NB10T-A-101 webcam unrecognized Ubuntu 14.04

Hi all

I installed not without equivocation ubuntu 14.04 on my NB10T and everything works well excluding the webcam, which is not recognized.

lsusb shows only two usb controllers.
and lspci shows all kinds of devices, but not a webcam.

Without that, it is difficult if not impossible to know which kernel to load module to get assistance.
Cheese and gtk video than any device with is in line with the command lspci.

How can I go aroud find what webcam it is?
I tried to google havd and no reference to specifications on the webcam.

Kind regards.

To my knowledge, the webcam module is connected to the USB controller.
It seems that the same webcam module was built in Satellite C50 C50 and Portege Z30 series.
Check other pages of Linux, I found no other Linux distributions (Fendora) running on these models. The webcam and the microphone of the internal webcam has been properly recognized.

Not sure if the other Linux is an option for you, but it would be interesting to know if the webcam would be recognized correctly

  • Installation of Ubuntu 14.04 on Satellite NB10t-A-101 does not work

    Hello world

Sorry for my English: it is not my mother tongue. I'll try to explain my problem.

I would like to install Ubuntu 14.04 on my computer (Toshiba Satellite NB10t-A-101), but it does not work.

I boot on my USB (made with RUFUS), but it works once for each five times.

After you install the operating system, when I restart the system, the computer does not find an operating system (I precise that I already check the EFI BIOS and disable secure boot)

    How to install Ubuntu?

    Hello

This series of portable was equipped with a processor Intel Celeron 2810 n and this CPU belongs to the new Intel BayTrail platform.

The * Intel deposit path * allows only the installation and utilization of systems capable of UEFI as Win 8 or 8.1 Win

  • Cannot start OSs of HDD external USB on the Satellite NB10t-A-101

I'm unable to install Linux on the Satellite NB10t-A-101, because it does not allow to boot from USB or install other OSs.I tried to circumvent this way: (it came with pre-installed Windows 8).

    (1) turning off SecureBoot (which I did)
    (2) putting USB at the top of the list of starting the computer.

    But it does not work.

I have two HDD USB (a TPG, the other normal) partitioned and it s impossible for them starting with this model of Satellite. I m thinking to return it back to the store that I need to install/start several OSs.

    Hello

Great that you are using Linux on your PC!

You mention that you have disabled the secure boot.
It is very good. But you don't say anything about the startup mode and nothing about what Linux you try to start.

Most of the distros must support UEFI but that can't be true for each of them.
If you want Win8 dualboot with a Linux distro, so you need to active UEFI and able to start in this mode distribution.
If you use a late clone-Ubuntu, Fedora or OpenSuse, you should be fine!

Another clue could be to take the USB key and try to start another PC from him.
Which will give a clearer picture of where the problem lies: on your key or the compatibility of firmware NB10 & distro Linux of your choice.

If you try to boot from a USB - HDD, I'm afraid I'm a bit at a loss as I've never tested.

    I hope this helps!

  • Satellite NB10t-A-101 - problem with graphics card Intel using Win 10

After I upgraded to Windows 10, The graphics card worked fine, at least 4 months later, I saw that the Intel Graphics tray icon was missing when I went into device manager he had a small exclamation mark by it and said

Your computer's system firmware does include enough information to properly configure and use this device.
To use this device, contact the manufacturer to obtain a firmware or an update of the BIOS of your computer. (Code 35)

Then, I looked a little further into the problem and found this:

    Problem code: 00000023
The problem: the resources for this device in conflict with the MCFG table.

  • NB10t-A-101 power problem

I have 2 laptops from Toshiba, the two are identical. 1 of them will power not. The charger works correctly. The power button lights. The power light lights up for 3 flashes. It is a Satellite, NB10t-A-101. Can anyone offer a solution?

    I'm not an expert, I'm a user
but try to remove the battery, then connect the AC to the PC and try to turn on it (try with both the ca you have).
and see if there's life on your PC

[if it does not try to disassemble the hard drive too] and see the differences.

one piece of advice (I have a nb10-a-102, but I think that is the same) to remove the battery, unscrew one screw, but which? Close your take pc his face down with battery close to home, battery online "horizontal" u see 3 screw unscrew the screw in the Middle, and then you can remove your battery.

  • Satellite NB10T-A-101 - mouse pad does not work

I have a touch screen for Toshiba Satellite NB10T-A-101, the touch screen works very well but I use mostly the mouse pad I find using the slider easier.

But recently my guarded cursor freezing for a second or two and then to spend once again, but now the mouse pad seems not working with the left and right click buttons work but not the touchpad.

I made sure the touchpad is enabled in the mouse settings, so I don't really know what to do now.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you

    Hello

Have Hmm you also checked the FN + F5 key combination?
This would enable and disable the touchpad as well.

But from my point of view, it would be possible that the touchpad module is malfunctioning.
I m thinking about the hardware malfunction because the touchpad buttons work and just touch the touch work area module doesn't correctly.

Usually, if the touchpad would be handicapped by any software, both; as well as the touch buttons does not work.

    Hello

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite NB10T-A-101 and want to improve performance by changing the HDD with a SSD and install windows Pro 8.1.

