NB100 - internet access disabled

Hello.

Any comments on this issue, I do experience would be much appreciated!

I have a toshiba NB100, unused until a few days ago.

I've implemented it upwards in order to go online - access to broadband home hub I - and so went online for the first time using the built-in internet Explorer option.

The machine didn't have MacAfee on it and so I downloaded this, after having been online a few very brief times overall.

Now, when I try to go online using the Explorer, the following message appears - "Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." We are sorry for the inconvenience. "If you click on one of the two available options -"send error report"or"don't send", Internet Explorer simply stops. There is not the choice of the next shot, it just stops.

Is this a virus of exploitation? McAfee shows that there is no virus. I notice that the 'web address' that indicates when clicked on Internet Explorer (when it shows the message "problem") is not a generic address "google" but a very specific (it's of google.co.uk/followed by various numbers and numbers).

If one tries to "restore system" (IE restore to a point * before * the problem with internet access started occurring), this is not possible - it is perhaps also the virus running... one can only restore to a point after the problem occurred.

Any advice/help appreciated WD! Thank you!

Hello

Try another Web browser like Firefox.
For several days my IE (internet Explorer) automatically closes and I received some strange error messages
Now, I m using Firefox and everything works correctly.

I guess my explore IE is assigned a certain way maybe I have to reinstall again.

  • Should I really a firewall/av for virtual Windows XP, if the internet access is disabled?

I don't want to have to buy an additional license for the stuff I already have (Kaspersky Internet Security 2012) on my old Dell (not ready to give up, yet). I intend to buy/download a new Windows on my Dell software and download it on my Fantom external drive, then move this drive on my Mac to get it... or just download whatever it is (from my desktop Mac) directly on the external drive.

Oh... just to clarify, I have my internet access disabled on virtual Windows (available only from my Mac desktop access) and test to make sure that I couldn't walk around on the internet on Windows virtual. I can't. Yay! Additional note: no account invited; I'm the only user.

Have toyed with getting Intego Internet Security (I know; I probably do not need), but I think (pretty sure, based on the other info I've seen in the forums) will not help in Windows virtual.

[Which also begs the question... my current USB external hard drive (originally bought for my Dell) work on my Mac?] This is a rhetorical question and I'm going to figure this out for me as soon as I've finished using it (it has download something on my Dell, now) and connect the USB cable. ]

    Thank you!

Each physical or virtual machine/system must have appropriate protection.  If you don't what to pay money then install key products that offer at least a free version of one a.

As far as your external USB drive is concerned everything depends on what file system it is formatted with and then whether or not you have any 3rd system drivers of third-party files that support what OS X does not.  In other words if the drive is formatted with the FAT32 file system, OS X can read and write to it without problem.  If it is formatted using the NTFS file system, then by default OS X only can read but not write him even if there are third-party drivers that you can use to provide write support of NTFS.

  • Extend my extreme network with another extreme - waiting for internet access

Hello - I have a new generation Airport Extreme (let's call it Extreme1) connected to a Comcast modem and it works very well. The extreme will be the router that the modem has no router function. I'm trying to expand my network to another room with another extreme (let's call it Extreme2). I have a connection cable between two rooms. Extreme1 has an ethernet cable from one of its LAN ports connected on port WAN Extreme2. When I try to create a new network with Extreme2 (in aid of the same name, passwords, etc.) it does not work. He was suspended at the end when he is looking for a connection ("Waiting for internet access")-I did the following things based on what I read here:

    1. Changed IPv6 link local parameters
    2. Tried the whole upward on my Macbook and tried on my iphone
    3. The Wan first and then tried to change the configuration after you done for Extreme2 by creating a network
    4. Tried to create a network with Extreme2 connected directly to the modem
    5. Extreme2 factory reset after every attepmt

And nothing works. Kicker is, I also have a reasonably new airport express and the same thing happens to her as well.

Do I need to adjust some parameters of network that I'm not aware of? Is it possible that my LAN ports are disabled on Extreme2? It is brand new.

    Thanks for any help.

Have you used the Apple Setup Assistant?  If you did, it had notified you that the extreme second was being configured "add using Ethernet. The wizard will automatically configure the second airport with the appropriate settings for you.  All you have to do is enter a name of device for the second AirPort Extreme.

Here I'm assuming that you reset the second extreme to parameters by default until you set it up again and that your second Extreme is the current version of the "tower" or that of previous versions "flat or square.

