National Instruments PCI - 1410 Image grabber in Labview

What type of input node must be used to take images from a camera connected to the NI PCI-1410 image grabber Labview map.

Thank you.

-Tim

You should use screws under the Vision and movement"NOR-IMAQ palette.  "" However, the easiest way to see an example of work is to open OR example Finder and go to the hardware section of entrance and exit "IMAQ" high-level.  Open Grab.vi HL or HL Snap.vi as good examples of images during the extraction of your capture card.

You will see that there is not a specific entry node that you will use.  You use the function Init IMAQ and pass a string value for the Interface name. You can also use Vision Acquisition Express VI.

  • some computers cannot acquire images using the PCI-1410

I have a big problem in the acquisition of the images using the PCI-1410.

It was a standard camera (SONY XC-ES). The test of the device is OK with my computer.

I can not get a correct image via MAX. Also, I try to use the file of the camera for that camera.

But it did not work properly.

I consulted it toward the Korea of NEITHER and they discover THAT PCI-1410 worked properly with different computers.

So, I try to change PC. Most of my computers cannot acquire the image even if the unit is OK of MAX.

However, only a few computer works properly. (Work computers are from SAMSUNG. The other

computers that did not work propely, were assembled in the lab.) (I have tested almost 6 computers for this purpose.)

The problem is that there are at least 3-4 PCI ports for our applications. The work computer (SAMSUN) only has 2 ports PCI.

What should I do to select the right computers? I can't buy dozens of computers to test the PCI-1410.

Why is this kind of problem occurs?

Thanks in advance for your advice. (Email: [email protected])

    Hello

We also had a lot of problems in the past with different PCs and the problem came from the motherboard. Since that time, we only use motherboards with intel because we know that labview works very well with them.

It was 2 or 3 years ago, and I thought that the problem has been resolved since then... you know the type of motherboards you use?

  • Error 1 has occurred to C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\VideoMASTER\bin\VideoMASTER.dll\Check Size.vi of data

Ok... Seriously I'm banging my head against the wall here.

I'm using LabVIEW 2011 SP1.  VideoMASTER 3.1!  I have compiled mass screw on the 2011 folder.  It does nothing good.  2 machines to put up with the same versions of LV and VMS.

I use the VBF in Image file VI niVMS to convert .vbf files to jpg.  I browse to folder of waveforms in the public domain for VideoMASTER and select the native C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\VideoMASTER\Waveforms\480p RGB OmniGen.vbf file.  I then monostable it in the same folder as the jpg file.  I get the following error:

    "Error 1 occurred in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\VideoMASTER\bin\VideoMASTER.dll\Check Size.vi of data.

    Possible reasons:

LabVIEW: An input parameter is not valid. For example if the input is a path, the path can contain a character not allowed by the operating system such as? or @.

NOR-488: command requires GPIB controller charge controller. »

On computer A, I do NOT get this error (in fact, everything works fine for all files).

On computer B, I get the error.

Do the same for the vbf HDMI file in the folder of waveforms and it works very well.

Do the same for the 480 p file, but a bmp file and no error, however the bmp file is corrupted with no data.

I need to know what is happening in the bowels of this dll.  Maybe I'm missing a codec on Machine B?  It seems that I'm missing a dependency for this file type.  If so how would I know which?  VMS I reinstalled several times.  I copied the dll over the Machine A.  I checked is NOT a licensing problem.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

Jigg, with some quick research, it seems that the accident that you see can be related to do not call the niVMS function initialize before VBF to picture file feature.  Please try to run each of the screws after the launch of LabVIEW 2011 and see if you get the same results, and also adding the Initialize works in your code solves the problem.  If so, it seems that it will be your workaround solution, but we will also file a bug report; crash is not an expected way to treat this condition.

Edit: Also, if you have other versions of LabVIEW, 2012, etc., which you can compare run this code, we would be interested in the results.

    Hey Alok,.

This error code means that the revision of the map is more recent and not yet supported by the driver.  That the release of new versions of the same map with new features, the ID usually changes requiring a new version of DAQmx.  Try upgrading to the latest version of DAQmx and try again.

While you're there.  See if you can find the product ID located in Device Manager (if you are using Windows).  Once in the Device Manager, right click on the device and click Properties.  Go to the Details tab, and then copy the entire string that is displayed under "Device Instance Id".  It should look something like PCI\VEN_xxxx & DEV_xxxx...  Paste in a reply in this thread can I be sure of your problem.

  • Best method for updating CompactRIO data to Server "National Instruments.Variable Engine.1"

Hi all, I have an OPC Client of third-party I want to use for testing with the CompactRIO. Can I specify 'National Instruments.Variable Engine.1' in the OPC server, create a new item of the mutual FUND, go to a variable and then see its value. I use a CompactRIO and I want to send the updated data that I am acquisitionning of for third-party Client OPC, then, what is the best method? Currently, what works, is that I created a shared variable published to network on the LabVIEW host that I dragged in the CompactRIO project. I've created a small loop increment value every 500ms. I then created on the host computer, a little VI, who issued this national value to "" Instruments.Variable Engine.1". Now, is there a better way to do his? Is it something that can automatically fill in manually the Variable of the CompactRIO motor without publishing the shared inside a LabVIEW application variables? Thank you for your time, best regards!

