Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

Restore point:

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If the Mode and/or the system restore safe does not work and you do not have a Microsoft DVD of Vista (you have Dell, HP, etc.), do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
See you soon.
  • Win 7 does not start, the Startup Repair says corrupt amdide64.sys
    I uninstalled my ATI Catalyst Control Center, which forced a restart.  The reboot takes me to the windows startup repair which fails to solve the problem.  The log shows that theamdide64.sys is corrupted.  The options don't help me.  For example, I have no recovery points on this computer, then that option does not work.
    There was a post on the forums who suggested using the win7 install disk and choosing the repair option, but who also wants a recovery point and will not work.
    What else can I try?
    Hello
    You probably won't be able to run the repair facility, since you can't boot into Windows at all.
    Since it's disk about the best way to back up your data, would be to put the hard drive
    in another computer as a 2nd drive (best method) or "possibly" in a USB external box (less
    likely to work in this case). Or the other may allow you to copy the data to a removable such as
    CD, DVD and other USB units. Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of the system can help
    with data recovery. There are professional data recovery companies even if these services are
    generally expensive.
    There are bootable discs, such as those who use linux, which will start and you could save
    the data.
    After uninstalling my XPSp3 o.e., I started getting the following error message: "the address book failed to load. Outlook Express is incorrectly configured, please re-install. "at the start of XP and the machine.
    Hi Albert
    You can try to reset as Winston has suggested that he will solve the problem. Before attempting to reset the PC, you can try refreshing the computer and check.
    When you refresh PC applications provided with your PC or you installed from Windows Store will be reinstalled, but all the apps you have installed other Web sites and DVD is deleted. Windows puts a list of applications on your desktop after you refresh your PC.
  • What is xwvorgutssd in my startup config? Anyone know?
    I searched and have no idea what it is. Trying to find out if necc to start
    Thanks for any info
    The short answer is that you must remove this entry from your configuration to start using Autoruns (see below).
    You seem to be a step beyond the majority of posters who ask something like: 'why do I get an error message that xwvorgutssd.dll can not be found when I start Windows?' because you have already discovered the entry in your startup configuration (probably using msconfig).
    Here is the generic answer:
    Looking for errors like this by doing a search on Google for the name of the file.  Usually, they turn up without success.
    When a search in no hits or suspicious hits result, the answer is usually that the file in question is linked to the malicious software and your anti-malware application has deleted or quarantined file, but left to the Windows registry entry that tries to start the malicious software when you start your computer.
    First of all, download, install, update and run a scan complete with each of these free analytical tools:
    MalwareBytes AntiMalware
    SUPERAntiSpyware
    Do not run the scans at the same time.  They can take some time, so start an and then go for a non computer chore for awhile.
    If the scans does not solve the problem (and they can't, because the actual malware file has already been processed), then download and run Autoruns.  Click on the "Connection" tab and look in the column 'Image path' for the dll named in your error message.  If it is not displayed in the connection tab, click the "all" tab and use the file > search tool.  A characteristic of the search of Autoruns tool is that you must move the selection under the element line "found" before you "Find Next."
    Once you find the line with the file in question, either "delete" or (if you want to be safer) uncheck the box.  The latter prevents the line running, but you can reactivate it later by removing the check mark.
  • Change 'Start Up' of the elements in the System Configuration utility
    I tried to remove some the startup items in order to speed up my computer. When I run msconfig and I select "Start" and then check the items to delete, after I selected "Apply" I get a message that basically said... "Access error was returned. You may need to log on as an Adminitrator s changes. As far as I know, I am an administrator as ever, I added all the extra accounts and I always connect under the default account titled original HP administrator.
    In addition, what are the elements are indeed necessary on this menu? Some of them I know but there is a number, I have no idea.
    MSConfig has been designed to be a troubleshooting tool, not a "Start Configurator".  Use MSConfig to determine the location of the command who tries to start the program, and then remove it.  To stop the selective startup notifications, either return your settings to the way they were, or permanently remove unwanted programs from your startup configuration.
    In most cases, with 'good manners' applications, it is usually as simple as opening the unwanted program and deselect the "Show icon in the system tray" option or "launch at Windows startup.
    In addition, look in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Menu Menu\Programs\Start files and in the system registry, mainly in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key.