The example below shows an AirPort Express as the device which is the extension of the network, but you will see the name of your network and AirPort Extreme on your configuration screen.

Post back if you need some tips on using the "Wizard" for your configuration.

  • Satellite C660 - no internet access via WLAN when powered by the battery.

    Hi guys,.

Just bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 and went through the installation process and everything seemed simple and easy. However, this changed when I tried to use the laptop wireless. As long as I fed it with the AC adapter, all right. When I remove the adapter I lose the internet connection for about 3-5 minutes before it reconnects for about 1 min. Then, he constantly repeats the cycle.

I have a strong signal that shows as "Connected" to my wireless network in the network and sharing Center, but get the message "no internet access. I have another laptop and PS3 connected to my network wireless without any problem. I disabled them both where they do not interfere with the signal, but that made no difference. Therefore, I am sure that's not the router, the modem, or the wireless signal.

I checked to see if my WLAN adapter needs an update to the driver, but it shows that I have already installed the latest drivers. I tried to change the power settings for the adapter wireless of "Maximum Performance" all this without success.

In addition, it works fine on battery if plugged directly on the wireless router.

Can anyone offer advice on how to fix it, before I return it to the store?

    Thank you

  • why I don't get internet access? Help, please!

Why when I connect to my wifi, I'm permitted little or no internet access, but it still shows me trhat I'm connected?

    Hi Chris Naylor,.

1 Windows operating system you are using?

    2. have you been able to connect to before without any problem?

    3. did you of recent changes on the system?

    Method 1:

You can read the following article and try to run the troubleshooter and check.

In the Windows wireless network connection problems

    Method 2:

You can try to update the wireless adapter and see if it helps.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    Method 3:

    Disable IPv6

Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, the removal of virtual cards of IPv6 and reset the TCP/IP stack. To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.» Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.
NOTE: You should do this for each network connection.

    Method 4:

You can also temporarily disable third-party security software and firewalls installed on the system and check if the problem persists.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

  • Win XP - internet has suddenly stopped working - can't ping IPs - but Internet access web/mail/messenger

    Hello

This Windows XP desktop PC is connected to the Internet via a connection by modem.

The connection by modem connects fine, but I have no Internet access when you're connected.
Other computers using the same remote access settings still work fine.

The owner says that the problem started after a game hard reboot computer crash and following.

I tried IE, Firefox, Messenger, Thunderbird, etc.
All these programs fail instantly when you are trying to connect, as they do not recognize that there is an Internet connection.

I can ping IP Internet addresses, but I cannot ping names of site like www.google.com.
I can't connect to an IP with IE, so it doesn't seem to be just a DNS issue.

This remote access connection using a proxy (filter.voicenet.com:8241).
I checked the proxy for the modem connection settings are correct in IE and Firefox.
I have reset the TCP/IP stack.
I also ran the Winsock XP fix tool.

Norton is installed, but I ran Norton removal tool to completely remove the software.
    The Windows Firewall is disabled.
No other security software is installed as I know.

    I'm open to any ideas...

  • After the abduction of a trojan virus, I still have no internet access

After the abduction of a trojan virus, I still have no internet access with Internet explorer, Google Earth, or Yahoo Messenger. Attempt to update Yahoo Messenger from a download of update, a message indicates "Yahoo Messenger is unable to download files needed for installation. Please check the firewall settings and try again. It does not matter whether or not the firewall is disabled. Yahoo Messenger is able to connect, but not to show me the list of the rooms in the right panel. Firefox still works fine and all I use.

Here are a few things to check after an infection or elimination:

We will check your network connection properties.

Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your disabled Internet access.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Inetcpl.cpl

Click OK to launch the Internet Properties Control Panel, choose connections, LANsettings.

Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.

These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.

(If you make settings, write them down so you can undo changes if you must)

On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.

Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checked

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings.  On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.

If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.

On the general tab, click Properties.

In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically.  Select the following two options:

    Obtain an IP address automatically
Get a DNS server address automatically

The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and test your connection.

If it still does not work, check your settings are still in place after a restart and then release and renewal IP of your network device configuration settings.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window, and then type the following commands:

    ipconfig/release

    ipconfig / renew

    output

Restart your computer and test your connection.

