  • Stay connected mode 'sleep'

is there an option to stay connected to the wifi mode 'sleep'?

Not in OS X. You can search for a third-party utility to help you, but I don't remember any. A WiFi sleeps in order to preserve the battery life because the WiFi consumes a lot of battery if left running when not used.

  • Vista ghoes mode 'sleep' will not 'wake up '.

Vista starts without a problem.  Without warning the display disappears and I am unable to see anything including the cursor. At first I thought the BONE broke, but now I think it's just going to go to sleep on her own and refusing to "wake up" when I move the mouse.  I tried several diagnostic tools on the computer, but everything seems to be OK.  The first time it happened I was using a projecter and display of powerpoint slides. Is it possible to disable the "sleep" function to see if my theory is correct? Or you have a better idea?

    First option

It seems that your computer can be set the hibernation mode. The main reason that he would do that automatically would be because your battery level is extremely low. Try plugging your computer or insert a charged battery and release, and then press the power button a times, the computer usually does not work in the movement of the mouse in Hibernation Mode.

Do not forget that, once the laptop goes into hibernation, you should not interrupt the process by removing the battery until the hard drive and all the other lights stop flashing and power off. Once they have fed completely down (may take a few minutes) you can exchange the batteries safely. To wake up from hibernation, press and release the power (once) button. Function of various factors, your laptop can take 1 to 5 minutes to return to the login screen, although usually, it will be one or two minutes, not five.
    Second option
If the power is not a problem, but you leave your computer on all using it does not, he can simply go to mode hibernation as part of its power system management. You can change the settings for diagram of power to your needs as follows:

Place your mouse over the the battery icon on the taskbar and right click.

    Select "Power Options".

(You can also access power options through the control panel: start > Control Panel > system and Maintenance > Power Options.)

According to the plan used on your computer, click on "Change Plan settings".

Change the settings for sleep and Disply offered as you wish.
Click on the link "Change advanced power settings" (near the bottom of the window".

Scroll through the list at the entrance to 'Sleep' and expand it. Expand secondary entrances and change the settings as you wish. Look at the rest of the settings on the list as to make the desired changes. Click on 'Ok '.

    Click "Save".
If this does not resolve the problem, please let us know.

  • ThinkPad T60 8744 will not stay in mode 'sleep'.

I apologize if this question has already been addressed elsewhere in this forum; I looked at some length and any mention of it is found.

I had a problem recently with my ThinkPad T60 8744-5BU running Windows Vista Business SP1.  Whenever I put my laptop sleep (whether by closing the lid or using the combo Fn + F4), it will remain so for anywhere from 30 minutes.  At one point during the transport, the laptop comes out fashion 'sleep'.  It is very good and everything except that it is usually in one of these sleeves neoprene inside my bag Targus, which means that at the time when I get where I'm going, I could use it to make pancakes.

Because it always seems to happen while I'm away, I figured that maybe it was a problem with an Active Protection, but neutralizing him did not resolve the issue.

Has anyone run into this problem or heard of something similar?  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Ben

  • Model VAIO VPCSA3AFX will not stay in mode 'sleep'

Hi sudz28! Welcome to the community of Sony!

I'm sorry for that matter. drtechno is right, a program or a scheduled task may be waking your computer. Please try this troubleshooting steps here:

To prevent programs wake up your computer

    1. open the power supply Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.

    2. in the Select a power plan page, click change plan settings for the plan you want to change.

    3. on the change settings for the plan page, click change advanced power settings.

    4. on the Advanced Settings tab, expand sleep, Allow wake timers, select disable for both when your computer is running on battery and when it is plugged in, and then click OK.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • dv7-4170us mode 'sleep' will not wake up

I have a dv7-4170us which is out of warranty and a dead battery. I can't the computer to wake from sleep mode.

I removed the battery, battery cmos, the hard drive and cd-rom drive. Nothing don't wake you this thing!

The wifi light is orange, the caps lock is flashing. The mute button is not lit.  Digital lock is not a light.

Nothing, not even a mouse, is plugged into the laptop.

Processors go really wrong that often, but it happens. Unfortunately, most people have a portable alternative to plug the CPU in a test.  On the other hand, the Systemboards are less Hardy. If you remove the hard drive and try to boot and BIOS complains that there is no operating system, the BIOS has tested the CPU and it is OK. If it not yet come to this...

If she wakes with a hard reset it is, unfortunately, usually the end of the line.

  • Vista 64 bit won't in mode 'sleep'

    Hi all

Just bought a new desktop with Vista 64 bit computer.  He won't go in mode 'sleep' and is therefore always on.  I tried to contact dell technical support and they said it was a problem of Microsoft/Vista about the transformers containing more than 6 GB of RAM.

How do I get this resolved?

    Hello RobertVP,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers Forum.  The question that Dell was referring to involves hibernation, a deeper form of sleep.  Please read this article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base that explains the issue and a work around:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/888575

If you just try to get your system to put to sleep, there are some management settings power described in the article in the Knowledge Base you can try:

Let us know if or the other of these items solve your problem.
