My Windows Movie Maker collapsed in response. How can I save my project?

I worked on this project for five hours, and I need it for a class. I don't want to redue it again, because its 10 min long.  I finished it all, except the credit end. I really need to save it so I don't lose. Help, please.

Hello

You can try the following steps and try to save the project:

Method 1: Increase the size of the swap file

Check out the following link to increase the size of swap file

Change the size of virtual memory

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory

Method 2:

Save the movie in smaller Sections

Save the movie in the sections a half or a third party. This reduces the complexity of the table of storyboard / timeline by reducing the number of individual items that appear on the table of the storyboard / timeline. To save the movie in smaller portions, follow these steps:

Step 1:

Remove and retain a portion of the film

a. Select a subset of the items in the table of storyboard / timeline.

b. in the Edit menu, click on cut.

c. on the file menu, click on save movie file.

Note: This avoids the part of the movie which is always on the timeline or storyboard, not the article that you cut.

d. in the movie recording Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration process.

Step 2:

Import the Portion and save the entire movie

a. when the movie record Wizard is finished, on the file menu, click Import media items

b. click on the file that you saved in steps 3 to 5 of part 1, and then click Import.

c. right click on the imported file and then click on copy.

d. click on the area of the table of the Storyboard where you want to insert the file.

e. in the Edit menu, click on paste.

f. on the file menu, click on save movie file.

g. follow the instructions in the wizard movie recording.

h. clear the film Show when I click on the finished dialog box, and then click Finish.

  • How can I save the project?

I asked before how I can create 3D canvas looking for image

and Terri gave me this tutorial, which has worked very nice.

    http://www.rtbmediaonline.com/blog/?p=129

Now my question is if and how can I save this project together in order to be

power to apply it later to other images without going through the process with each image manually?

You can do this is to aid. You can save a set of changes you apply to an image, save the action and play later by another image, or even apply it to a batch of images.

Press F9 to open the Actions Panel.

    Then, create a new Action...

Name it and change the settings. Here you can assign a keyboard shortcut for your new Action:

Then, click record to begin recording.

Follow all the steps in the tutorial, and then stop the Action:

Now you can play the action again for any image!

  • I seem to be missing 'Windows movie maker HD' - any ideas how to install it?

My new laptop came pre-installed with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.
"Windows Movie Maker HD" is supposed to be part of this version of windows.
My laptop came with a recovery disk, not a windows installation disc, is this correct?.
How do I get/install that missing piece of software?

    Thank you

    John.

    Hello

The product recovery disc is an exact image of the operating system that was created on the first installation at the plant where the machine was made. Basically, this disc is your copy of Windows, if indeed you're right.

In Windows Movie Maker HD is, get on my laptop here I only have Movie Maker installed, and it is through a copy of Vista Ultimate retail. The HD of the software part is intended mainly for import from HDV cameras, and the connectivity features need not here then it's not only available as an option.

As far as I know Windows Movie Maker and Movie Maker HD alike well enough with the additional functionality.

I hope this helps. I will look into this new and keep you :)

    Kind regards

  • "windows live movie maker has stopped working", how can I fix

I made movies regularly. I tried to open the program and now it simply reads "windows movie maker has stopped working".  What should I do to fix this?  Can I recharge direct Director? I read about a possible deletion of the program and photo gallery. I don't want that to happen.  I take movies already published the computer off? Is it a space issue?  I'm at 148 GB used, 138 free space. This should be ok?

    Hello

Refer to the link below and follow the steps.
Error message when you try to start Windows Movie Maker in Windows Vista: "Movie Maker has stopped working".

  • Windows Movie Maker (version 2.1) does not open my .mswmm project.

The WMM gives the error message "stopping" whenever I try to open this project.  I have Windows XP.  My project was started about 18 months ago, and I believe that WMM has been automatically updated since then.  I thought that an older project could be opened in a new version of WMM, although a more recent project could not be opened in a previous version.  I'd really like to reopen this project in order to complete and save, because I spent a lot of time to compile.  Would appreciate any help that can be given.  Thank you

    Hi ElisabethLee,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. are you able to create and save a new project using Windows movie maker files?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

Windows Movie Maker in Windows XP uses video and audio filters when you import, preview and record movies.

I suggest that you turn off the video and audio filters in Windows movie maker and check if it works.

To change the video filter settings

    (a) click on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the compatibility tab.

    (b) in the list of video filters, you can enable or disable a filter by selecting or clearing the check box.

    Change the video filter settings

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-XP/help/MovieMaker/change-video-filter-settings

    Method 2

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • Windows XP Movie Maker 5.1... can not finalize my project and make a movie.

I have Windows XP and I use Windows Movie Maker 5.1 Service Pack 3.  I can't record my movie.  He plays beautifully when I'm in the program, but I'm unable to record on my computer, a CD, etc.  All my files are on my desk and have not been moved or changed, but the message I get is that my film was saved without success.  I really need help with this if anyone has a suggestion.  I tried just about everything I can think of.

    Two possibilities...

    (1) your project is too big or too complex for your system
    resources.

    Solution... Create small projects.

    (2) one or more of your files source (Photos, video clips,
Music videos) are either incompatible with Movie Maker or
    they are corrupt.

Solution: Convert the files to the formats before
    import into Movie Maker.

Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker
but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
    Video - wmv
    Audio - wma, wav

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup295.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
    Drag > FFSetup295.exe< out="" of="" the="">
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

  • How can I save a project with transparent work plan?

    Hello

Can you please explain to me how to save a project EPS with transparent work plan? I mean, everytime I open the project from the work to be transparent plan.

I need to know How to save the whole project with transparent work plan, not only the image with a transparent background (the project to be with one transparent artboard).

    Thank you!

Well, the first thing you want to do is forget about format EPS. He served in a modern workflow and can't stand any kind of transparency.

Also, think that the Illustrator artboard is nothing more than a set of limits. It has no opacity or transparency.

If you want to see the transparency (an oxymoron) in your editing environment, choose View > show transparency grid. It's a view simple setting... not a file attribute.

There is a small chance that you may have better results if you
record in DV - AVI format. I will paste the instructions below.

Also, it may be worth trying to go to... Tools / Options / Compatibility

  • 5.1 on XP Windows Movie Maker.

I am trying to create educational videos using Windows Movie Maker 5.1, which came with the laptop that I use.

Screenshot of CamStudio2 movie plays fine in Windows Media Player, but once registered under film after editing in Movie Maker, the resolution is shot to bits when played in Windows Media Player.

Screen shot films are blurred, and weird colors appear by text captured on screen.

I tried the different output settings (NTSC, PAL, best to play on my computer, etc.) but with no improvement.

Audio plays fine, but the video is blurry. Do I need a filter or a profile to correct this problem, or is it just a settings error I do? Thanks in advance for your help.

Native mode in Win XP, Movie Maker 2.1 the best
quality save option would be DV - AVI.
(FWIW... 5.1 is your version of Windows)

If your saved video files are not the resolution you
require... you may need to use a custom profile:

Personally, I find the following .wmv profile to be
    useful when recording movies.

    Download from the following site...

    Movie Maker - economy
    Movies - profiles custom WMV
    http://www.Papajohn.org/mm2-SavingMovies-CustomProfiles.html

Right click / Save as... drop in the following folder:
    Folder of C:\Program Maker\Shared\Profiles Movie

If you do not have the profiles folder... you
    to create.

In Movie Maker... the next time that you save a movie...
Go to file / save movie file / show more choices.
Other settings / open the window menu and choose...
