NB500 - 12 c - HDD is blocked by password

Well, I have a toshiba nb500 - 12 c that I na not use for a long time because the screen was broken, recently my other laptop (toshiba nb250 - 10 h) has started to receive some big gal, the processor overheats and gets to 60-70 degrees in 15 minutes and there is no solution, I tried to clean the dust and all but not its use.

So what I did was to replace my nb-250 in my nb-500 screen, when I started the nb-500, the screen worked fine, but I was invited a bios password, I had already asked a password of bios before and I had no idea what it was because I never put any in the first place and the laptop came without any bios password configured , looking for some tutorials on the internel I managed to bypass the password of bios, restarted the laptop and now its wonder the hard drive password, he wasn't even a password hard drive configured, I have no idea why its asking me for these passwords and windows cannot start eveytime I turn on the laptop, toshiba logo appears, and it follows a blue screen asking for a password hdd/Sdd.

I've read tutorials who says to a blank password in the bios resets the password, but it does not work... im stuck... can someone help me with this?

Hello

This is very stupid situation now. To be honest I don't know what to say, but I use different books for 15 years now and it is unclear to me that the BIOS HDD password can be set only.
In the past, I disassembled several machines and changed components of different material such as HDD, RAM, WLAN modules, mainboard even exchange but I have never noticed that BIOS was locked/secured by password only. For me, it is certainly not possible.

As I see that you have made progress using different methods that you found on the net. Maybe you did something wrong and now HDD is blocked. Problem is that the HARD drive password will be written to the HARD disk directly, and if you don't have the right password you will not be able to access.

Sorry but I do not think that anyone here can help you.

I dropped something heavy on the keyboard of my Tecra M9, which ruined the motherboard. I heard tell that I now can't access the data on my hard drive password protected (that is to say, it requires a password before starting upwards) because he needs the motherboard with which this password created. Can anyone say if this is indeed the case, and how to recover the data?

    Hello

I think that you don t need the same motherboard in order to remove the HARD drive password.
As Tom said, the HARD drive must be connected to the laptop that supports the BIOS where you can change or delete the HDD password.

Here you can find a good post how to remove the known HARD drive password:

the technician should do the same thing after the HARD drive has been connected to the motherboard.

  • How can I block or password protect all the apps?

My kids are crazy with the printer on my printer app, every day, I have someone has turned on a new application and printed a bunch of comic strips, puzzles, colouring etc.  How to password protect or block all the apps market in the first place?  I always want my printer to be hung on the network for the convenience of printing from any computer in the House, but the apps are driving me crazy and costing me a fortune in paper and ink.  Help, please.

    Hi smjoines007,

You can go into the built-in Web (EWS) of the printer server and disable the application under the Administrator setting.  To prevent your children to access the built-in Web server, you can also set a password for the built-in Web server.  Here are the instructions:

    a. Enter the IP address of the printer in a Web browser (for example. IE, FireFox or Chrome)

    b. Select the tab 'Settings' (ignore any warning of web server certificate and continue)

    c. Select "Administrator settings" in the side menu

    d. uncheck 'Apps' and apply

    e. Select "Password settings" on the side menu

    f. Select a password for EWS and apply

    I hope this helps.

  • Re: New Satellite C660 blocked by password

I know this will sound silly. but I'm an ODP buy my first computer (for the wife at Christmas) and I don't have any idea what I'm doing. We bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 - 28 tons Saturday

During installation, it asked my wife to give it a name who did and she did also a password. She has set up ok and was able to access the internet, etc.. Later, she turned off and concluded that she could not use it again. When she starts the computer name is ok, but when asked for a password, the password chosen does not work. We have tried everything, every variation of his password etc etc and cannot enter into the computer again

What can we do? our password does not work, and we do not know how to enter a new. Can someone help or advise what we can do? We have even not yet guaranteed. Thanks a lot if you can help.

    Try this first.
Turn on the laptop and then press and hold F8. A screen should open with different options, using the arrow cursor / keys select "safe mode with networking". I hope that you will get a login with 'Administrator' as one of the users screen and if you select this account, and there will be no password. I suggest that you use "help and Support" of the Start button to see how you reset the password.

If you now have your machine backward, I suggest that you look at the creation of a password reset disk.

If you still cannot come back in the machine and then if you create backup discs, then you can restore the machine out of the box with them State

  • Lenovo G450 blocked supervisor password

    Dear Sirs,

I tried to remove the supervisor password in the BIOS by writing the old password, pressing 'ENTER' button twicely, then restart my laptop. After that I still see the request of password, but it is not related with my old password and password empty. So my laptop data bloked.

I want to get suggestions and hear, it's a common situation or what I had done inproperly? If so, then why IBM does not preclude any statement and that pacriculary can help me the IBM support?

