my safari browser is no longer supported on my macbookpro5, 2

I have a macbookpro 5.5 and have long been messaged my safari browser is no longer supported. is it possible to find an update for my mac?

Safari updates are related to the OSX levels. 10.6.8 cannot run the latest version of Safari 9. Your options are:

(1) update of Mac OS on your computer. Your will support the current version of El Capitan, if you have at least 4 GB of RAM. However, most programs Alumni such as AppleWorks and any version of MS Office: older than Office 2008 Mac will stop working as soon as you leave OS 10.6

(2) If you do not want to upgrade your operating system, switch browsers. FireFox is good for now, but there are messages that it will soon work on any Mac OS more than 10.9 Mavericks.

I tried Seamonkey which seems to keep OS 10.6 supports and it looks and feels like FireFox. Very nice.

Do not receive a download using a site or the other browser. Get that from their respective developers:

FireFox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/products/

SeaMonkey: http://www.seamonkey-project.org/

  • Greetings, Im getting an urgent message when I try to open my safari browser. He said a number listed in the contact message. Is it a real Apple alert or a scam?

Hello, I get an urgent message to communicate a number of phone about my safari browser. Is it a scam? What is the official support of Safari Apple #? Thanks for your help?

    It's a scam.

Force Quit Safari using the command + Option + ESC shortcut keyboard, then restart Safari while hiding the SHIFT key .

Then, to your Safari menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab, then click: delete all data of the website can leave then restart Safari.

    That should eliminate the alert/scam.

  • Help: Cannot open any application "Safari" because PowerPC is not supported on the current computer

    Hi all

Until I look crazy, my Mac Book Pro (end 2011) is still running. Today, I already had some running applications (Safari, Virtual Box, etc.). When I tried to open a new window, Safari said "no internet connection".  I shut Safari and attempted to restart.

"Failed to start Safari because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."

He then removed Safari from the dock.

    Environment:

    MacBook Pro (late 2011)

68 GB free on 700 GB HDD

    El Captain (10.11.4)

I tried to open Contacts. Same error message.

To be clear: these are the built-in applications on the Mac.

While I download application files, I'm fairly warned about scams and not did something recently on the machine.

I hesitate to restart where it tells me that my entire machine is a Power PC application and is no longer supported.

Has anyone ever heard talk about something like that?

    Thank you

Andrew (write in a VM on the Mac as the app still works)

FYI - I have Remote Desktop running and was able to connect to a machine on the Internet, however, I can not start any application, Console.

  • Websites requisting, I update my Safari browser up-to-date.

    Hello everyone,

For a little while now, I've been running in a question on sites like youtube, grammarly and a few others of the more flashy (not software) Web sites. The message says that my version of Safari is outdated or not supported.  From this moment by the entire machine is up to date. I'm running OS 10.11 and run Safari v9.1. In addition to the normal brand of course everything is updated, I deleted the browser history, cookies and disable / uninstalled all my plugins and extension.  Interestingly, I ran a test on the https://www.whatismybrowser.com/ site and it has detected my browser to Safari v4 Snow Leopard with support for HTML 5.  So I created a second user account and verify that the same and all Web site works perfectly, Safari v9.  So, what's my next step? Should I delete (possibly) of my user folder to solve the problem?

Choose Preferences from the Safari menu, open the Advanced tab, check the box to see the menu expand if necessary, open the menu and change the setting in the submenu of the User Agent.
