Is this a real stop or it just goes to the sleep or Hibernate?  Are the power always turn the machine when she "quit"?  Could it be overheating?  Have you checked to see if the fans are all spinning?  What is a screen saver?  Have you checked for a spyware/adware/virus?

    Hi guys

I had installed up-to-date antivirus software and my problem seems to start after an update from Microsoft. Do a search on the web and you will see similar stories. I spent so much time trying to solve this I think it's better just to do a re-install. Certainly not the resolution I had hoped, but appreciate this type of questions are almost impossible to solve the problems through intermittent mail such messages.

  • Windows Control Panel has stopped working and cannot read the CD

Original title: windows control panel has stopped working

When I went to install my Rosetta Stone program it showed Windows has stopped working and then installed the program and when I put the cd in my computer saids windows control panel has stopped working and cannot read the cd

    Hello

You say "Control Panel has stopped working" or "Windows Explorer has stopped working"?

Follow the steps mentioned in the article below and check if that helps:

Start the computer in a clean boot state

Start your computer in a clean boot state, and check if your computer is able to read the CD. Start your computer in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

While the closure of the pc I got the message: "1 program still needs to be closed: (pending of) task host window's task to stop execution and stop tasks that are already running".but there is no program running and I have to force it to close.how to solve?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Windows, then closing, checks all open programs. If there is, it sends a request for the program to close and wait until the program closes safely, to avoid any loss of data. But, Windows is waiting for some specified
If you are sure that none of the programs are obviously open, you can try the following steps:
Press Windows key + r, Type regedit and pres enter. If UAC prompts, click Yes. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> expand System-> expand CurrentControlSet-> click on command (exapnd no do this). When you click (or select) control, you can see WaitToKillServiceTimeout. Double-click it to change the value. Set the value to 500 or less than that. Click Ok, and then close the registry editor. Now, restart the PC. If the problem persists, stop and try again and check.
Be careful with registry access as incorrect values or remove the unknown keys can prevent Windows to start and it will fix it.

  • Someone used this on me and after a while windows shell program take completely my computer as well as bank accounts

I finally understand what has happened to all computers, I threw out and now it's a. Someone used this on me and after a while windows shell program take completely my computer as well as the account numbers of bank accounts and cards and so on. I got it with computers. I have been a dedicated customer of Microsoft and I can't believe that you would put on such a dangerous program that any computer fool can use to people disrupting. I want to know what I can wip this thing by buying a new hard drive and operating system put this program on this subject before I sitgn on the internet and don't have not this thing happen? I would like to send you the hard drive rinse you these people in the open air where I could get my hands on them. This coswt haqs me more than I want to tell you.

I think that you're wrong in your assessment of what you have been.  "Shell Microsoft Program"?  Please explain.

If configure you your own computer, software Windows XP firewall is enabled, have a decent router (reset and configured with a password before connecting anything to him) between your network and the Internet, and you have changed all your passwords for each account to a password that is hard (15 characters or more containing at least three of the four character types (: uppercase, lowercase, number, and symbol) and checked that each account online has a configuration password recovery method that * you * have you personally (no one else has used your password they obtained to make sure if you have already changed your password, they could get the upper hand) and you have a decent anti-virus software installed. Then you should be fine.

You can Disable Remote Desktop (on Windows XP Professional - you left out the details of your operating system in your rant) and Remote Assistance if that makes you more comfortable or you do not use these functions.

Otherwise - most of it security is common sense stuff.  Do not download or run things do not know the origin of and trust said origin and application.  Do not open unknown emails and instant messages.  If you do not call to get your computer fixed, don't expect sopmeone will call you to fix your computer problem - and if they don't - know it's a scam.  Don't visit questionable websites.  Do not use the computer on a daily basis with a user account that could ruin everything (run as a normal user, not an administrator for your daily activities.)  Keep your system and you have installed - including all antivirus software - up to date/current.  Keep your computer in a locked - room physical security is a top priority.  Backup your important data to external media.  Change your password periodically - because you have a password - most probably someone can get it.  If something is * really * important keep you the 'secret' and protected - encrypt.  Almost every other method can be easily bypassed - encryption, not so much.  Etc and so on...

    Hi Anna1298,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

    Method 1:

Step 1: Start in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2: If the problem does not occur in safe mode, you can put your system to boot (in normal mode) to solve the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 provided in the above article.

Method 2: Try the SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 3: I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.

Let us know if that helps.

If the Windows Installer of Module service is disabled, install or uninstall windows updates may fail.

Check and make sure the installation Module of Windows service is running on the computer

    Hello Ebflute,

I suggest that you perform a repair installation.

    Repair facility:

You can reinstall your copy of Vista while keeping your files, settings and programs by performing a repair install or an upgrade on the spot with the following steps: (Note: this still does not resolve all problems, especially if the corruption was caused by a 3rd party program or service, you may need to do a clean install) (if this is not successful.)

    <><><><><><><><><><><><>

Please make sure that you back up all the important data before you continue. Please visit: methods for your backup files.

Always make sure that you have the means to reinstall your programs, or by an installation disc or access to the installation files.

    <><><><><><><><><><><><>

    1. Insert the Windows installation disc in your computer's DVD or CD drive. You must start Windows installation while running your existing version of Windows.

    2. on the Install Windows page, click install now.

    3. on the get updates for installation page, we recommend getting the latest updates to help ensure a successful installation and to help protect your computer against security threats. You will need an Internet connection to get the installation updates.

    4. on the Type your product key for activation , we strongly recommend that you type your 25-character product key in order to avoid problems during activation.

    5. on the page Please read the terms of the license , if you accept the license terms, click I accept the terms of the license.

    6. to the which type of installation you want? page, click upgrade to begin the upgrade. You can see a compatibility report.

    7 follow the instructions.

Note: If your installation disc doesn't include SP1, and you are updated, then you must uninstall it before proceeding with an update install. Start-> Control Panel-> programs-> see installed updates, then select Service Pack for Microsoft Windows and click on Uninstall.

Note: Tit the following settings is reset by default:

    Its computer system

    Device drivers

    Visual effects

    Windows Mail

    Windows services

If you notice missing files after the upgrade, look in the following folders:

    C:\Windows.old

    C:\$INPLACE.~TR

    C:\$WINDOWS.~Q

These files can be eliminated with disk cleanup as "records destroyed by upgrade to Windows".

    Delete files using disk cleanup