Thanks a lot for your replies, Drew,.

I downloaded the OPC UA API and it will next week.

    Thanks again!

  • The svs4050 camera is supported by National Instruments hardware?

Hello, I would like to know if the svs4050 camera is supported by National Instruments hardware?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Well, when you have a time-out error, it's because your camera is wainting for a trigger signal capture images. If no signal is provided, the camera returns a time-out error. The duration of the time-out period is around 5000ms by default but can be changed.

Basically, you will find a setting called trigger mode in the settings, choose the trigger off or FreeRun.

  • Exposure / white - black voltage settings on the PCI-1410 acquisition card

    Hello

I use a PCI-1410 acquisition card and have written acquisition software in Visual Basic .NET.

In measurment studio there is a button that automatically sets the tensions black and white, based on the tensions of entry on the channel.

I want this impliment into my VB.NET code.  I am aware of the 'CWIMAQ. BlackReferenceVolt "and"CWIMAQ. " WhiteReferenceVolt' properietes, BUT is there something that will automatically adjust the tensions?  I ask because I don't have background no function that will probe to find what is the maximum and minimum voltage that is nessasary to dynamically set the tensions.

  • Image Matching with Labview or model

    Hi all!

I am currently implementing a picture matching algorithm on two .png images (let's call them model and Photo).

The idea is that the template contains an examply of which must be shown in a certain part of the picture.

Model and photography have sizes of different images.

What we want to achieve is:

1 find the return on investment in the Photo where the model is likely to be found

    2. compare the KING with the real model

    3. get a percentage of similarity (e.g. 90% similar-> specific Match, 70 to 89 %-> accordingly Match Possible, <70%similar -="">not a match)

Do you have ideas on how we might put implement this?

We currently use LABView 2015 SP1 - 32 bit with the add-on of the Vision

We had to use a modified version of the model Inspection.vi Golden (can be found) but are blocked because the IMAQ compare continues Golden Template Module return the error message attached to this post.

Any comment on the possible debug is also welcome!

    Thank you!

A model is *.png with info vision (for example, settings, info, etc.). You must create the model using model editor which should be installed and accessible from the start menu.

  • Save image as .jpg Labview

    Hello

I would like to know how can I open a picture in Labview and save it in ".jpg".

because I know how to import an image in labview and I know how I can save this image, but when I save the image, it shows that it is "example.jpg", but she's not "jpg" because it's very large. I think the "JPG" image but it's "BMP".

I import an image with 5 MB and remove part of it in Labview and when I save it, the output is with 30 MB.

How can I save in "". "" JPG ". and how can I do to keep the image is not so great.

    Thank you.

    Eliel says:

I use the development vision and I'm saving with "IMAQ vision info file 2 and write Image '... I see that this tool save in format "PNG".

How can I save in 'JPEG '?

You have IMAQ write file 2 instead of writing with the info of the Vision. It's polymorphic VI. With the right click of the mouse, you can select Type JPEG:

    Hello

I have been using a PCI-7811R under LabVIEW 8.2 for quite awhile without difficulties. However, I just upgraded to LabVIEW 2009 and it seems to have stopped working.

I tried to run old code (that worked before) and I get the attached error. I try and locate the PCI-7811R in MAX ver 4.7.7 and he's not here.

  • Bad PCI-1405 image quality

I just got a fg PCI-1405 to replicate an old Imaging System. I use a Sony XC - ST50 (PAL) monochrome camera.

The image quality is poor. He has a blurry pixelated, look to it. I remember that the last time I bought the fg of low-end of NOR, I had a similar problem and had to switch to the Commission more expensive which worked very well. I find it had to believe that NEITHER would sell a POS, so what am I doing wrong? Is there some sort of configuration that I'm missing?

Note: I have the camera set up like a PAL camera standard.

    Thank you!

It is a device of XC-ST50CE. However, I was playing around with some parameters. This combination gave me good results:

    Luma - full bandwidth

    Luma comb - disabled

    Trap of Chroma - off

    Luma peaked - disabled

Bandwidth of Chroma - high (probably any)

Comb of Chroma - off (probably any)

Treatment of Chroma - always off (probably any)

You also need the Vision runtime installed.

  • Various support material National Instruments that are not signed or?

Hi, I want to know if I want to remotely control a Power suply programmable via rs232 with labview, do I have a power suply of OR or can I use any kind?

No, the equipment you use should not be made by NOR.  LabVIEW tolerate anything out there, but you can be on your own for drivers.  Sometimes, someone has programmed your device drivers already.  They are usually displayed in the page drivers.  You can use these programs conduct as the beginning of your code, putting them where you want.

Example; I have a DMM 195 Keithley I want to program for.  I search "Drivers Keithley DMM 195" on ni.com.  I get

    http://sine.NI.com/apps/UTF8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=146

I connect and download the drivers.  It takes really worth of com controls or programming GPIB protocols when you have a base like that.  Older or more social facilities do not have the pilots, in which case, good luck!

Most labview code, at least in the areas of research, is done on the material non - OR.  NOR has given us a highly flexible base to use with a large number of pieces of equipment, that's why we stick with labview and NOR, even if we are unable to use their material.
