NB205-N210 Power Saver problem
Im having an error during the installation of the Power Saver software.
I have Win XP SP3 (Hungarian) and when I try to install the software, it gives me this message:
"1628: scenario based Setup fails.
I read after that, and they say "Idriver.exe" commits the error, I tried to turn it off, but I can't
Can someone help me know how to install this essential part of the software for my netbook, with her dough last only for about 3-4 hours (instead of 7-9)?
Thank you very much in foreword!
Invites you to the Microsoft Knowledge base:
If you get the error message "Error 1628: impossible to install complete based on the script.
And followed the instructions above and it didn t determine the problem and you just create fees
installation package by using the InstallShield tool, please disable "Cache installation on the local computer.
option during the installation package creates the process.
So maybe it has something to do with temporary files.
Go to c:\documents and settings\ [your name] Settings\Temp
and delete all the files in there (close all other programs first, or do in Mode without failure).
Also try disabling your Antivirus software. They can sometimes block facilities.
When I close the lid, it prepares for sleep.
Used to work properly. Now it closes all applications and crashes.
The powersave icon does not appear in the sys tray.
I have updated Bios 1.7 but which gave intermittent starting problems.
Now back to bios 1.2
All original drivers and utilities resettled.
After installing SP3, anything is possible. As much as I know Toshiba does not updates, tools and utilities for SP3. So in your case, you have two options: use all the stuff from Toshiba with SP2, because tools and utilities are tested with SP2, or remove the system energy saving.
I'm sure that you can live without energy saver. Am I right about that?
I have problem with Toshiba Power Saver (GST).
I installed SP2 on my WinXP Pro, and after this operation, all works well. After a few days GST on icon disappear from the task bar. When I open the Console from Toshiba, then GST I can see only incomlete standard dialog box. There is no configuration icons, but initially were, and I set all the settings. Now, there are 4 black boxes (2 small as a small icon) and 2 large as icon bigest at the bottom and a large black on the right.
I try to reinstal GST, but it had no effect.
Can someone help me
I have never seen anything like it. There is obviously some problems that doesn t allow the graphic illustration of the ATP. The first step is always reinstalling the software. I don't know what you need to do exactly. In my opinion, you should try to remove the GST and SP2. Install SP2 again and after this GST.
If there is not the worst success solutions are preinstall the device using the recovery CD.
For people who were having trouble installing the utility of Toshiba Power Saver on Windows XP, I found a solution for you.

My laptop connected via the mains supply, is quite well. However, when it is not connected (i.e. use it on battery), it shows 100% battery up to 90%, when I get an error window Windows "Toshiba Power Saver must be closed, you want to send an etc error report" and then my battery on the taskbar becomes critical - 3%.
In addition, at this stage, my processor speed slows down (which is notable because applications take longer to load etc.) as if the laptop is happening in energy saving mode. I thought that maybe this is a display error, so I left the laptop on just to see - and turns off 5 minutes later!
What is a software error or a bad battery? Any help appreciated.
I think you may have a bad battery, but just to be safe, I would recommend that you recharge the Toshiba power management software, and then check the default settings for the actions to be taken with display brightness, speed of the processor, hard drive, etc. at the various stages of the battery capacity.
It is normal that the brightness of the screen to reduce in stages, as the battery capacity decreases, and it is also normal that the speed of the CPU to slow down as well. You can change this behavior if you want to leave in the Toshiba power management utility.
- Intermittent loss of Wi - Fi
- Unable to open a connection Wi - Fi
- Poor Wi - Fi connection data performance
The PSP mode is a feature that provides the long battery life for laptops. It requires coordination between the AP or router and the Wi - Fi adapter. Intel has discovered that some APs or routers may not implement the feature correctly or completely.
Heard different things people try, depending on their wireless adapter.
Start, control panel, device, netowrk, their adapter, power management Manager. Clear the checkbox to allow windows to turn off this device to save power
Start, control panel, device, netowrk, their adapter, advanced management. Looking for antenna diversity. Some cards have it and others don't. Replace the Auto antenna by supply diversity
Some have disabled Wireless N of their card and achieved good results.
Some Wireless N adapters operate ONLY on the 2.4 GHz frequency.
Using these parameters of the recommended wireless router I use channel 11, have GREAT results. I usually recommend creating a new SSID to make the connection easier. Wireless devices also needs to connect to the NEW network.
I have problem with Toshiba power saver - it does not work.
I have not found a driver for Vista 32 bit here.

