The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Windows Update keeps wanting to install "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB2618444)", even if it appears in the list of updates to inistalled in the control panel. The installation fails. When I use "Fix it", it indicates that default Windows update data locations have changed, but I can't 'Fix It' to do the repair. In what could be a related issue, Windows Data Execution Prevention (part of IE 8?) detects a malfunctioning or malicious add-on, whenever I try to access a video on ESPN3 and closes the Web page. However, 'Fix It' can not detect any problems with the modules. I don't know what else to try to fix any of these problems.

Windows Live essential (KB2434419) keeps wanting to install
The update above keeps wanting to install even if he has already made at least three times. I continue to be ignored, but it doesn't go away. I thought after installing one last time it can disappear, but it does not work. Any ideas? It is a 156 MB update.
Tip: Use the hotkey Alt + Tab 'scroll' your open windows and see if there is a 'hidden' window with a question related to Windows Live Essentials 2011 (for example, you want to install all applications or only some of them?).
You can find support for the installation/uninstall/upgrade / upgrade to Windows Live Essentials 2011 in this forum: http://windowslivehelp.com/forums.aspx?forumid=a372972e-8e7a-4d85-adc3-a1b43e8c02ec -
My Dell 1014 works on Windows Vista and I want to install Windows XP on it. When I insert the XP CD and try to install, the system throws a message saying that I am trying to install a version that is older than the version that I already have. How to solve this problem?
original title: Windows XP installationHi Ribhu,
How did you start the Windows XP installation? This is the start of the Windows CD or Windows itself?
You can try a new installation of Windows XP after formatting the hard drive Vista and check.
You can consult the following wire link and check if it helps.

I just formatted my laptop and every time I try to intall service pack 1 for windows vista as it gets installed but when I turn the LAPTOP works again it ask me to update? What should I do
Hello
Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.
It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.
Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.
Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30
Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299
Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468
Vista SP2 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17669
And if you have any problems:

Software installed but when I wanted to run it know my version of obsolete components DLLS are not compatible with this version of windows
I installed programs:
Software individual professor teaches Super Set
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx
Windows Vista Compatibility Center
First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/
If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all. This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.
If it's Vista compatible > uninstall it > Re-download/save to your desktop > right click on setup.exe O run as admin.
See you soon.

Original title: update replication
Hey there. I recently did a factory reset and now I can't seem to install service pack 1... It says its installed but when I search for new upates I get the same so far again and again and again. any ideas?
I don't think it is a good update of the service pack, a because it was only 1.9 MB, but every once its installed, I look for new updates and get the same thing. its driving me crazy. I can't keep getting my system at a speed without this service pack
Hi Jools101,
You can try the following steps and check if it helps:
Method 1:
You can check the update history if the Service pack is installed or not. If impossible to install, then checkfor codes error.
a. click Start, all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.
c. double-click the update has failed to check the error codes.
For more information, see the article:
See the Windows updates are installed
Method 2:
You can check the article to reset the Windows Update components and check if it helps.

You can run the latest version of iTunes for your version of Windows, but you are not running the latest version of iTunes is available and it's iTunes 12.3. You must run Windows 7 at least. I'm not a Windows user, but I think 7 is newer than XP.
