• Multiple comparisons on a single Data Source: NaN vs large number

  Hi all

  Work in 2013 of TestStand and came across a situation by measures of DMM, in which several values would be acceptable for the comparison of the limit.  For example, if I make a measure of resistance, and I expect to be a very high value, for example more than 1 M, I would insert that as the lower limit.  However, there are also situations when I could see the result of "NaN" on the meter.  For the purposes of the test, any number greater than 1 M would be acceptable, but a result of NaN would also be acceptable.  In an effort to keep the modular code and reusable for many cases, I'm curious to know if there is a way in TestStand to compare the result of the test against two values at the same time, (i.e. > 1 M OR = NaN).  Please notify.  Thank you.

  I use the function to calculate the value of a table mode and it returns NaN. Help of LabVIEW says that she only returns NaN at the entry of the array is empty. I don't know why this is happening. My table is

  In this case, NaN means that no method has been found.  Look at it this way... you have a group of numbers and say to LabVIEW for break in 1000 separate "bins." If each tray has only 1 value in it, then there is no mode - no value that appears more often than other values.

  For all of your data, any number of intervals of < =="" 14="" will="" return="" a="" mode.=""  any=""> 15 returns NaN.

• Why does the period display NaN? What does it mean "NaN"?

  I have a vi that is supposed to measure values of period 3 and 2 tension using DAQmx.  The vi is attached.

  When I run the vi, I get no error, but one of the counters display NaN instead of a period (in seconds) value.  Why would this counter not appearing?  See the .jpg image of the screenshot, which shows the lights on the front panel, after execution and stop the vi.  Note that the period 2 shows "NaN" but, period 1 and 3 show a real value.  "NaN" only displays in "period 2" executing too. ' " "Period 2" never displays a numeric value.  Moreover, as "NaN" actually mean?

  NaN means not 'a number '.

  In your code, Mean.vi will return NaN (with the error-20003) if the input array is empty.

  What happens if you connect the signal of the 1 meter or 3 to counter 2? If NaN disappears, then there is a problem with the signal currently connected to the meter 2.

  1. Your current code, using usrs to (unitialized shift registers), will produce NaN when running for the first time.
  
  
  2. The size of the usrs to will increment at each iteration.
  
  
  3. If your VI is used as a Subvi, the means will be bad for the first 15 iterations since they will be calculated with the values of the usrs to--> previous lengths.

  You must use PtByPt.vi means that will calculate the average of the X last values without above mentioned problems.

  I got a code made by my colleague who is no longer with us. In a column of table 8 and not generated by program. lines to initialize all values such as NaN values. I've never met before NaN values.

  Hi all

  I'm using Labwindows CVI 2015 (v 15.0.0) and I faced a problem where the symptoms where:

  • Features of AutoComplete does not
  • LabWindows CVI does not respond when you try to close the IDE

  This was happening with only one of my projects.  After investigation, it happened because I was to initialize some variables global (before the main function) by using the constant NAN or NotANumber function.

  Once, I replaced the NaNs by a finite value and initialized global variables for the most part, or in any other function the two symptoms mentioned previously disappeared.

  I don't know if it is an expected behavior but I Although it is sharing the information that I found nothing else on these symptoms on the Internet.

  It is another aspect of this bug.

  Even if it is another matter, the cause is the same. We intend to fix this in a future release.

  The solution for this case is to do the initialization in a function (for example in the beginning of the great instead of global scope.

• Output of NaN - Urgent

  I use DAQc 9172 chassis and get the temperature using the NI 9205 and NI 9217 module pressure. I get the result correctly in the file vi. I use version see 8.2.1 lab. But when I build the executable (Application.exe) and use it for execution to the stand-alone PC that has already been installed with only (LV version 8.5) or-DAQmx and runtime Engine, get the values of pressure and temperature as NaN.

  However, the application.exe file works well in the main PC that has been installed with Labview 8.2.1.

  Can someone help me solve this problem?

  On the stand-alone pc, make sure that the numbers are exactly the same as on the development computer. Also, if you used MAX to create the scale of the task/custom, etc., you want to export hardware configuration and import it on the stand-alone pc.

  I'm just trying to see if an INI file exists, so I created the following excerpt:

  When I run the program of LV with C:\test.ini, my indicators come out as NaN/Path? : false, NaN/Refnum? : true

  I tried to interpret as (1) a path valid (this file exists) and (2) a refnum does not exist (even if the refnum came from a sub - VI provided by LV).

  I then replaced by control (find file) C:\test.in (sliced final 'i') and the two indicators gave me the same results. That really impressed my first interpretation, and I can't come up with anything else that makes sense.

  Thus, for paths and refnums, what happens here, if anything?

  I saw that the second test threw an error of the Sub - VI 'Open Data of Config', so I can use it for my test, but I would like to know if the NaN... function is actually good for something other than numbers. If this isn't the case, IMHO LV should change its designation on the pallet.

  That you use in a puzzling oddity of LabVIEW refnums. To check if a configuration file refnum is valid, you must not use "a given Config Refnum.vi" in the range of screw Configuration file. The ' NaN/path/Refnum?' function works only for refnum types that are built-in LabVIEW, such as queues, TCP sockets and file references. The screw configuration file are built in LabVIEW, LabVIEW rather than integrated and refnums they use are not 'real' refnums in terms of LabVIEW, they are just data wrapped as reference datalog (something for the creation of unique types of pseudo-refnum). You will see several other pallets which also includes their own functions in order to check whether a refnum is valid, such as pallets of semaphores and appointment management.

  When you look in VI, you can see that the final calculation involves distribution of the 'r' by the size of the Y input. Therefore, when you leave the entry is empty you will have size 0 which end in "Infinity" which is displayed as NaN therotically. Can you show what are the inputs X and Y in that you are breastfeeding?

  It's your use of local variables.  Even if a sequence structure is designed to make you think everything will be in order, it's just an illusion.  All local variables are read, from the VI is executed, but they are all zero until the calculations take place.  Connect your results and discharge the two people in the country and the structure of sequence and you will get what you expect.

  Oh and, in race conditions.  Something to keep in mind that you will learn to program in LabVIEW is that you rarely need a local variable.

  Hi, I'm trying to take a 2-d I32 numbers table, select a background value say 131586, what is easy to detect, but the little I have problem with actaully defining occurrences in the Nan so their trace on a graphics surface will leave holes that show better my data.

  I tried the classics like deviding by 0, multiplying by infinite etc... but they all sem return either + inf or 0.

  you just type "NaN" in are digital, but it must be done in DBL for a reason any.

  Various positions have been in the past to the deletion of items in a table. I'm sure that you took the time to research before you posted, right? In any event it seems not that order is important here, so the best way to proceed is to sort the array and then search for the first occurrence of NaN. Just do a comparison on the subset of the front table of this index.
