My window of export in LR4 has completely disappeared. Help?

Working fine until tonight... the window export completely disappeared. I installed the update to 4.2, no luck. Restarted the computer, nothing. Uninstalled LR completely and re-installed, still nothing. Does anyone else have this problem? I can't display the window with the options with regard to exports, it is impossible.

You are already working with a second monitor?  This is usually the result of dialog last export being used on a (now offline) another monitor.

I'd start first with the chkdsk/r.

Don't forget - if you have a factory installed recovery Partition, fixmbr will scan it as the Master Boot Record that written XP will equal not the MBR installed by the factory, so first run chkdsk /r (did I say that already)?

    Here are some instructions:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/RCONSOLE.htm

Where people have no XP bootable media, here are my instructions:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • Beats Audio has completely disappeared from my HP Envy 6 1010ea

I've recently updated my ultrabook and the beats audio Panel completely gone!

It was working fine before the updates (which have been "recommended by HP")...

I can still change the function of power on and off beats using fn + b but when I go to open the audio control beats it says boot file not found...

    Any help?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56717.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once done, restart the laptop.

  • My tool bar has completely disappeared, and pressing F10 or ALT or the two together doesn't matter.

Also, sideways on the page margins became broader - do not know if the two are related.

Could you make sure that Firefox is not in his view "full screen"? On Windows, you should be able to exit the full screen using either:

    • F11 key (this screen full switches on and outside)
    • Drag the pointer of the mouse to the top of the screen, try a few points if necessary and the toolbar area must roll down, then either:

      • Click on the "3-bar" menu button and full screen
      • Right click > exit full screen

I have a laptop Mac OS x 10.6.8 running version. Firefox has been installed more than two years ago and has been used exclusively for Internet access, browsing through Telstra wireless cable. Yesterday, I noticed that he had moved his position on the dashboard. I thought that it was strange that this happens without warning at the same time. Today, he is gone entirely from the dashboard. I can find no trace of it in the Applications and indeed, any where even in the trash. It has apparently been deleted somehow without my knowledge or permission. Other applications on the dashboard are still in close and seem to work OK. Can you advise action that there are several attached bookmarks that are very important to me

    Thank you

    Hi Ray,

Sorry for the confusion previously. Let me see if I can help solve your problem.

Have you tried to save the icon to your Dock to see if the icon sticks here? Open Firefox from the Applications once it is visible in the folder, then try to control-click the icon while it is open in your Dock, and then choose Options > keep in Dock.

Let me know if this is useful, and if we don't need information on what is happening.

  • my laptop has completed the automatic update of vista and after that I can't access wireless router with an ethernet cable only

My sony vaio laptop running windows vista has completed an automatic update and after that, I can't connect to my wireless network, I can access the internet with an ethernet cable.

It worked perfectly fine before the update, I know that there is a problem with what I had the same problem in the past. The way it's been solved previously was to restore the laptop to an earlier point before the end of the update. Unfortunately I can't do that and the laptop has been completed, wiped and there is no backup where I can go to restore.

I know I can remove some updates but don't know what 1, me it is another way to solve the problem.

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Nadzarif,

You can try the following steps and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

Because the wireless stopped working after windows update, you can check the Sony support link and try to install the latest version of the drivers for the wireless card and check if it helps:

    Sony support

For more information, see the article:

    Update drivers: recommended links

    Method 2:

Updated version has a problem in the history of the update.

    Step 1:

You can check in the history of the update for the updates that are installed recently or before the show.

    a. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.

    (b) in the left pane, click view update history.

    c. to display more information about an update, double-click it.

See the Windows updates are installed

    Step 2:

Uninstall recently installed updates and install the updates one at a time to understand what update is the cause of the problem.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11, Acer can be Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