However, I am unable to boot from USB, it always mention:
+ Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. +

I already disabled secure, used 5 + usb startup different sticks (work fine on other laptops).

    Hello

Laptop Satellite NB10T-A-101 was equipped with an Intel CPU 2810 n which is part of the new Intel Bay Trail-M platform.

This new technology Intel Bay Trail allows installation of UEFI capable systems:

    Just a few questions:
Have you already changed the HARD drive to SSD drive?
If so, the new SSD is recognized in the BIOS?
Have you tried to boot from the USB flash memory stick 8.1 Win until you changed your SSD drive?

  • Satellite NB10t-A-101 - to use the dual OS - Windows + Ubuntu

    Hello

I just bought a new laptop, whose type is indicated in the title. I want to in stall double OS on my machine, win 8 pre-installed and Ubuntu as well.

I followed the steps in the installation of Ubuntu under UEFI system, and everything is going well except the last step.
On a Ubuntu forum, I learned to access its UEFI setting interface, find the boot priority option and set Ubuntu as the first boot option, so that I can enter the Ubuntu system.

I could change the priority of network/USB/HDD, but I couldn't change the priorities of the bootload of both files.
I'm sure that I have properly installed Ubuntu, but the only thing that can make my laptop is just enter Win 8 as usual and I'm not able to enter in Ubuntu.

Just remember: I'm looking for a way to change the boot priority of the file bootload system, not the hardware boot priority.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you very much!

  • Satellite NB10t-A-101 - USB works after installed Ubuntu 14.04

    Hello!

After installing ubuntu with the process that you gave to me
    (here: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=76813)
and after a few days of use without problem, my USB port have been disabled.

You have an idea how to deal with to bring them back?
If you want any information that will help you, just ask.

    Thanks for the help

With the USB mouse connected, open terminal and enter: lsusb

    You see the mouse?

In addition you can wear the battery for at least a minute properly deliver material. Then put back the battery and check if the USB ports are not working.

Last but not least, you could try to start the device using Live didk/USB to see if the problem is still there.

  • Problem starting the BIOS NB10t-A-101

I just bought a NB10t to the United Kingdom and try to boot to a bootable USB key

I noticed that the BIOS on this particular model is UEFI mode only, which, in itself, is not a problem because users can sign their own operating systems with a certification authority and use them, but this laptop refuses to boot from any external environment... or even to provide an error message.

I changed boot priority in the BIOS and USB moved up
I disabled the Secure Boot option in the BIOS
I tried all 3 USB ports as well as 3 different drives (NOTE: THESE WORK FINE ON the 3 OTHER SYSTEMS, a dell desktop/laptop computer and a computer acer laptop)
I also tried different distributions (Debian & Arch)
I used several installation methods (hard install of Unetbootin/Full/Rufus etc...)
I tried all your currently released BIOS versions (delivery with V1.0, V1.1 - Jan Feb - V1.2)

After trying all these when you press F12 at startup, the shows start menu but when you select a device, the system continues to initiate (Win8) HARD drive
After Googling around, I noticed that you have unlocked 2 BIOS updates I tried all versions of these and still the system refuses to boot in my selected device

Can we expect more updates of the firmware in the near future? Is there a way to work around this problem to start my chosen OS? Is there an option of CSM?

The laptop can be started from an external source such as USB flash memory stick but make sure of a few important points:
    A few tips:

1 - USB key must be in the right port (USB2).
2 - USB key must be UEFI-bootable (a Debian or Ubuntu, Installer copied on the USB stick with 'dd', is very well).
3 - Bootloader file must be named boot/bootx64.efi (again, a picture of the Debian or Ubuntu installer will be already OK).
4 - now try the ESC key before and during hit the power button, to select the boot device.

  • Satellite NB10T-to-10F - webcam suddenly stopped working

    Hello
I got the laptop TOSHIBA SATELLITE NB10T-A-10F
The web cam has suddenly stopped working
    I tried
    Updated bios even without result
Here is the picture of Device Manager

In various cases, the webcam can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS
This option would typically appear in the BIOS under: Advanced-> System Configuration
    Please check this box.

Otherwise, you need to know also that the webcam driver installation isn't necessary if you use the system Win 8 or 8.1 win because such driver is already part of the system.

If the BIOS does not have the power option webcam (Advanced-> System Configuration) I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to the factory to check settings if possible hardware malfunction would be responsible for this issue.

    Hello

Your laptop was equipped with the new processor Intel Celeron 2810 n that belongs to the Bay Trail-M architecture.
This new * Intel Bay Trail * technology is only supported systems that support UEFI and systems (Win 8, 8.1 Win) and, therefore, the UEFI / CSM boot mode option isn't available in the BIOS settings.

_So you can install only a system capable of UEFI

The problem is that it tells me that my cameras are all used although they closed.

It shows me in the YouCam when it is opened by itself.

Long story short, I can't use YouCam to cam with friends via Skype or Tinychat.

I used to use Tinychat and see me on this site with the box of YouCam also show me on the side. He said now all my cams are used even if they are not.

    Hello

It seems that the device is not at all.
On some models, it is possible to disable the webcam in the BIOS.
Maybe you should look here first?

F2 at the STATION (when Toshiba logo appears just after switching on).
    Probably under the section Advanced.
