  • WiFi connected but unknown network and internet access

    Hello

I think I've read enough forums and done enough research I finally post my question. My other laptop is Dell Inspiron 1545. It connects to my home network, but says unknown network and no internet access. I tried wifi and ethernet cable. The IP address is set to auto detect, I have reset the router, reinstalled the drivers for the card wifi, without success. Any ideas?

    -Taylor

Only, I solved this problem on my Dell XPS, so I decided to share with the community.

After the call to Dell and discover my warranty had expired (a little more than one year) and knowledge it would cost me $129 to get a response from time, I decided to go look for solutions. I found a thread of 2009, attributing the cause to a thing of access network Mcaffee. I knew that's the question because I don't personally like the major anti virus makes (they tend to pull up of stunts like this) so I had ripped my PC McAfee, as soon as I started. But this thread has helped me understand how to solve this problem.

The problem seems to be an Agent of network access Protection on your system configuration (your start up programs). Make sure it is off. It wouldn't hurt also to try to disable the Internet Explorer ETW Collector Service (has a name shady so I nuked it too: P). this fixed my connection problem not identified immediately.

    Follow these steps (Windows 7):

    1. click on start.

    2. click on search at the bottom bar.

    3. type: msconfig

    4. press enter

    5. you should have a new window named System Configuration

    6. click on the Services tab.

    7. scroll down until you find: Network Access Protection Agent. It will be defined as stopped. It's normal.

    8. uncheck the box next to the network access Protection Agent.

    9. click on OK.

    10. restart your computer.

Your internet connection should work now. If this is not the case, repeat the procedure until step 6, and then follow these steps:

    1. scroll down until you find: Internet Explorer collector Service to ETW. It will be defined as stopped. It's normal.

2 uncheck Internet Explorer collector Service to ETW.

    3. click on OK.

    4 restart your computer.

If these two steps don't fix your problem, go back to the Configuration of the system (Services tab) and it look for any other Network Access Protection Agent, such as Macafee named ones or something similar. Please be aware that uncheck essential services can cause pc problems, so make sure you know what you're unchecking before you do. If in doubt, feel free to google it.

Another solution would be to temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall and see if that helps. If Yes, then you know where you need to focus.

Good luck and hope it works!

  • I get "this connection is untrusted" on each site. How to solve this problem?

One day I started to use my PC and I couldn't get the eyebrows at any site, same www.google.com without receiving SSL warning. If I confirm security exception, the page loads correctly. Technical details below

5 sites are working on IE
    6. I use Firefox 29,0/1

I was able to find and correct the problem.

Under "View certificate" The issued common name and organization both said Sendori, Inc.. This is clearly wrong, because Google sign their own certificates.

I have not explicitly installed Sendori, but I got some software that I installed Verizon fios, which must have been using Sendori. Once I have remove these programs under "programs and features" the problem disappeared.

After further research, it is a known issue and Sendori caused this problem for others in the past.

  • Try to connect to the wireless computer after freshly installed Windows says I am connected to the router, but I have no internet access

    Original title: connection problem

Hello! I recently did a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and I use a wireless USB adapter. Windows says I am connected to the router, but I have no internet access, and I have this yellow on trinagle. Work of all my other Windows 7 PCs, but this one. Could someone help me? Thank you!

    Hello

Welcome to the community forums of Microsoft and thanks for posting the question. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue. I see that you are unable to connect to the wireless network after you perform a new installation.

I suggest you to consult the steps described in the article:

    Method 1:

You can try the steps in the link and check.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

You can update the driver of windows 7 on the manufacturer's Web site.

    Method 2:

You can remove and re-create the wireless network connection, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, type ncpa.cpl , and then press on Enter.
    b. right click on your wireless network connection and then click Properties.
    c. click the wireless networks tab.
    d. under preferred networks, click your Wireless
network and then click on remove. e. click on view Wireless networks.
    f. under management of the network, click refresh the network list.
    g. under Choose a wireless network, click the wireless network to which you want to connect, and then click Connect.

    Method 3:

If the steps above don't you can uninstall and reinstall the NIC drivers and check with the question.

    a. click on Start menu, in the Search tab type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.

    b. right click on network adapters and click Uninstall and restart the computer.

    c. after rebooting, install network cards and check with the question.

    Method 4:

You can temporarily disable the antivirus and firewall on the computer and see if it helps:
    Enable or disable Windows Firewall
NOTE: Turn off Windows Firewall might make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.
You can see the following link to disable the Antivirus installed on your computer software.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

Please follow these recommended steps and post if you still experience the problem. I'd be happy to help you further.

  • I can create a password for my wireless connection, but it still says that there is no guarantee. What should I do?

I will create a password to my wireless connection, but he said still not guaranteed.  I'm doing something wrong?  I have windows 7 and use an ATT router.  I can't understand why I can't have a password, even if she gives me the opportunity to make a.

There are safe areas normally two on a wireless router - one is the password to connect to the router and change its settings and the second is the Security (e.g. WPA2) wireless mode and the key.  This is the second (setting a mode of wireless security and the key) will change the label on your connection wireless "Unsecured."  You probably need to review instructions specific to your model of router in order to change the settings of the router.