  • How to remove McAfee security scran more my boot of the System Configuration.
    Hi, my laptop is a Windows vista 32-bit, I have a problem to remove McAfee Security scran more my boot of the System Configuration. In fact, I had used the removal tool to remove the antivirus McAfee sofeware eralier. But when I opened my startup Configuration recently, I noticed that the McAfee security plu scran is still there, I have turn off, but couldn't delete it. Help, please. Thank you.
    Gary
    Hello
    1. are you able to uninstall successful McAfee software?
    2. is there an error message or error code while you uninstall McAfee software?
    Try the following and see if it helps.
    Method 1:
    How to uninstall McAfee Security Scan Plus? : http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100783
    See also: http://promos.mcafee.com/LegacyLp/en-us/affiliates/adobe/landingpages/np681.asp
    Method 2:
    Uninstall if you have any program name McAfee Security Scan Plus on your computer.
    Uninstall or change a program: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Uninstall-or-change-a-program
    See also:
    Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.     Method 3:
    The System Configuration utility displays the items that start with your computer. These items are usually in one of two areas. The registry or during startup.
    If you decide to prevent specific items from start until you can uncheck the in the System Configuration utility. Although this method is very good, it is ultimately preferable to delete them from the source. To access the common locations in the registry of these elements take a look in the following areas:
    Note : open the registry editor by clicking the Start button, type regedit into the search box, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
    Hkey_current_user\\software\\microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runonce
    If you have disabled items in the System Configuration utility and want to remove the registry also they lies in one of the following locations:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SharedTools\MSConfig\startupfolder
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE startupreg
    Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly.   • Restart Powerconnect 6248 without disturbing the Configuration
    I apologize in advance for the entry-level position and if that's the answer elsewhere, please point me in the right direction:
    I inherited load on a network LAG / VLAN with a central 2-battery Dell switch Powerconnect 6248 functioning as a main switch and routing of traffic between the VLANs that are shared it resources.
    I want to restart this switch without losing any configuration, because I'm just to enter this network, I don't want to disrupt or rebuild the configuration.
    I can get Telnet or SSH access to the switch but now use the GUI. When I go to reboot I choose to restart the two batteries and am met with the message:
    "The unit will restart with the startup configuration, not the running configuration. Do you want to continue? »
    I had a contractor separate network restart the switch before and I don't know if it simply ignored the message and proceeded. I would like to be able to restart this switch without losing any configuration.
    My question is, I'm ok to move forward through this error message? Or do I need to configure backup to restart? What is the best way to proceed with a simple reboot of two chimneys, while maintaining the current configuration.
    Here is the procedure, I suggest you take.
    -If the running configuration is operational and you want to keep on the switch, and then save it in the startup configuration.
    -before to restart, save the configuration.
    -Keep the battery restart.
    You can then use this backup config as a reference in case something happens to the configuration of the switch. It's a good idea to take the habit of saving after all change config, before the updates of the firmware, reboot, etc.
    Here is an article that will guide you through the commands to perform these actions.
  • Error at startup of the system
    Hello
    I used the product (details as below):
    Product name: HP Pavilion a1210in (bought in 2005)
    Operating system: Windows XP
    My computer worked perfectly well, all of a sudden when I booted the system and facing this error message:
    "Reboot and select proper boot device .
    "or insert a bootable media in the selected boot device and press a key.
    I rebooted the system and checked in the startup configuration menu, and he showed not the hard drive. A Serial ATA drive is installed in my PC. But only 3 m-LITE-ON COMBO SOHC - 4836 K (which is the CD/DVD player combo) appears in the list of boot devices.
    I removed and reconnected the cables, (hard disk SATA connection), in the processor, but it does not help as well.
    What are the possible options now (Do I need to get a new hard drive, if yes, then which ones do I need?)
    Help, please.
    wb2001: ' find a replacement hard drive is difficult because this system uses a SATA Ultra DMA-150.» This is commonly called Sata150. Most discs hard Sata300 have riders to make the drive used in Sata150. (Rider is not included). »
    PiyushKapoor: "I actually don't know much about Sata 150/300, then you mean say that there is no alternative option? So what are the possible solutions now?
    You must locate a Sata300 drive. She should have jumpers on the backend that can be set to Sata150. Examples:
