NB200 - C000021A error and blue screen appears

Hi people, I have the following problem with my notebook of mothers a Toshiba NB200 - 10g. Basically it was a virus or a virus a little these days. Downloaded avg and malwarebytes in the hope of resolving and it has problems but pop ups were still appearing and found virus.

In any case today he will be present when starting to move the party to boot windows he's going to where the login screen would be the screen flashes blue for the blink of an eye and the C000021a error message comes back on unrecoverable system error and computer stops and restarts x 1000

I have read a bit about this problem and seems to be down to the fact winlogon.exe will be missing or corrupted by the virus. I tried all different modes start safe mode, last config etc. known. My major problem is I have no usb key to load anything on and the laptop doesn't have a CD player, so my options are very limited. Next plan will have to be to take it to the store tomorrow and get them to run a windows recovery program, but the problem is that I end up having to lend him my laptop tonight. Is there something I can do at all? Tried F2 and f12 to get into the bios, nothing that I can change. No joy, tried f8 and all start different modes. Do I have other options at all?

Thank you

Just to add, by pressing and holding 0 and then let go when it switches is supposed to be to get it to reset the good that happens the HDD RECOVERY at the bottom of a blank page for a second about XP tries to start again? Seems a little odd.

Obviously, you can't do anything else as to reinstall the new OS.
Maybe HARD drive recovery would still be available on the HARD disk. So try this HARD drive recovery.
This Toshiba HOWTo might be useful:

If the recovery of HARD drive is not available, then you could try to reinstall Win XP using a disk from Microsoft as part of the USB key.

Here you can find more information how to create a bootable USB key.

Good luck

    Hello everyone,

While to my desktop screen (don't remember if I was doing anything however), the BSOD appears, indicating the system stopped to avoid any damage occurs.

The following was then shown (exactly as you see):

    STOP: Ox0000000c5 (Ox00000002, Ox00000001, Ox00000004, Ox805515A1)

Then a memory dump has been launched.

The only way to get rid of the blue screen was to unplug the computer from the power source, then turn it back on.  After reboot, "error reporting box" appears asking if I wanted to report this error to Microsoft I did), then closed the box.  Almost immediately after, the computer I connected to the Internet to a site that says "Microsoft error report" in the upper left corner of the screen.

Then, there was some additional information about the page displayed on some system functions in my computer does not.  I was directed to click on a link to the so-called "Roxio...?  & then asked to download, "Pxengine 4_18_16A.exe(Provided by Sonic Solutions, version, created on 20/07/2009).

This is now a 5th time a blue screen appeared during 5 days.  This time, the only difference is in the codes and being redirected to the page described above to download something I've never heard of and have no idea of what it is supposed to do.

I would appreciate any information that someone has just what it is.  I'm simply puzzled.

Thank you very much in advance!

    1. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

2 do you have software Roxio installed on the computer? If so, then Uninstall the software and check.

You can also check if the problem persists in the clean boot state.

  • conmputer crashes and blue screen appears and the computer restarts

my computer guard crash blue screen appears and then the computer restarts, reinstalled windows xp and the problem persists

If you reinstalled Windows, then you can be sure that it is hardware related.

The three most likely culprits are the processor, graphics or RAM card. Unfortunately exactly identify the problem will always be tricky unless you have access to the spare parts that you can switch to turn.
  • Error on kernel stack inpage error and blue screen

(Note: this post was created on behalf of another user.)

Recently, my PC had blue screen errors.  Thinking it was probably a problem of aging HD, the HD has been replaced and a new install of Win XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2.  Blue screens persist despite the new drive.

The error is a "Kernel Stack Inpage Error".

It is a new drive with the same errors as before so I think that it is not a virus and probably a problem with another piece of hardware.  There is a minidump file available if need be.

Can someone please help with these errors?

    Thank you.

If you would like to get BSV and run it, then choose:

Options, lower pane Mode, all the drivers

You'll be on your way and see the battery and your ATI drivers.

Updates Microsoft released the second Tuesday of each month (Patch Tuesday) so it would be on 07/12, but since you have SP2, I can't say what would happen or what updates you decided to install.  If you have accepted the recommendations of MS for video drivers (which are usually poorly), who knows what is happening.

    Hi mkm.

Were there any hardware or software changes made at the time the blue screen appeared?

I suggest to close the PC and remove all devices in addition to the screen, the keyboard and the mouse.

If the computer works without a blue screen for a reasonable period of time, you can start to add them one at a time to see if a specific device that is causing the error back.

Enter the BIOS by typing /holding F10 key to power on. Check if the hard disk controller is set to AHCI or IDE mode. AHCI mode should work, but if it's the current setting, change IDE. If it is set for RAID on AHCI change.

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

This problem is caused by a defective unit or a device driver. Visit the website of the manufacturer of your computer or see if AMd drivers directly will work for your hardware configuration and then uninstall and reinstall your drivers.

  • Satellite P20-771: Error Message blue screen after the reinstallation of the OS

    I have a portable Satellite P20-771 / Pentium 4 3.40 GHz (800/HTT) / XP Home / 17' with nVidia Geo5700 driver.

As I had a few problems with the software, and I reinstalled everything using the supplied CD. Unfortunately the canned computer malfunction sent me blue screen errors, which are due (it comes when I sumbit error to Microsoft) to device drivers. I've updated everything (I hope) of the Toshiba page, but I'm not an expert and I'm worried that I missed something or that something has not been loaded in the right order or that the parameter is incorrect.

I thank in advance for your help

I read in this forum that the Blues screen error message appears due to hardware malfunction or malfunction serious software.
Usually after installing the new OS since the portable Toshiba Recovery CD should work properly.
It is not easy to say why the blue screen appears on you laptop.
Maybe you can post the content of the error message in this forum, and maybe we will find a solution.

I have VAIO VGC-RA840G Windows XP Media Center computer that is having a blue error screen. When you try to start, a blue screen appears saying driver ATI2DVAG is an infinite loop and it restarts again. I can only boot the computer in Mode safe.

    Hi Merrill,

Try to perform the system recovery once more and check if it works by following all the steps here: http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C268210

If the problem persists, contact Sony Service support here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/service.pl

Installed on your computer video card is ATI RadeonX300 size 128 and Type DDR SDRAM. You can use a new graphics card with the same above indicated. First, remove the preinstalled a x 16 PCI Express Slot graphics card and install a new one that does not have the power over 364.7 wattsmax. / 100 - 240V ~ 7A (50 / 60 Hz).
