NB100 keyboard

I bought a laptop NB100 mini and I am surprised that the numbers and letters are gray on the black keys. This makes it impossible to read in the dark keyboard. Take a look around, just how many keyboards do you see with letters other than white?
I finally managed to find an email address for Toshiba and asked advice, they have another keyboard or suggestions.

It's the answer that I received

+ "Thank you for your e-mail. +
+ Unfortunately, it's the color that comes standard and there is no way to change the keyboard to have different color keys. If when you bought the net book, you said you wanted white and gray keys not without having seen the net book, then the product must be returned to the dealer on this issue, but if you bought directly, then you would of bought the product, knowing that the keyboard is not white and grey writing. » +

In other words of grass off the coast, we don't want to know.

The guy could not even write English with the expression "would of". It truly annoys me so much.

He is such a mistake fundamental to a national company like Toshiba multi, probably putting style before the feature.

I also have an Azus EEE, which seems to have a similar size keyboard and thought about trying to find a spare part and share more. The only problem is that the blue functions are not in the same places.
Another idea I am train is to use the transfer of lettering on the keys and paint over varnish, masking of a circular shape. This would likely cripple the warranty!

In conclusion, a great piece of kit marred by gross stupidity.

I'm willing to accept this inconvenience only because it is not a compatible product on the market otherwise he would have (+ or should I say would be of) +! were returned.

I think you have misunderstood something buddy
You get no response from Toshiba here in the forum.

This is a USER to USER forum, and there is no guy Toshiba

What you get here are options and suggestions for people like me and you from customers of Toshiba and lovers who want to help the other guys.

But it's true... keyboard labels are a bit too dark... White would be better... still...

My NB100 on 18 months old has now an erratic keyboerd with frozen lock, some keys giving 2 or 3 characters at the same time, etc. Any ideas please?

Hmm. Looks a bit like a keyboard failure.

Hi guys, can anyone help? Last July the keyboard on my NB100 developed a fault. The keys U, I, O, J, K, L and M when you press a given 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 numbers.
As it was still under warranty, I sent it back to be repaired. Everything was fine until today, when he started to do the same.

  • NB100: keyboard problem internal after changing the language on the external keyboard

    Hello

    I bought a brand new Toshiba NB100.
Due to the size of the keybord th (and the odd choice of colored letters grey on the keyboard), I bought an external keyboard as well.
My settings of language is Norwegian, but the external keyboard is US.
So I did it in Norwegian.

The problem is that now, whenever I'm not using the external keyboard, the integrated keyboard is foreign to any language and has 'invented' his own which means I have to press the Fn key in order to access the normal letters and the number zero.

I tried to remove the keyboard drivers and retart in the hope to return to the original values, but anything will do.

    Hope someone can help me.

I'm not sure, but have you tried turning on FN + F11 / turn off?

Or maybe Control Panel > regional and language options > tab regional options or languages?

    Try different settings.

  • NB100 - where can I buy hardware like a keyboard?

    Hello

Where can I find material as nb100 keyboard to buy?
I lived in iran and I can get it from dubi if I can find it there?

    Hello!

I completely agree with Akuma. All the spare parts of equipment such as keyboard, RAM, HARD drives and all the other stuff you can get from an authorized service provider.
If you don't know where is the nearest ASP in your country, you should look on the Toshiba site. There you can search for it.

An alternative you can buy parts on eBay.

    Good bye

  • NB100 XP & - cannot install the utility of keyboard shortcuts

    Hi guys...

I buy a NB100-11R and I installed xp on it... all is ok, but...
The only problem is with the utility of keyboard shortcuts...
I can not install it... installation start-up and stop in a few seconds without evaluating or popup messages.

Special keys are... half of work... the "F2", A, S, esc and F12 are works not... the key F8 seems functional (I see in system preferences that alter the frequency but the * icon fan that will gray or white * is not like the other icons)

    Some ideas?

TNX! and have a nice day.

    Hello

According to the info (more info) on the Toshiba European page the Hotkey Utility allows you to display on screen LCD LCD + CRT or CRT mode by pressing Fn + F5.

I'm not very well if you'll be able to use all THE FN buttons m description indicates that the driver allows the use of the Fn + F5 keys.

However, make sure your Windows XP is up to date (all service packs and patches are installed) and try to reinstall the Hotkey Utility again.

By the way; on the page, you will find the latest version of the BIOS. Make sure that if your computer is already using the latest BIOS

  • NB100 - can't see the indications on the keys on the keyboard

I just bought a netbook NB100 for my partner, my first thoughts were, what a great little machine is, well I liked all about it, so I tried to use it. The keyboard, what a nightmare, gray lettering on black keys, if you had a light directly above the keys, that's fine, in the shade or in a shaded room, I could hardly see the lettering, blue key functions stood out more.

Let me know what you think, or am I a little on top.

    concerning
    Stephen

    It seems ok to me.

Try increasing the brightness of the screen so the keyboard lights up more.

  • NB100 - new keyboard

Can someone tell me if it is possible to get another keyboard for a netbook NB100?

The choice of grey characters dark on a black keyboard makes it nearly impossible to see something else bright light

    Hey Buddy,

I'm don't know if there's another compatible keyboard for NB100 but an authorized service provider can give you an answer because they have access to the spare parts of Toshiba.

You must give them a call or write a short email. Give them your exact part of your laptop number and they can get a new keyboard.

  • Impossible to get my USB keyboard to wake up sleep NB100 - (Windows 7)

I use a monitor, USB wireless mouse and a wired keyboard USB with my NB100.

My keyboard has a power button and it is configured to put the computer in mode standby when you press on, which works very well. My problem is that the only way I can wake up the computer is to press a key on the keyboard built-in the NB100, pressing anything on my USB keyboard does nothing.

I went into the Device Manager and unchecked "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and also turned on in the BIOS, but it still doesn't work.

I would really like to get this sorted out I have the NB100 tucked out of sight and it is a bit of a pain to have to dig, open the cover and press the space bar, whenever I want to wake up the computer :-(

    Any ideas anyone?

    Concerning

    Manon.

What Version of BIOS you have on this of NB100?

It was working properly when Windows XP has been installed?

  • NB100 - key keyboard wrong language

    Hello

    I bought a series of NB100.

The keyboard does not work properly. Perhaps because of the language defined during installation.

The @ button prints the double quotes ("")
The key # print a symbol of the book.

    Need help to fix this.

I tried to change the language to the United States (which was UK) of the Control Panel, but it does not work.

    OS: XP

What is the model number of the laptop?

You should see a number of PLLxxx-xxxxxx on the base.
If you have a PLL10E, so you bought a laptop UK with a UK keyboard.

  • Keyboard presses records does not correctly - NB100

I was in possession of my NB100 since the new topic about a month ago.

This afternoon, I discovered that when you press the keys as the i, the number 5 is given on the screen instead of waiting for him I. Other keys affected are the letter u, o, p, j, k, l, and Mr. I ran Spyware and Virus scans to check the o/s has some wicked present using my antivirus/antispyware etc. I use ESET NOD32® Antivirus 3.0 and Adaware 2008 for anti-spyware. The two bring nothing of any interest whatsoever.

It is a work of 'return to the shop' or is there something else I can do?

    Any help would be welcome.

FN + f11 is all you need to do, you have activated a number lock.

When it is off, you will find the keys act like they are supposed to.