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:

Internet access connection.  Yesterday, I figured it out and got things, but today it happened again and I don't get it.  See network properties properly, including appropriate security key.  When I ran Win 7 Network Diagnostics, he returned that I didn't have a valid IP address.  I have reset the router and even unplugged for a minute.  All this time, the ' currently logged on: "network in the sys bar icon showed the Summit he was trying to connect my network name to the internet (downstairs, the network showed as connected, probably by a router).  Another thing I did was to support IP services and disable and stop, then after restart it a few minutes.  Nothing.

But wait!  As I finished typing the last sentence, about an hour after I started the laptop, the first time, I opened center network & sharing once more and suddenly between the name of my computer and the Internet has shown the name of the network, instead of "no internet access."

Update: resolved for now.  I started using the safe mode with networking, which required the implementation of msconfig as F8 does not work.  Which required a repair of the system, and then restore it, and finally I was able to follow the instructions at http://forums.techguy.org/networking/950031-cant-get-valid-ip-address.html.  Solved.

  • WiFi connected but unknown network and internet access

    Hello

I think I've read enough forums and done enough research I finally post my question. My other laptop is Dell Inspiron 1545. It connects to my home network, but says unknown network and no internet access. I tried wifi and ethernet cable. The IP address is set to auto detect, I have reset the router, reinstalled the drivers for the card wifi, without success. Any ideas?

    -Taylor

Only, I solved this problem on my Dell XPS, so I decided to share with the community.

After the call to Dell and discover my warranty had expired (a little more than one year) and knowledge it would cost me $129 to get a response from time, I decided to go look for solutions. I found a thread of 2009, attributing the cause to a thing of access network Mcaffee. I knew that's the question because I don't personally like the major anti virus makes (they tend to pull up of stunts like this) so I had ripped my PC McAfee, as soon as I started. But this thread has helped me understand how to solve this problem.

The problem seems to be an Agent of network access Protection on your system configuration (your start up programs). Make sure it is off. It wouldn't hurt also to try to disable the Internet Explorer ETW Collector Service (has a name shady so I nuked it too: P). this fixed my connection problem not identified immediately.

    Follow these steps (Windows 7):

    1. click on start.

    2. click on search at the bottom bar.

    3. type: msconfig

    4. press enter

    5. you should have a new window named System Configuration

    6. click on the Services tab.

    7. scroll down until you find: Network Access Protection Agent. It will be defined as stopped. It's normal.

    8. uncheck the box next to the network access Protection Agent.

    9. click on OK.

    10. restart your computer.

Your internet connection should work now. If this is not the case, repeat the procedure until step 6, and then follow these steps:

    1. scroll down until you find: Internet Explorer collector Service to ETW. It will be defined as stopped. It's normal.

2 uncheck Internet Explorer collector Service to ETW.

    3. click on OK.

    4 restart your computer.

If these two steps don't fix your problem, go back to the Configuration of the system (Services tab) and it look for any other Network Access Protection Agent, such as Macafee named ones or something similar. Please be aware that uncheck essential services can cause pc problems, so make sure you know what you're unchecking before you do. If in doubt, feel free to google it.

Another solution would be to temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall and see if that helps. If Yes, then you know where you need to focus.

Good luck and hope it works!

  • IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity says no Internet access

My computer says that it has access to the internet but when I use a browser it does not work. Also Ipv4 and Ipv6 connectivity says no internet access, and at the launch of the troubleshooting, it indicates that the DNS server is not responding. So there are a lot of problems.

    Hello

    Internet works with IPv4.

I can't give a targeted response as you have not provided technical information on how you connect to the Internet and devices that are involveved.

    In general.

Check the Device Manager for the entry of valid card of the wire.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a Local Area Connection icon/entry, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

Connect you to the menu of the router from a work computer and make sure DHCP is on, and it is configured to assign IPs which can cover the number of computers that are connected (a bit more will be even better).

Turn off the computer and the router, reset the router and the computer.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

It still does not work, try this too.

    Firewall software.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall Windows Firewall should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly, or uninstall it completely allowing the clean flow of traffic on the local network. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

    Reset the network stacks .

Type Cmd in the search text box.

Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run a command as administrator prompt.  Allow the elevation.

Type netsh winsock reset at the command prompt and press the Enter key.

Do the same process to refresh the TCP/IP, just replace the command typed with.

    netsh int ip reset

    Restart the computer.
