My Satellite will not start after installing Vista updates

My Toshiba satellite laptop does not start after the installation of updates. I get the Toshiba screen, then a screen that gives me two options. Start windows normally or repair windows. I tried both but you just Tousez in circles to the same screen.

I didn't have any rescue CD or save a Vista CD with my computer

Can someone help me. Do you have ideas how to run again.

Thank you very much

    Please let me know, how to start the laptop.

    Hello GoogleGuru,
    Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.
    Because your computer does not start until the desktop computer, we were able to try the system restore to a point before you install SP2.
    Thus, with the computer is shut down. Press the power button, then press on and press F8 until you see the startup options, and then it will give you the ability to boot to the last known good configuration. (select it).

    If this does not work, you can try to boot from the Vista DVD and use the recovery console to perform a restore of the system to another point in time.

    Post back with the results.

  • Will not start after installing the Vista SP2

    Last night my old Vista SP2 computer.  Installation seems to have success, but to restart the computer as part of the installation of automatic update, it failed.  During a part of the boot with a screen similar to BACK sequence, it arrested, printed a msg that appears to be in hexadecimal and would go no further.  Restart with a sequence of hot or cold start to produce the same result.  I tried to correct the problem by using the Startup Repair on the Vista installation disc and received a msg that Windows could not repair the problem itself.  I sent the results to Microsoft using this option in the Startup Repair tool.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:
    As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.
    As your can fall into the above category: download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
  • Windows 7 splash screen will not change after the vista update
    After updating vista 32 bit to windows 7 32 bits, the splash screen will not change and he showed the vista boot. I read a lot of forum and the web page, but this solution:
    «.. . the dummies and bad start screen for Windows 7 is due to the locale entry in the startup folder, which could not be set when editing or rebuilding the BCD. When the locale is not found, Windows boot loader doesn't know what local startup folder to look for the animated bootscreen. Thus, in order to fix the boot screen so that the splash screen can be re-established, restored or reset to original animated Windows 7 boot screen, just run one of the following commands at the prompt with administrator rights:
    bcdedit/set {current} settings regional en-US
    or
    BCDboot % WinDir % / l en
    Change the US to the language version of Windows 7 installed, as ja - JP, en - us, es - ARE, pt - BR, zh - CN, zh - TW, fr - FR, fi - FI and etc.
    Restart the computer after running the command to see the new boot UI (user interface) be used again. To check if the locale has been entered properly, just run the bceedit command in the command prompt that is running as an administrator... »
    not solved my problem and also know for many users... after updating vista in windows 7 splash screen stay the same...
    Thanks for your help
  • A series of satellite does not start after the BIOS update
    After update bios with the downloaded utility my laptop does not start.
    Do you have this case covered by the warranty?
    I'm not sure if this would be covered by the warranty. You must contact the ASP in your country for details, but I assume that it s not covered.
    PS: Did you try this work around:
    -remove the battery, disconnect the adapter
    -wait ~ 40 min
    -connect the two devices again and try to turn on the laptop
    Hi Michael,
    1. What is the error message accurate/complete that you receive when you try to start Windows 8?
    2. Are you able to boot to Windows 8.1 without any problem?
    This problem can occur because of bad sectors on the hard disk. I suggest you run the disk check and check if you can start Windows 8.
    2. At the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.
    3. Now, type chkdsk/r to repair.
    3. Click Properties andcclick on the Tools tab.
    4. Click the control button user error checking.
    Warning of Chkdsk.
    Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost
  • Satellite A205-S4607 does not start after windows vista update
    I was installing updates in windows vista, but the battery was low and the computer is turned off, then, at the beginning of computer doesn´t, only the hard drive led is light but the screen is black, please can you help me?
    The model is Satellite A205-S4607
    It's not so easy...
    Try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter, then wait 30 to 40 minutes, plug in the AC adapter and try again. Maybe the problem is resolved.
    Give me a feedback, what happened.
  • HP Pavilion g6: HP Pavilion g6 Will not start after Windows regular updates
    This problem actually happened for at least a year now, but it became much more common. Whenever my computer performs an automatic Windows update and rebooting, it does not go back to the desktop. I'm stuck on screen of HP with a spinning wheel.
    He can simply sit this way for hours, unless I intervene. I normally hold the start button to turn off and try again, or remove the battery and try to start only on current alternative, but normally, it will take an hour to turn it off and reboot before it finally starts normally. Androgen HP will try to run an auto repair but that never solves anything and sometimes it won't really work repair at all - I get simply stuck on the screen to 'Diagnose your PC' for a long time.
    It's frustrating because I know that whenever I run an update of Windows, I am for an hour before you can use my computer. I've seen the question asked on a few other sites but no clear answers - anyone know what is causing this problem and how I can avoid it in the future?
    Take a read of the Microsoft documents at the following Internet address.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=Windows-8
    The first thing you should try is the Windows Update utility.  Download the file from the link and run it. This is for Windows 8.1.
    The troubleshooter should help guide you through this.
  • Windows Vista will not start after the automatic installation of the patch Ms.
    My Dell laptop does an automatic installation of the latest MS patches (12/08/10) and now he can't boot into windows.  All tests show that the material is fine, but an error at the end of the "bad update patch" said test results I can not even to go back to a previous restore point.  This happened to me the year last on my desk... same thing, but it's XP which could not start after an automatic update for the Member States.  Dell technical support told me that MS knows what is happening, but it is not supposed to be public knowledge.  I need to know if there is a fix, in addition to erase everything and do a complete reinstallation of the operating system.
    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.
    Restore point:
    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.
    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
    If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC.     Hello
    It's really weird, but flash animations on most sites (sites like Ustream) will not play after that I updated the flash player. The funny thing is that on youtube play very well. I've tried disabling the addon of shockwave, relocation, etc., but nothing works. This problem is with firefox only because as the Chrome and Explorer the flash player works fine.
    Thank you.
    Thank you. In fact, it was not necessary because I have disabled protected mode flash and who did it. However, seems like it is not the best option but average tiem, I guess I have no choice.
