  Hi all

  I recently purchased a Qosmio X 870 116 and I am extremely disappointed. It is supposed to be a gaming computer, but I can barely run that one game without the PC hangs. I tried to run newer games such as Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2. During the download of the GW2 Launcher, the PC crashed after a while, closing without no reason.

  I finally managed to install the game on my laptop even when but I always have problems since I play after no more two minutes, the game slows down, the frame per second falls dramatically to 2 FPS and laptop computer crashes again.

  I think there is a problem with the graphics card or the fan because eveytime I try to launch a game, the fan starts to run very fast and noisely.

  I thought that it can also be a problem with technology Nvidia because of their service to Optimus on their recent graphics cards, so I tried to "give priority" use my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 M instead of the Intel HD family 4000 chipset used in the laptop computer, by right-clicking the icon of GW2 and opening the NVIDIA Control Panel to select the option "performance Nvidia High."

  Unfortunately, the game freezes still after a few minutes. I have of course updated the drivers for the Nvidia card, but even when it does not work.

  In addition, the laptop seems quite slow for me even while browsing on the Internet and the desktop which is rather worrying since the laptot has 12 GB of memory.

  What I was doing to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before and it printed.

  If your device does not work, perform a backup now if you have not already done save the file to a place and a name that you can easily locate it on computer.

  I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all the other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer, thus eliminating the operating system for the BB to the computer in order to ensure that the version I want to reinstall a new version uploaded.

  Get the latest Desk Top software DTS)

  and install it on the computer.

  Get the latest version of the operating system

  and save it on computer.

  To erase all data on your BlackBerry device, follow these steps.

  (1) download JL_Cmder http://www.4shared.com/get/oqP9V-2Q/JL_Cmder_v19.html

  (2) install JL_Cmder to the computer.

  (3) double check you have already saved the BB. If you DO NOT, you will lose all data.

  (4) make sure that DTS is closed and plug in the BB to the computer via USB

  We have two bugs attached landfills here:

  DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133)

  Bug DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION control has a value of 0 x 00000133.   If the removal and replacement of Norton do not help, the second error checking is:

  VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)

  The basic definition of a bugcheck 0 x 116 is:

  There may be a bug in the video driver or video material.

  So I would now explain what means VIDEO_TDR_ERROR. Firstly, TDR is an acronym for Timeout detection and recovery. Detection time and recovery was introduced in Vista and carried over to Windows 7. Rather than exactly what detection time and recovery did exactly, I'll just quote the MSDN article!

  Timeout detection:

  Planner of the GPU, which is part of the DirectX Graphics kernel subsystem (Dxgkrnl.sys), detects that the GPU takes more than the amount of time to perform a particular task. The GPU scheduler then attempts to anticipate on this particular task. Preempt is a timeout 'wait', which is the actual time of TDR. This step is the detection of delay of the process phase. The period of default timeout in Windows Vista and later versions is 2 seconds. If the GPU cannot complete or anticipate the current task period TDR, the diagnostic operating system that the GPU is frozen.
  To avoid detection of timeout to occur, hardware vendors should ensure that graphics operations (i.e. buffer DMA completion) will not take more than 2 seconds in scenarios such as productivity and the game to the end user.

  Preparation for recovery:

  The operating system GPU Scheduler calls the function DxgkDdiResetFromTimeout of the miniport driver of the display to inform the driver that the operating system detected a timeout.   The following hardware problems may cause a TDR event:

  1 unstable overclock (CPU, GPU, etc.). Return any overclocks to stock settings.

  2 bad sector in memory, resulting in corrupted data is communicated between the GPU and system (memory video, otherwise known as VRAM or physical memory, also called RAM).

  RAM test: Memtest86 +.

  3 corrupt hard drive or install Windows / OS install resulting in corruption in the registry or the page file.

  To reset your swap file, follow these steps:

  (a) go to start... Run... and type "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.

  -Then click on the Advanced tab.
  - then the Performance Settings button.
  - then on the tab advanced following.
  -and then click the virtual memory button.

  (b) in this window, note the current settings of your swap file (so you can restore them later).

  -Then click on the option button "No paging file", and
  - Press the Set"" button. Don't forget, if you have several hard drives, make sure that the paging file is set to 0 on all of them.
  -Click OK to exit the dialog boxes.

  (c) restarted (this will remove the file from your system)

  ((d) then go back following the directions in step one) and re-enter the settings that you noted in step

  (b) follow the steps along the (and including) the reset.

  (e) once you have restarted this second time, go back and make sure the settings are as they are supposed to be.

  Run the System File Checker:

  SFC. EXE/SCANNOW

  Click on start and type "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)

  At the top of the search box, right-click on the cmd.exe and select "Run as Administrator"

  In the black window that opens, type "SFC. EXE/scannow"(without the quotes) and press ENTER.

  Let the program run and after return what he says when it's done.

  -Bad driver (some drivers will cause an event due to internal bugs, but they are not nearly as common as many think because of all the previous things, causing the same symptom) - (remove all 3rd party programs and make sure that are not load drivers. Then install only what you need 3rd party stuff and make sure it is the latest version).

  If sailing, you mean browsing the web, you can keep a tab open with youtube play while browsing in another tab in Safari and most other browsers.

  Alternatively you can use Slide on if your iPad supports, to have the application Youtube game open and drag in Safari or other supported browser sliding from the right side of the screen. YouTube does not support the full Split view, so the more you will get is a narrow bar with the inside browser.

My "cursor" - the small black arrow - is still there but when hover over an area of research for example and "click on" my trackball that nothing happens, even if the little hand symbol appears on a link if I "click" the trackball that nothing happens. I discovered I can press return when the hand appears and it goes on the link, but this is unnecessary when only the arrow appears.

  With the BB powered, remove the battery and keep it for a few minutes. Let us know how you go.

  I tried your methods, but still did not work. In the meantime, I did a full restore to two partitions, and it worked. I guess the problem was I uninstalled a few unwanted games, which came with the pc and the anti-virus of the trial.

So the next time you have the problem have look lower down for writing and or read rates which shows that intensive use and I would recommend ESXTOP using next time to give you a good amount of data on the problems that you may encounter.

  In addition the Vista operating system needs a lot of resources of the laptop. He needs more as a beginning like Win XP OS. The games are unable to use these resources because these resources are occupied by Vista.

  1 GB memory not enough these days to the same basis of calculation.

  My recommendation would be to take away the 1 GB memory card and install 2 GB maximum memory.

  This should make your best performing PC for one low price.
