Thank you...

When you start your press NB Please F12 to get into the boot menu. USB option is listed here?

In General, Toshiba offers small tool for installing on USB recovery image. This bootable USB key can be used for recovery image installation.
You created this USB key in the past?

Out of curiosity: what operating system you want to install?

Good so my computer starts freezing at random when I wear random programs so would simply uninstall and reinstall them and no problem.  Then another program would freeze whenever it was opened until finally after what a freezing of the computer screen would be black every time at startup.  I tried holding F8 to boot into safe mode but no luck.  When I want Ctrl + alt + delete the computer restarts and after pressing F8, I get the Start Menu.  I try and select options in the start menu, but you get a black screen with a mouse or the option will work, then I'll get to the screen with the yellow bars indicating that Microsoft load, then a black screen.  My theory on the problem is I have a scratched or damaged hard drive, and it's because I remember my computer falling out of my bed (wood) and the problems started shortly after.  If someone has any ideas as to fix it would be great.  I'm sol at the moment because I am in China for the summer and speak Chinese, so I doubt I can get no help here.  Also if it is a hard drive problem anyone would be able to tell if it's my main hard drive which is upward or my hard drive partitioned.  I know that I have a partitioned hard drive that allows me to format my hard drive and reload windows without a boot disk.  If the hard disk is damaged I'm really screwed, otherwise I probably install a new hard drive for main myself.  Thanks again for any help!

You have two Partitions on the hard drive of one; a partition that contains the operating system, the other the recovery Partition to back to factory settings...

TAP F8, you normally don't take it no, to enter safe mode.

    See you soon.

  • Desktop HP ENVY 700: problems with the boot from usb in the bios

Hi I'm trying to boot from usb on a desktop HP ENVY 700. I don't know the serial number now.

I followed the instructions and have produced a bootable USB and I checked this on a work dell computer where there is an option for me to boot from my USB if I so wish, but on my HP ENVY any options choose it does not appear with my USB in question and when I try to change the boot sequence making sure the usb/floppy and drive hard usb is above the rest of the sequencers starting it always starts just to the top as usual to my windows boot 10. I've disabled secure boot and used the boot of the legacy and it still does not work.

I went through all the options I can that seem to be logic and it just does not work. I don't understand and I have to start using a usb key that I use the operating system can be very dangerous in a real environment, so it can not be downloaded to the hard drive.

I need immediate help, this becomes quite frustrating now that it should be simple to do, but HP is not the way to simplisitic to do.

Please if someone could point me in the right direction I would be so appreciative ideally if I could have a ride on the way to do

I need this to work because I can't afford to buy new systems and its for my studies so its imperative

Your PC has a motherboard of Memphis and happens to have a UEFI BIOS and the hard drive of the GPT format.

You can check the type of hard disk online order volume by using the DiskPart utility.

Create a flashdrive bootable UEFI with RUFUS.

    https://Rufus.AKEO.IE/

Plug it into an available usb port before you press the power button. Near the powr button and immediately start to tap the F9 key to enter the boot from the sources menu. Select the Flash drive under the UEFI Boot sources. Let the boot process. If you have created the key correctly, it should start.

Then it just sits there, frozen. The problem is not the usb device, because it works on my other four machines. I think it's maybe a problem with the BIOS, because I tried to boot F9 and I tried esc. Same result. Anyone got any help?

    I found the problem.

So he can start my usb device, I had to:

    1. unplug my hard drive to the card

    2. boot into the BIOS and reset all default BIOS

    3. turn the computer off and then plug in the hard drive

  • Iconia W700P - need to access bluetooth keyboard during the boot UEFI or need to boot from a USB

Solved a problem, now face two other:

The W700P will now boot from a DVD recovery Acronis TI, but to select the restore function (then the specific restore backup), it requires an entry for a keyboard. The Bluetooth keyboard supplied with the W700P does not work during the boot sequence. I prefer not to go out and buy a USB keyboard, but it is perhaps the only option.

    Or-

The W700P boot from a USB key can stick? I read that this is impossible, but in looking at the Acer store, that's all they offer as recovery media for the W700P. I made a bootable USB key, when I bought the computer first, but I can't seem to start. All I get is repeated boot Acer screens, maybe he's trying different options in the boot order. I tried to change the order, put a password for boot and secure boot off, but I still have the same question.

    Any ideas?

Solved once and for the moment! I now have a USB hub, USB, USB and DVD USB mouse keyboard (powered externally). Throw all these things on the machine, I was able to boot into the Acronis Recovery DVD, go to the menu and reinstall a previous backup of Windows 8.1.

  • How to change the boot order in Windows 7.