Recently, I posted this problem, but it was closed by the moderator because of "this subject is not allowed to be discussed here, as described in the forum rules. I understand and thank him for the proposed support link, but I have found no support contacts throw in my country (Ukraine). I ask everyone to consult me to keep the rules!

If your information is under the rules, please answer me by ruslan.voroschuk (at) mail.ru!

    Thank you!

The problem has been resolved in itself!

The problem is inspired by leaving it on the 'request password' in the BIOS menu. So after having erased the password of my laptop continues to ask me the supervisor password, I had put forward and remembers correctly.

But my supervisor password has some symbols such as ',' and it's up to 7 symbols length. I was confused when I heard noises by entering the password and stopped my attempt. After you have entered the correct password not taking into account the annoying sounds, I've unlocked my phone!

Topics on the fourm causes of 'noise' show me the right way.

Sorry to put on a misunderstanding!

I liked my G450 and your nice forum!

    Thank you all!

  • Reset password BIOS HP OmniBook 300

    Hello!

This is my first post here on the forums of HP and I have a problem. Now, I know there is already a similar topic here somewhere, but I didn't want to resurrect an over 3 years, so I've created a new.

The thing is, a few days ago, I managed to get my hands on a very old laptop HP - OmniBook 300, but the guy who sold it to me "forgot" to tell me that it is password protected. Since it is not able to remember the password, I'm stuck with a work laptop that refuses to boot the operating system (so I think it's a BIOS password in question here).

In any case, I tried everything, including pay 20 dollars for a guy who claims he has a program that can generate a master password for this old OmniBook based on a randomly generated code.

So I did what he said (and what I read in the service manual that I dug up on internet) and on the password entry screen I pressed ALT + SHIFT + F10 and some kind of code appears on the display (in the manual it says this is the encrypted password). I sent this code him and a few hours later he sent me three "master passwords" claiming that at least one should work, depending on the version of the BIOS. Unfortunately, it did not work...

In any case, I was wondering anyone here have an idea how to override the BIOS on OmniBook 300 password? I don't even bother contact HP support since I read in many places that people have tried this, but I got the answer that this laptop is no longer supported because it is too old.

Thank you for your attention and I hope someone can help me.

OK, it's not really a solution to remove a BIOS password, but I managed to start the operating system (Windows 3.1/DOS) through a 'solution '.

The problem I had is that OmniBook was protected with a BIOS and OS (HARD/flash drive disk) password. Someone suggested on the other forum, boot from a disk D, reformatting a HARD drive and reinstall everything from scratch, but it was impossible because of the BIOS (or other) password was in place.

My solution has been to try to reformat the flash card using another device. First of all, I have tried in one of my older laptops with a PCMCIA slot, but Windows XP called for appropriate dirvers. Then, I tried to use my old Pocket/handhelds computers - Jornada 720 oone both 320LX asked pilots. After this failed, I tried something that should have been the obvious choice at the beginning - I plugged 10 MB flash card OmniBook in HP 200 lx (200 LX is an old BACK pocket with PCMCIA Type II slot)... and IT WORKED! I managed to reformat the flash memory card successfully using the commands "format a:" and "fdisk100". I plugged the card towards the OmniBook and the completed system C drive is empty and available to reinstall everything automatically, "get around" the BIOS password. Now everything works as it should and the OmniBook 300 is really a great little machine BACK and now I realize why it was so popular back in one day.

BTW, I recon that this laptop was stolen a long time ago and that he kept changing the owner because we didn't know what to do with computer (HDD, locked, blocked BIOS)... until now. The BIOS password is still there, but this the hell - it works.

  • iPad Air reset without iTunes or password?

  • Removal of password BIOS on Tecra M11 - 11 M

I have a Toshiba Tecra M11 - 11 M, which was blocked from password. I stripped the computer laptop and removed the BIOS during 10 min but the rest password battery still IE on the screen it still reads PASSWORD - *.

There is no way to get into the BIOS through a combination of keys.
There are no markings or letters on the motherboard whether ie: C35 - C36 or J12 - J13 out short which would in most cases to remove the password and allow access to the BIOS.

The technicians out there with any ideas would be much appreciated.
Some people asking for help with a password of bios are not thieves but crazy just forgetful.

As far as I know Toshiba uses several methods to remove BIOS password. On commercial machines like Tecra and Portege method is not the same as the Satellite models.
Remove battery BIOS works on desktop computers, but not on mobile machines.

Mobile machinery must have better protection due to the fact that can be stolen easily and it is very important against a misuse.
    > Some people asking for help with a password of bios are not thieves but crazy just forgetful.
S OK, but you can't wait this BIOS password removal method will be described on the public forum. Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they will do it for you. All you have to do is show an invoice validates and prove that you are the real owner of this Tecra machine.
