Name of screws to fix HDD caddy in X201t?

I lost the screws when exchanging the disk. They are the four metal screws with cylindrical heads.

Hello

I think they're M3 plate screws, 4mm long.

Kind regards

  • HP dv4 1506tx: HDD Caddy to repalce my optical drive in hp dv4 1506tx

I'm looking for a caddy drive HARD replace my optical drive. But in the optical drive connector doest have a SATA connecot. Instead, he has something like this in the image. Is it possible to replace it with a HARD drive caddy so I can have a second hard drive. Help, please.

You cannot use the same caddy for a hard drive. The SATA connector to an optical drive is smaller than the SATA connector to a hard drive. As I said this piece of black connector on the back of your caddy has a plug on the back side that goes into the mini-SATA in the back of an optical drive. The other side has these weird things of connector. It comes off if you remove the screws holding it.

HARD drive adapter optical has a mini-SATA as a scanner to the outside, then a Bay inside that has a size hard disk adapter. Like this.

Just take that black thing on the back of your optical drive caddy and place it on the back of this linked above adapter or a similar one.

  • USFF OptiPlex 755 for HDD Caddy/RAILS part number?

I inherited 8 eight Optiplex 755 USFF machines (ULTRA SMALL FORM FACTOR). They lack all their hard drives, and I just realized under the cover that it is just a metal container lack the blue part plastic caddy/rails. I'll have a terrible time trying to find the part number appropriate because everyone online tags their photos with about 10 different 7xx Optiplex models, ranging from unspecified SFF and rarely find USFF.

I know a picture is worth a 1000 words, but if I had one I would probably be able to find the part number. On the 755 Mini Tower there blue bins or carts that drives staple in and then you slide on the machine. The USFF is a set of blue rails that screw in the HARD drive or is it a similar caddy? I have a lot of them (from 755MT and Precision workstations) laying around, but these blue trays do not adapt the 755 USFF.

To clarify a bit more. There is a metal drawer/box HARD drive to staple in. This metal tray screws down on the chassis. It is a small square fan that screws into the metal tray so the part I'm looking for is the part in blue plastic to HARD drive only WITHOUT fan, just the part that securely attaches the disk of the machine.

Thanks for any help. When I entered some of the ST in the Dell website they specify HARD drive that machines shipped with but do not specify the part number for the tray/caddy drive HARD blue.

    Thank you.

Here are therefore 7000 words on this subject. For USFF disc trays are not blue and they are not plastic. Point 4 is called the HARD disk in the tray of PG027. The drive tray has PLASTIC fixing Rails (2 required), USFF: U2836 that keep you in the PG027plateau.

  • Macbook Pro Optibay 2012 + 750 GB Vibration HDD Caddy

    Hello

I recently replaced the Superdrive on my mac with a drive caddy hard metal and put it in a Western Digital Black 750 GB 7200 RPM hard drive. I use a 480 GB SSD in the original HARD drive location. Has anyone had problems with the vibrations? My MacBook vibrates a bit and it is very annoying. I was wondering if this is normal? I used a cheap metal on eBay cart. What is the caddy? Mid-2012 13' 2.5 ghz 8 GB ram

Not normal. Check your installation and/or contact the developer/vendor for support. I used data from OWC reinforcements with satisfaction and without vibrations.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!

It is a very good question. I recommend www.usedpdaparts.com, www.pdaparts.com or your nearest hardware store. Palm does not sell individual parts and parts for these devices, but you might be able to find what you are looking for through the use of 3 parts. I really hope that you will find what you need, and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

  • dv5-2070us screws for hdd insecure on the laptop

I watched the service manual for this laptop and images on hard drive showed the screws to secure the hard drive on the laptop, but hard drive of my notesbook does not have slot machines, a carter or holes to put the screws on. The hard drive is just lying with cable connection on the motherboard.  Without screws to fix the hard disk, it will be sensitive to vibrations or 'clash '. Could be a factor for the hard disk to fail?

Yes you can attach screenshots. There are icons in the toolbar above the 'Show the Message' box, and one to the right the 'link' is to display images.

  • Satellite A300D-13R - support metal Secundary HDD

    Hi all I have a Toshiba Satellite A300D - 13R paskoe.
Well, my question is where can I get the metal Secundary HDD support that goes with 4 screws to fix the disc... If I have SATA connectors?

Because I can't find any site for purchase. Thank you

I assume that you need HARD drive caddy. It is not easy to find an online store where you can order. I don't know in which country have you but living and if it is possible to find something, but try on eBay. I ve found many parts and laptop hardware components there.

What you can also do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service in your country. They must have it also.

  • Tecra W50 - cannot start when installing the second hard drive (caddy).

    Hi all
    I have a Tecra W50 PT640A 04103NN1.
When a second hard drive is installed in the Bay of DVD player cell phone will try to boot from the drive bay, not the internal drive
This second drive has no operating system installed and so the fails to start.

If I hit F12 at startup and select HARD drive, while the machine starts correctly. That is starts on the main hard drive.
Change the order of boot in the BIOS makes all the difference; He will always try to boot from the second drive bay drive first.

All known A it works correctly?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Doppelfrog,
I had the same problem with my W50, got my HDD caddy a few days ago.
You have a bit of luck to fix this problem?
I believe that the Bios for this laptop is not developed to serve both drives (like the computer I had that one drive Bay) and it is not possible to prioritize the witch THAT HDD should start first...

    Kind regards

Until you find HDD caddy put the HARD drive in place and fix it a bit with aluminum foil, just to be sure it will not move during the use of laptop. Don t cover all HARD drive with just one make smallholders and attach the HARD drive in place.

I did it on my old L300.