I have a 64-bit operating system and I'm trying to remove windows 7 and install Vista. When I press F8, I take to a screen that does not allow me to change the boot order. If Windows 7 keeps on loading and the DVD are never read. How can I change the options, then the boot order is changed and the DVD are read and I can install Vista.

    Help please.

    Hello

Check with your system manufacturer support, their books online and ask in their forums (if any).

Configuration/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 as you start then look at the screen that will tell you how-
the order of boot on CD/DVD drive everything first. Some systems use F12 or other keys to allow a time change
    in the boot order.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite A300 - Boot from USB Flash Drive

Is it possible to make my laptop boot USB flash drive?
I checked the BIOS settings, but could not find anything that allows the boot from USB.

    > So after 40 hours there is no one who can answer this question 'complex'... strange forum.
Hay buddy, you have good sense of humor ;)
Do you really believe that someone to sit here and wait for your non-complex question? ;)
Anyway, this issue is so simple and you don't need to ask someone here. If you do not find option bootable BIOS to set USB peripheral device for me is logical that this will not work.
    Please check the BIOS settings.

  • Re: boot from USB or CD/DVD

    I have an Acer V5-571pg-9814 with pre-installed Windows 8.

I have tried to boot a Linux live usb and can't even get a cable USB or CD/DVD to boot at all.

I want to check some of the Linux operating systems to see how they can install on this computer until I consider that for a dual-boot with Win8. Please note that I have read other messages here on the installation actually another OS as a dual boot, which I may need later, but now I would just use the live USB or CD/DVD and view these operating systems - and I have not found a position that directly addressed this issue.

I tried to activate and use F12 (by default it is set to off in the bios). I tried to use Win8: charms > pc settings > advanced > reboot - troubleshooting > advanced - then use USB or CD/DVD, orinto UEFI boot to the bios and boot order settings.

The computer does not recognize the USB and CD/DVD, but only straight Win8 boots - no matter which option to choose or even if I put the boot order USB and CD/DVD before Win8.

So, how to start from a CD/DVD or USB port?

    Found http://acer--uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26603/related/1

And we can only hope that you don't end up like this:

  • Can't boot from USB-DM1-4020sa

    Hello

I just bought a HP DM1 Netbook AMD E-450 (4020sa).  I'm just getting started get the configuration of the computer and try to run through some diagnostics to make sure that the material is good.  I have created a 16GB bootable USB key with Memtest on it, formatted FAT32.  Works quite well on my desktop.

However, for the life of me I can't figure out how to boot from USB on the netbook!  I tried to change the boot order, updated the BIOS, trying all 3 USB ports.  Nothing works!

To the first pressing ESC then F9 for the start menu gave me 2 options, one to boot from USB to boot from the hard drive.  I could not choose the USB, it was selected on the hard drive of permenantly.  Now, I don't see the option at all!

I'm considering installing Win7 x 64, Ubuntu and in future Win8... so I need to know a USB booting is possible on this netbook.

    Help, please!  Thank you!

Well, although Memtest86 + v4.20 is supposed to support AMD E-series processors, maybe this doesn't completely still.  I created a key Reader USB with the ISO of Windows 7 x 64, following the instructions of Ars Technica and has worked without any problems whatsoever.

Anyway, do not know why the Memtest86 + won't work, but eh... Well.  The laptop can boot from USB.

    Hello

    Try to install MBR mode.

    1. first create the bootable operating system

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

    2. make sure that disable the "SecureBoot" in BIOS and also enable support "Roop". Probably, you will find them in the "Startup" tab If I remember correctly, "SecureBoot State" and "Boot Mode" are the parameters to change.

    3. turn on your laptop and press F12 during the logo Dell window appears and select your USB drive bootable

    4. He will lead the new copy of your new operating system.

  • Boot from USB device on Inspiron 5520

    Hey guys,.

I got a new Inspiron 15R 5520. The problem is that I can't start the laptop from a USB key like I did on N5040 (my 2 year old laptop), and there is no option to do this. First of all, I hit "F2" to enter the BIOS Setup page, there are only 3 options under the boot device: hard drive, CD/DVD, network. I restart the computer and press "F12" to select the boot device, still no USB.

Dell freeze function to boot from USB device? Is there a solution? Thanks in advance.

  • Toshiba NB520 - can't boot from USB

I NB520, I tried possible ways to boot from usb and it still does not work.
    I need some suggestions.
    Thank you.

Usually the name of the USB device does not appear in the start menu.
If you want to run rom flash USB memory key, you need to connect the USB flash first.
Press the power button, then F12 and select USB.

But note: USB flash memory stick must be ready for start-up.
If it was not made "bootable" and then the boot from USB does not work.
