My sndvol32.exe file is missing,

y at - it another way to install except downloading them out of my windows xp cd, because I lost that. I don't really have anyone that I can borrow one. Can I get a free download online somewhere?

I downloaded a copy of the file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:
http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311
When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

You have to put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

This confirms my suspicions you have (or had) malware. This version of csrss.exe is for service Pack 2 of Windows XP.
You really need to run MBAM.
But despite this, if you run at the SP2 level, it is unclear what might make its way onto your PC. There are some out there extremely difficult to detect rootkits. You find you might need to perform a clean installation. If you would rather fight infection, you can always look for guided help:

    Original title: CyberDefender diagnosis

This promo 'Double my speed .com' is a bait & switch. $40 for their 'diagnostic' software, then someone turns to sell you a package of $400 maintenance. A container of the slow cooker.   However, their 'diagnostic' has stated that this file is missing from my system:

I have had a lot of wrong with my Firefox browser lock up lately (which the 'seller' useful said they could fix), so I came on this site to download it, but a search comes empty.  Has anyone concerned with that?

    Hi Benthoven,

You can try to run the disc, defragment, and see if it works. If it works, then you can ignore the message of C:\Windows\SysWOW64\defrag.exe.

    Step 1:

You can read the following article and try to run Disk Defragmenter.

    Please help :(

    Hi Alex212,

If the files loaded at startup of the operating system are corrupt then you may not be able to start on your desktop.

Follow the instructions below that may help you resolve the issue.

    Method 1:

Try to disconnect all external devices on the machine, and then start the computer.

Sometimes, an external hardware can also cause the issue during the startup process.

    Method 2:

Follow the instructions to start the computer in safe mode.

1 turn on the computer or restart the computer

2 start typing the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Boot Menu of Options will appear.

If you start typing the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error". To resolve this issue, restart the computer and try again.

    3. ensure that the safe mode option is selected.

    4. press ENTER. The computer then begins to start in safe mode.

Let us know if you are able to start your computer in safe mode.

  • My edit.exe file is missing

Hi, I have to use command prompt a lot for my class this semester and a work at home I have been loaded with the help of the edit command to create a new text file. Sounds easy but as soon as I pressed on between I get the error «edit is not recognized as an internal or external...» "message.

I looked in my windows/system32 folder and there was no edit.exe.
Then I ran sfc/scannow and the scan did not pick up any errors.
I restarted my laptop just in case and still no edit.exe
Y at - there a way for me to download or a way to solve this problem?

Uh, I think that the echo command could be useful. You might want to consider the issue, followed by ending the line with > C:\Path\To\File.txt
Adding that will echo in a file. You will have to consider the question, because I do not remember if this adds the output to the text file or overwrites the contents of the file.

I wouldn't mess with or whatever this is put in the Prefetch folder - it takes care of itself.

You must copy the sndvol32.exe file into two files listed:

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing files.

If your sndvol32.exe maintains endangered, it is probably due to malicious software or your application antivirus/antimalware deleting file thinking it as a threat.  If what is happening, what you are currently using for the protection of the VA is distressed or defective.

  • Qosmio F20-153 - ntoskrnl.exe file missing

    Hello

I have an almost 5 year old toshiba Qosmio F20-153, which has developed an error with the Windows message root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe file is missing.
I wonder if it's fixable without completely re - install the complete operating system that I still have the Toshiba restore disk.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

In my view, your only option is recovering the entire notebook. The Toshiba Recovery disk only contains an image of factory settings, which means that you can t install this single file of this disc.
In addition it s a good idea to reinstall Windows from time to time. If your installation is already 5 years old, you should do this. You will be surprised with the speed of your laptop is after that. :)

Use the recovery disk is quite simple: you must boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen. You do a few clicks only and that s it!

    Hi all

I lived like many of the fixes suggested on the forum as possible so feel I have this post as a new question. I have no sound on my computer. I think it was an accidental deletion of key files during uninstallation of some programs. In any case, the problem of double wammy is than I:
    1. Don't have my XP installation disk anymore because it was lost long ago, and
    2. I do not have the sndvol32.exe file in the system32/dllcache folder so it cannot stick in the system 32 folder
So, how can I get my sound back!

This article will show you how to install sndvol32.exe from the CD.

Since you don't have one you can borrow one from someone.

You can also copy the file from another computer.

Since you have an iceberg under this issue, why not try to install the clone from the link below.

XP OS CD are very cheap now so maybe you should buy one and do a clean install instead of crop to the iceberg and save you headaches.
