  You are on the start menu classic.
  Here's how to change back...

  Right click on the button start square > properties > click Start menu tab if you are on the bar tab tasks > click on a point in the first called Start menu > click OK

• Vista taskbar has changed when I edited the Start Up Programs

  I edited my programs from starting with msconfig to speed up my computer. I tried to not disable the programs that I recognized as useless or that there are 'arrested' said status so I knew that I didn't need them. However, when I rebooted my computer my Vista taskbar and accompanying effects vista are dumbed down for a classic look.

  I already checked the properties, and is not the problem. As far as I can tell that my NVidia is fine I missed that in the boot options. I think I turned off a Windows program that kept my Vista from the normal search.

  Any advice?  I would rather not system restore because I would always go back and change my start and maybe go back to the same program.  Does anyone know the programs that combine with Vista?

  That you disable?

  A process of elimination should work - reactivate 1/2 - If the problem is corrected then disble 1/2
  -If the problem has not been corrected, then try the other 1/2. Or use system restore
  and start over by removing only 1 at a time - or a few and so on.

• Taskbar in Vista update changed to scroll

  After the execution of an update to Vista my bar tasks has changed so that I have to use up and down arrows to scroll to see my current tasks rather than display them in the taskbar.  It's very embarrassing and I can't find a way to change this in the taskbar properties so that I can see all my tasks in the taskbar.  Does anyone know how to return to the appearance of the normal task bar?  Thank you.  I think it was a HP update and not a microsoft update.

  So, since none of the resident geeks have bothered to help, I thought about it: you must click with the right button on the taskbar, uncheck "Lock the taskbar", then drag the dots representing the left edge of the taskbar as you want.  I have no idea why the HP update has caused, but this fixed it for me.  But you should probably re - lock if you want to keep it normal again.  See you soon!

  Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

  1. a System Restore to before the updates:

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

  If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

  If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

  Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

  System restore steps according to the info above.

  If you have the English edition of Vista Ultimate, then you can download and install the MUI pack Chinese.  If you have all the other editions of Vista, you need to go to Ultimate first or buy a Chinese version and reinstall.

  You must install the drivers for the hardware.

  Download drivers

• Activation of Windows Vista after changing motherboard and processor

  I bought a HP Pavilion Slimline PC (HP S3500z) with AMD Athlon Dual core, online from HP in the United States during the year 2008, which is preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium. I did the recovery also disks at this time.

  In May 2009, I came to the India and the PC was fine. This year, in October 2010, the PC has suddenly stopped booting and after discussing the nature of the problem with the HP online support, it was concluded that the motherboard has gone wrong.

  I tried to locate to the motherboard, but it is not available and there are size constraints associated with the motherboard that can be mounted in the slimline PC... FINALLLY I could not well the same motherboard.

  Now, I have no option but replace the motherboard and the processor from Intel to make...
  But after the replacement of these two main components: the Vista downloaded on my PC will not recognize them and would require again activation...

  I have not yet changed components and require the guidance on how to make this change followed in reactivation...

  Please give information about the problem as early may so I'd go head and do what is necessary...

  When you change the motherboard, you lose all rights to the OEM installed Vista OS.  It is called "tattoo" by HP and is a license agreement with Microsoft. Your only solution is to buy a version of the OS and sure, format the drive to lose all data. The only other alternative would have been to contact HP and ask questions on a refurbished motherboard, or a Board that is in the same group family who would accept the OEM license.

  Why not do a system restore. Take yesterday or the day before, as your restore point.
  How will that help.

  Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
