My Windows XP GMA 3100 monitor goes black randomly and returns

Can someone help me get rid of this nuisance? The connection has no problem. Recently my screen becomes black and returns to normal and usually takes a lot of time to come back :/ I can move my mouse and type using the keyboard and do normal stuff as usual. It seems that the monitor is the problem. Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Borrow another monitor and connect it to your PC, put your monitor on the other PC.  If your monitor keeps going in the dark on another PC then junk and replace it because it is defective.  If the borrowed monitor will Dim on your PC, then you have a video card hardware problem that should be checked.

I begin to suspect my keyboard although it's just a hunch. It's an old v1.0 MS Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000. • Why my monitor goes black after a minute?

I have my standby power setting to turn off the monitor after 15 minutes when it is plugged.  But if I don't move the mouse or press a key for a minute, the screen goes black.  It's very embarrassing, especially if I watch a video.

Is there another setting somewhere that says monitor going black after a minute of no activity?

    Thank you

    PAM

    Hi Pam,.

    Here's another setting worth it.

Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select Personalize.  Click the link to screensaver at the bottom right.  In the next window, adjust the time before the screensaver kicks in the drop "Wait" to a more acceptable value.  Click on apply, then Ok to save the change of the parameter.

  • The program Pro first monitor goes black very frequently

I had a few problems with Premiere Pro because I upgraded to El Capitan last year, but the biggest problem has been the program monitor goes black while editing.

It can happen at any time after the seemingly any task. Once it goes black, the only way to solve this seems to be to quit the application and reopen it. I can always perform any task I want, and you can still hear the audio on playback and washing, but I don't see all the video of the program.

Sometimes I can perform an action until it goes black again, sometimes it may take a few minutes.

I had recently replaced logic board and have installed the latest update of Premiere Pro, but the problem is only getting worse. Today, the software was virtually unusable.

    Data sheet:

    Premiere Pro CC 2015, build 10.3.0 (202)

MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, end 2013) (recently had map logical and retina display, replaced by Apple)

    El Capitan 10.11.5 OSX

Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel Pro Iris 1536 MB

Seems to be common, but perhaps for different reasons, depending on your configuration. These discussions could help:

  • Spectrum x 360: screen goes black randomly when on battery and some energy-saving options enabled

    Hello everyone,

I bought this fantastic machine called spectrum x 360 and I love it.

Unfortunately since the early days I'm facing what I think it's a problem of driver/software (not the related material).

This problem only occurs when I'm on Windows, not in the bios or at the startup. JUST IN Windows envinroment, especially after the login, and when the computer was turned off. Sometimes when I use it after a while, randomly.
This occurs only when the spectrum is on battery. The problem does not appear on AC adapter.

Problem: the screen goes black randomly for a few seconds and then reappear, sometimes the entire image on the right slide and there is a part that looks like yellow and corrupt, then goes black and reappears.

Windows Version: I'm on Windows Home 64 bit, build 14393.321 10 (update of the anniversary).

The entire screen works fine for normal operations, no artifacts.

    Replication of the problem
Initially, I was able to reproduce the problem with the driver build 4360 (which is the version of the driver from the HP site). Whenever I loaded the home page of youtube and the banner has started playing on the screen went black sistematicly.
Then I updated the GPU driver through the Device Manager, which has improved my GPU driver to 21.20.16.4494, as of July 25, 2016 and the problem happens much more rarely.
Now I am facing this problem again but Edge works correctly and is not the cause of the problem, it can appear even when I don't do anything with the PC.

I noticed this problem appears when saving options are enabled for the Intel GPU (I'm trying to translate this to English because the GPU driver Panel is in Italian):

    -update panel houses;
    -advanced mode; energy saving

If I disable these options, the problem does not appear or, better, for I've tested so far, he could not displayed when options are not in market, but I have not tested this very long to be sure.

In my opinion, there is a bug in the display driver, or some customizations made by HP causes problems with the driver.
The rest of the computer works correctly.
Any idea to solve this problem? Or should I keep these options turned off power saving?

    Hi, thanks for your help.

