also saw a tick box option to compress all the files and folders on the c: / drive. I checked this box and everything was fine until I stop and it works even today.

As soon as the first image - the HP logo disappears (with instructions following key below '= change Boot Device Order' and '= ' configuration Options of the BIOS) I get a black screen with the following script in the upper right:

"BOOTMGR is compressed"... and below, «press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart»

However, when I do restart, nothing chages and I come back to the same message over and over. I think its pretty obvious that my 'sting' autour potentially screwed up things good and clean and I would be very grateful if someone knows how to solve my problem and what to do. I tried to study the question, already and so far, I think I might have to reinstall windows, but when I bought this netbook, windows has been installed for me so I did not drive. I don't even have a hard drive anyway. I also read on the windows troubleshooting pages who put the pressing F8 repeatedly until 'start it again from the last record in the point' etc options but it did not work either... unless I'm doing it wrong.

I hope I gave enough information above so that someone is able to help. Thank you for your time and I'll look forward all the answers and I hope that the answer.

This is a popular problem with computers HP they have written an article about this (in other words, what happens often):

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&DocName=c01872275

Compression is not a bad thing, but in the world where the disk storage is cheap usually not worth - you just buy more storage or maintenance disk Dome (remove things).  Compression can actually slow down the performance of your system too.  I think it's just sort of a vestige of the old days and can have negative consequences today.

Using the HP article, you can repair your system in seconds after getting into the Recovery Console.

There is a similar problem with systems not HP where the ntldr file may get compressed and solve it is a little different, but the concept is the same and only takes a few seconds to fix.

You will not engage in any kind of Mode safe either.

Enter the Recovery Console may be the biggest challenge.

You have a genuine XP bootable installation CD?  This is not the same as any type of System Recovery CD which might come with your system.  If you do not, you will need to make a bootable CD from Recovery Console by using a system of work - or physically move your HARD drive to a system that works, repair and put back.

Your system model number not specified there a CD player?

  • Trying to copy and paste a screenshot of a video game and stick it on the paint. All I get is a black screen Uni I put any graphic setting. How to paste it on Paint? I am able to do it on Vista, but not on Window7.

Screenshots to work in painting with Windows7, unable to work, all I get is a solid black screen capture.

I thought that is no longer a problem in the current version of Windows. In previous versions all that depended on what you were trying to catch and how it was made.

First, make sure the game doesn't have its own ways to make screenshots. There are a lot of games that allow you to do and screenshots that are just after that saved to a folder. You must search settings keyboard... maybe you will find a similar option. What is the name of your game... maybe I can try to find this option.

Other things... maybe it will be possible to intercept a tool cutting, then try this: when you're in the game, press the Windows key (it will open menu start without closing a game) > all programs > Accessories > capture tools > press an arrow next to new , and select full-screen Snip

  • "BOOTMGR is missing press ctrl + alt + del to restart" with this disc with recovery vista on it, but it still does not work. It could be the type of disc or something! NEED HELP PLEASE!

    Hello

So I did, Bam, same message. It might be the disk or something as I said, but I don't know! Its really annoying me now, please help!

Oh and I do not computer language can you please make it simple for me...

    Thank you!!

Here is the download of recovery for Vista instead of Windows7 drive: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/.  The thing is, I'm not sure you can use this drive for a boot recovery - you need an Installation of Vista disc.

If you can get your hands on an Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc, then here are some procedures to fix the BOOTMGR missing (you can try repair system with the Neosmart disk but honestly, I don't think that will work - you need to do the other procedure):

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ·        Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    ·        Bootrec /RebuildBcd

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • How can I get you Tube videos to play in Firefox? All I get is a black screen.

YouTube won't play video. Flash already on my PC game videos, they just do not when I connect You Tube.

I installed Flash version 10 and videos played on You Tube website, but wouldn't on my PC.

I installed Flash player 11 with bug fix and now they will not play on You Tube but they do on my PC.

You can check the problems caused by a recent update of Flash 11.3 and possibly upgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Try to "disable hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player.

Do I try to get into the Satellite M40 product Recovery DVD-ROM - this concern for me as the hard drive will be reformatted and all data will be lost.

    I'm stuck please help!

    Hello!

If you enter the product recovery disc, Windows will be relocated and will be erasing all data on the HARD drive.

I think that your HARD drive is damaged. You can check this with the Drive Fitness Test. Here you can download:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HARD drive.
On the same site is a user's guide if you want to know more.

By the way: you can save the data on the HARD drive, when you put it in a box external HARD disk. Then you can save the data on another PC, if the HARD drive is ok and have no errors.

I have an emachine with Vista for over 2 years with no problems, but recently, when I turn on the PC I get a black screen that says: "Boot From CD-ROM AHCI.  NVIDIA Boot Agent 249.0542.  Client MAC ADDR: 00 1 D 72 A9 D7 B6 GUIDE FFFFFF... "In order to get past this screen, I press Ctrl-Alt-Del and it will then start VISTA.  The last 3 days, the Ctrl-Alt-Delete method failed the first time and I had to repeat up to 3 times.  Now I wonder how long the Ctrl-Alt-Del bypass method will last.  What can I do to get the pc to boot normally again?

    start in safe mode.

    Choose Repair computer

Or the last known good configuration.

If windows loads in safe mode then uninstall any recently installed.
