NB100 problem after bios update

I've updated the BIOS with the xp operating system. But I found something wrong with it.
1. the BACKSPACE keys and Fn (function) are no longer usable. And I go in the back to check, the keys cannot be used.
2. when I install the driver for the touchpad, there is a problem. The xp gives a noisy sound.
Who can help me to explain and solve these problems.
Thanks in advance!

Perhaps with a Microsoft machine, you may have more luck than use on 'open source '.

  • Re: Satellite L500D - boot problem after BIOS update

I downloaded the new version of BIOS (v1.4) official Toshiba site to update my computer Satellite L500D (PSLK0A - 00U009). But after the update, Windows 7 cannot start, Windows logo appears for a while then it restarts automatically. Windows then goes into repair mode. I followed the instructions on the screen to fix. But it does not work.
When I reinstalled Windows, the computer worked fine until Windows Update told me to restart the computer. The computer dies again.

I think that this version of BIOS has a problem. I wonder if there is a way to downgrade the BIOS to the earlier version. I found some instructions on the net to use the Phoenix recovery disk, but I have no file disk and BIOS.
    Please Please HELP, very appreciate.

Try to install the OS to help original Toshiba recovery image. After disabling automatic Microsoft updates to install. When you get the message about controlled initially available updates and install important updates only.

Check it once more to see if the same thing will happen again. Display the results.

    Hi Provost,

I'm happy to announce that I have overcome the problem of activation of the SecureBoot. I saw an option in BIOS-> setting-> 'HP Factory loading key' Boot. After I loaded the default keys to toggle SecureBoot option has become active and I was able to activate SecureBoot. I applied the last update of the BIOS and has been able to activate SecureBoot successfully after the update.

I wanted to know if this method is safe and that there can be no other effects on the other parts of the system.

    Hey Buddy,

This stop code means you use a bad SATA controller driver. The installation of XP, to integrate the SATA driver for install XP. There is a lot of discussion on this issue here in the forum.

For Intel chipset, you will need to download Intel Storage Manager of Toshiba's official site and follow the instructions here to reinstall Windows with the SATA drivers:

  • boot problem after bios update

I was recently asked to install a new update of the bios on my HP Envy 15.

After that installing Windows 8.1 is turned on and the version of the bios detected is Insyde F.56

However, before the update, I had a dual boot by Grub2 and now I am unable to run

the versions of Linux installed in children partitions on the same drive.

This version of the bios seems to me to prevent the loading of Grub2.

Can you help me to solve it?

That's exactly what I did before:

    (1) linking boot-repair a liveUSB / recommended repair.

    (2) press ESC during startup / press F9 / select Ubuntu in the boot menu / start Ubuntu / run Startup Repair / recommended repair.

In the case that grub won't load and windows starts.

  • Problem AFTER BIOS update

I recently bought a laptop HP dv4000 (dv4155cl) via ebay, and check when clicking on Help & Support system information display model number: dv4000 & product number: EC321UA #ABA loading. Then I discovered on the HP site that there is an update of the BIOS flash utility & new BIOS version F.17 where my BIOS showed as F.13, so I downloaded and flashed the new BIOS that worked perfectly, but NOW when I load help & Support on the start menu, it displays a number of model VIRGIN and s/o where the use of the product number to display? How can I fix it?

Check and see if it is displayed correctly in your BIOS. There, you can start by pressing f10 at startup upward.

If your info is still on display in the BIOS it may be repairable, but if the info is not listed you can try flashing the bios or flashing of the original version back there.

If this does not work, it will have to be maintained to deal with the problem.

  • Satellite A500 emit after bios update 1.50

    Hey guys and girls,

I have some problems after the update of the bios. Before the update my laptop has been the scene of much smoother and everything was fine and dandy until Tempro told me to update my bios. The problem is that after the update, the temperature seems to be considerably higher as usual when I play the game (I am a gamer) and also all the games I play seems to be much slower than before (lower, gal frame rate). Before the update I could play Dragon Age Origins with 1366 x 768 with 4 x anti-aliasing and the only one that I could get the same performance with the graphic parameter above is on 800 x 600. Now, it is certainly a big problem for someone who is a graphics junkie when it comes to games.

    * What do you think I should do? *

    A. downgrade my bios for when I bought everything first? (I don't know what version of bios is if anyone knows the stock bios?)
    B. perform HARD drive recovery?
    C. clean install of Windows 7 64-bit?

    My laptop computer spec:

    Model name: Satellite A500
    Part number: PSAR3E-00N005EN
    Serial number: X9206227K
OS version: Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium edition
    BIOS version: 1.50
    Physical memory: 4096MB RAM
Graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GT 230 M

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
