N600 WNDR3400V2

When I plug my (desktop) computer to my modem (hard wired) I get about 300 Mbps. When I connect my computer to my router (hard wired) I get only around 92mbps. When I log into the genius of netgear, he said that I should get up to 300 Mbps, but as I said it's only around 92mbps. I have the latest firmware and even tried to revert to a version with the same results earliar. It is on all parameters of stock, so I don't know that it is a parameter. Any suggestions?

Glen

According to the manual of the WNDR3400v3 are noted all ports, LAN and WAN 10 / 100 Mbps.

Page 108.

LAN

10BASE-T or 100BASE-Tx, RJ-45

WAN

10BASE-T or 100BASE-Tx, RJ-45

So you can not exceed this rate when a wired connection is needed, including from the modem to the router.

You would need a gigabit router to reach your full flow ISP, anything of a WNDR3700 upwards in the range.

  • WNDR3400V2 (RN600) router - wireless repeating with Wireless Modem Arris

I need help. I have an Arris wifi Modem (TG862) - recently installed when moving into a new House and the signature to the top for cable internet. I have a problem with weak wifi signal in the rear rooms - with signal drop. I have the spare WNDR3400V2 - so, how can I use it to boost my signal, preferably wireless? I have trouble to get the right settings when you configure as Repeater with different guides does not not exactly to my hardware. I don't have too much knowledge on this and how do it, but any help will be appreciated. The PC in the bedroom becomes signal well enough, I'm fighting to get compatible with phones wifi...

In order to strengthen the signal on the desired location, run a long ethernet cable from the modem to the NETGEAR router.

Still, there is no way for these 2 devices to be connected wireless to the other.

Hi, I have a new DELL Inspiron (Windows 10) with a 'Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3165"which is impossible to connect to the router N600-WNDR3400V3. Other existing devices like Android, iOS, and printer are connected through the router and work very well. I get the message "Check network requirements" and a moment later get "unable to connect to this network. The wired connection works fine. I have disabled access and even control tried to 'None' security briefly. But, without success. Also connected to an another non-NetGear router wireless connection earlier, which suggests that the problem is specific to the environment of NetGear.

    Any help is appreciated. TIA.

    Found the problem.

Once I had updated the firmware on the router sometimes, back needed me a hard reset of the router. Everything is back to normal now.

  • N600 Time Warner issue

    Hello!

I bought and used my N600 with Comcast year last year in Chicago, with no problems. I moved to Dallas yesterday and tried to get my internet set in place. Hooked upward, called Time Warner (TWC) to give them the MAC address, but we couldn't work (even if Netgear and TWC claim only he I compatible). They say they can see that everything is active and seems perfect for their purpose, we tried factory reset the router, but can't make it work. They want to send me one of their modems/routers. I can connect to the router via an Ethernet cable and wifi, but when I try to access the Internet, nothing comes through. Looked at the router site, through engineering, but couldn't understand how to operate. Any advice?

We had previously tried to do a factory reset, but that did not work.

But I have an update - the Time Warner Cable modem/router came, I plugged it called TWC, they turned on, I was able to connect to internet, I plugged the N600 and then asked them to check the MAC address, it took a few minutes but started working.

Maybe it was a question of MAC address, but I think that there is something that they have turned on their end.

    Thanks for your help!

  • WNDR3400v3 (N600 router) cannot recognize all printers on Readyshare

Hi, first time announced! I just bought a N600 (WNDR3400v3) router and has difficulties with ReadyShare.

-J' was able to connect an external to the router and I can access through my computer!

-However, both printers I've tried to connect have not been recognized. They are a HP1006 and a Brother DCP 7040. On the routerlogin.net and soft Netgear engineering, say that there is just no USB not connected under the section ReadyShare. When I open the control center USB Netgear, I don't see any printer listed.

Any thoughts? Is it possible that BOTH printers are incompatible with this router?

    Thank you!

    Davis

I apologize, I thought wrongly that you have WNDR4xxx

The WNDR3400 isn't compatible ReadyShare Print.

See thisarticle for more information. Supported routers are listed on the right side of the article.

  • Connect a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 to router Netgear N600 loss of internet connection.

Whenever the OfficeJet printer is connected to one of the ethernet to a Netgear N600 router ports, the internet connection is lost. Internet works without any complications, if the printer is not connected to the network. As soon as the ethernet cable from the printer is connected to the router (or a network switch) the internet connection is lost. If I look at the devices using the Netgear browser interface, everything seems appropriate. The printer uses DHCP and you will receive various IP addresses according to what remains is connected (e.g. 192.168.1.3). I've narrowed the problem to the printer, causing the loss of connectivity internet thie. Attach only my computer to the router (may be an iMac or a Windows XP system), internet works fine, plug the printer results in a loss of interest. Printer works fine and the documents can be printed after you connect to one of the ethernet ports.

I tried to set a static IP address on the printer (e.g. 192.168.1.100) so that the attribution of a static address with the interface of Netgear using the MAC address of the printer - no approach fixes the problem. Netgear support is perplexed (they have even sent a replacement router, thinking it was defectiive, the two routers show the same problem). I have reset the printer to its default settings in order to eliminate potential conflicts with modified parameters. I also tried to change the speed of the link to something else than "Automatic", nothing seems to work.

We will define an external static IP and DNS address for the printer.  I think that the external DNS will do the trick.

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

  • How can I choose the band 5G when connecting on a Linksys N600 E2500

I just bought a Linksys N600 E2500 and I see that it is dual band, so my question is: is it possible that I can connect my macbook pro on the band 5G? Looking at my settings wireless for my mac, I see that it is plugged into the 2G. However, I could connect my smart TV on 5G. My previous wireless router I had gave me this options to connect to a 2G or 5G.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have an early 2013 Mac book Pro OS x 10.9.4. Thank you!

The MBP can see the SSID of 5G at all? Disable the wireless on the MBP and then turn it back on and let rescan for SSID names.

Remove all wireless profiles that have been used previously under preferences/Networking/Wireless.

Be sue that the different SSID on every radio on the router. It is not recommended to use the same SSID.

Try single N, WPA2 only, automatic and manual of 48 channels, or 149 channel width on the router.

If I recall it right click on the card and select Properties. There should be a Wireless tab that lists the connections.