I have a passion for COMPUTING and ex-computer SCIENTIST, I am familiar in surveys on hardware/software questions and hope that this post will help some users get rid of this problem.
Black screens and screen corruption has been issued by the option called "auto refresh Panel" energy saving.
I did a lot of hours on battery (condition where this pop ups problem) in these days and the problem didn't show when it was turned off.
To verify that I tried to activate "Panel options self-identity" in certain occasions and, at random, on the first boot of the machine (after being turned off) the problem arises again.
It certainly is a problem with this energy-saving option.
    Now everything works fine.
If the problem appears again, I will post more information.
    Thank you for your support.

I think it would be useful to stick this post on top in this section of the forum, to be useful to other users and being more visible.

  • iPhone 6 screen goes black randomly. Hard reboot solves the problem temporarily

    Hi all

My iPhone 6 screen goes black randomly (usually during sleep) and when it happens, the fact response to touch or no sound. I know that the phone is on because I can always call another phone and it sounds on the line, but as I said the iPhone does not ring. Hard reboot (press home + power button for a while) will not solve the problem immediately after the restart, but after some time (hours or days), it goes black again and I have to do the same thing.

No idea why this is happening? Is it a software or a hardware problem?  I'm really curious to know how to restart the phone resolves the problem.

I am not able to take it to the bar of the kind of these days because of my busy schedule. I wonder what they need to replace when I take it to the store.

    Please, share your ideas.

    Thank you

Sounds like a problem of software for me, especially because it forces is a troubleshooting step software, and you say that solved the problem (of least temporarily).

However, I still think that the Genius Bar would be a good idea. They have access to diagnoses that are not accessible by the user, who can easily identify which applications or processes are causing the problem. I think that they can also do this by phone, but I rarely call support so I am not sure.

  • T410 monitor goes black intermittently

    Running Windows 7.

I have read similar problems that others have posted, that is the screen turns black during start-up. My machine starts very well, but every few minutes the screen goes black / dies - no backlight.

It takes a minute or two, then the display will return to normal. Then it goes black again. Then it returns to normal. He does not sleep, HARD drive keeps spinning.

I checked the graphics driver - no update available. I reinstalled it in any case. Bed help lenovo thinkvantage - utility-is of no help.

At this point, I wonder about the integrity of the motherboard.

    Help! And thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the quick response.

After validation, it gradually occurred to me that something that I might be the problem. A few months ago, I cut the end of a cable to the wide and plugged VGA on the laptop, using the screws to make a firm connection. The "stump" of cable extended about 20mm, and that I have attached the ethernet cable and the power cable with a cable tie. (This was done to prevent stress on the connections that I move the machine around the room.)

It works very well and has worked without a hitch for months.

As I said, after validation, I started to wonder if the break of the end was the problem - stray strands of son intermittently touching a cable, they should be isolated, in force at random to fill various pins on the VGA output jack.

To test this situation, I upgraded the insulation of the wires from the end cut off and, of course, no more display problems.

(Feeling stupid and clever at the same time.)

The issue I'm having is that my Vaio VPCEE32FX Laptop screen keeps going black. However, I see a faint image on the screen if I shine a flashlight on the subject. Also, I can get the screen to return to normal if I press hard directly on the cell to the right of the track key (where you would have your right Palm while typing) while lifting the lower left corner of the laptop (kindof bending the laptop a bit). I heard that the inverter can fail however when I 'bend' the laptop to 'solve' the problem is far away where the inverter is. Could I have a loose fitting. Y at - it something near the pad mouse that could become loose. I check the hard drive and it is correctly fixed. Help, please!

  • The laptop monitor goes black after the external vga connection screen

    Hey,.

I have a Qosmio G50 - 10H, Windows 7 32-bit. After connecting to an external monitor, the internal laptop display becomes almost black. It is possible to see some items on the screen, but it is dark gray to work on. It does not much adjustment of color or brightness (black to very dark grey). The main problem is when disconnecting the external monitor monitor internal still is dark gray and still does not have many adjustments. It's so dark on the adjustments of brigthest that it is impossible to work. I downloaded the latest version of the driver for the support, but still the same problem.

    Any suggestions?

    It is somewhat strange.
You can switch between LCD and external monitor by using the FN + F5 key combination?
If you can switch to the LCD only again everything OK?