Thanks for your help
What do you mean with it does not work?
What energy savings you used?
The Vista operating system uses clean power options and there is no special Toshiba Power saver for Vista as for Win XP
Maybe you tried to install the saver of energy for Win XP?
I have a toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 m 8. Windows XP Pro Sp3
When the pc is running on AC adapter / normal CC it works correctly and quickly, and when I unplug the adapter and run the pc on battery, that it doesn't...
But here the problem arises when I reconnect the adapter again (the normal supply battery power switching) the speed of the computer goes down.
It becomes more annoying and slow navigation, menu programs start running, etc...
It is very sensitive... not a bit...
I tried to change the controller to the built-in in windows power management and tests of the same case...
The speed of the computer works properly...
I guess the problem is with Toshiba PowerSaver.
Version is: Toshiba PowerSaver 7.03.07.C
I m not quite sure what could be the reasons for this problem but as far as I know, you can assign the different parameters of basic installation of Power Saver, which could affect the performance of the laptops.
For example; Control method of the CPU, the processing speed of the CPU, cooling method.
Please check what power profile was chosen after that the AC adapter is plugged in and if necessary modify some parameters mentioned above.
I installed windows XP on my laptop Satellite A200, but I have a problem with the "Power Saver" (according to me, is the process name is TPSmain.exe).
This driver doesn't want to start, and there is a sound error at startup of windows.
I don't have the icon then the clock too.
You know the problem?
(Sorry for my bad English ^^)
Satellite A200 which series did you?
I ask because there are different A200 series and every single series takes care of own pilots
Update you the BIOS to the XP version?
As far as I know the BIOS should be updated to the XP version if an XP operating system has been installed.
Have you installed SP2?
It's important too!
I decided to make another thread so that questions can be answered. Right, so I installed Power Saver Driver, then reboot and then I install Power Saver, but when I try to access it from Control Panel I get a message saying 'CANNOT be opened because you do not access right to use 'TOSHIBA Power Saver'. Now, when I go in the SYs32 directory and search for Toshiba Power Saver related files I find a file named TPSBattM and when I try to run I get a "a fatal error has occurred, Code: 0 x 2.
I tried to reinstall and withdrawal, but it still isn't working. No one has a fix for this because this problem has been so annoying on plu laptop since then and TOSHIBA still have not resolved it.
I can't find the common Modules for Satellite P200-144. If someone could find them then it should start working again.
Thank you and please someone try to help me.
Why do you start different threads on the same topic?
You must follow the premiera!
I have a satellite A60 and you have a problem with the energy saver. It seems that my virus/adware application has deleted parts of the energy-saving App. No problem, I thought, I'll reinstall it tools and Utilities CD - wrong!
The Power Saver software on the CD has a 16-bit installation program that is not working under Win XP, have you tried the site Web of Toshiba (UK, Europe and USA), no luck - same 16-bit installation program.
Any help please!
couldyou please click the link below
This isn't a failure with the Powersaver but with Windows XP. In the article, it says that you must use a XP cd but rather than this, you can use the I386 folder under drive c.
See you soon
as I've seen here in the forums a lot of users of Toshiba laptops has the problem of a noisy and often fan running. The Toshiba Power Saver 220.127.116.11 installed on my satellite M30X-167 seems to not have the feature of switching on the CPU to load dynamic processor.
There SpeedswitchXP - CPU frequency for mobile control Windows XP on http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/index.html
Does anyone of you have a positive experience with the help of other register controls as the original from Toshiba?
Doing dynamic CPU speed control significantly reduced the activities of fan?
Best regards and greetings from the Germany
I had already installed on my Tecra M1. It worked fine, but I n t notice a big difference. Can you please tell me what laptop do you have?
In my opinion, you can try to install it. On my unit SpeedSwitch works properly without any problem, but AFAIK the tools as it works well on laptop computer desktop map mother don t allow this tool may have information on the temperature or things like that.
As I said you can try it.
I am struggling with this problem for months... the latest version of Eve on my toshiba satellite pro m30 running windows xp with service pack 1 installed gives a message box with an error message when the stop and I'm unable to eliminate this error. Unfortunately, I can't consider reinstall the system from scratch, because there are many other applications installed and I can't lose the settings for them. I read the forums and realized I'm not one of the problems with toshiba power saver. I'm even lucky to successfully at startup started it! Yet, it hangs at shutdown. It's pretty boring. also, I downloaded all the latest updates of this site for my laptop, including even the bios update.
I would like the opportunity to be able to download the version without toshiba this site energy saving bug, and I'm sure many other people would appreciate the patch too!
any comment on that?
If your laptop is installed correctly it should work well. All the software has been tested. The only reason for your problem may be additional software that you have installed later.
It is also possible that it may be caused by an Antivirus application. Maybe an application runs in the background? There are many reasons that may be responsible for this problem.
If you reinstall your Notebook of recovery CD it will not work properly. It is very unjustifiable to write on some versions bug-free. I sometimes have problems with BONES, but almost always after using some freeware.
I own a Toshiba Satellite L30-106. I got it from Windows Vista to Windows XP pro, I installed all the Xp drivers provided by the Toshiba site.
Everything is going well except for the Toshiba Power Saver utility, I can't install it, it still gives this error: error Power Saver 0x7E. Same thing happens when I want to uninstall it. How can I solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
I hope that you have installed the power saver right!
The laptop is one of the series PSL33E. Therefore, you should choose the drivers and tools for this series!
In addition it is very important to install the driver Toshiba and utilities in the right order!
Then open the installation instructions and follow the lines of this guide!
Please make sure that you have already installed "TOSHIBA common Modules or / and TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility" ahead!
Toshiba power saver recently stopped working - I deleted and it redownloaded this site, now whenever I try to start the installation, I get a message "Cannot be the computer id" and stops the installation.
For the first time post here so if I'm on the wrong forum or you need nothing else apologies in advance.
where you´ve have downloaded the powersaver? Maybe you downloaded a bad for your machine. It s absolutely important to download EXACTLY this software that fits your type of machine.
When you download stuff on toshiba Web sites you will have to keep an eye on the version on your machine (for example the Satellite A100 - 552-> download software of type '552' of the Satellite A100 series).
Sometimes, this solves a lot of mistakes and clarify some not very nice situations.
Please, more details on your problem. :)

As we approach the end of the year, many of us (especially those in B2B) will see the last two weeks and the first week (maybe) to slow down a little. With ALL that extra time on your hands (not) what you pick up that you have not had time to do earl
