NB520 - upgrade to 4 GB RAM

I gave a try to upgading NB520 memory to 4 GB (I read the manual, I know it says 2GB maximum), just in case.
Sorry to say it didn't start. It is not a materof 32-bit windows or 64-bit because BIOS (1.5 and 1.9) got stuck before moving the control to windows.
Module used was KINGSTON 1066 CL7:
DDR3-1066
KVR1066D3S7 / 4G

I read somewhere that someone was using 4GB on a NB
Someone tried 4 GB? It really works?
Any BIOS stuff to operate?

The Intel Atom processor is not capable of 4 GB, there is no way around it.

I think think the AMD Hudson (NB550D) platform that may have a capacity of 4 GB.

Yes it is possible. I have NB520-11. After reading many threads here I've done my own experiences.
Using 4 GB RAM on preinstalled original Win7 starter doesn't have any effect because only 2 GB will be usable. I've install my own Win7 32-bit Home Premium and system displays now 4 GB installed and about 3 GB will be usable.

To upgrade I ve used 4 GB of RAM on my Satellite P500. There PA3677U-1M4G part number.

How to upgrade my 256 MB RAM on my Toshiba Satellite 2450 201? Where is the RAM located on it?

AFAIK, you can upgrade to max 1024 MB (2x512MB) memory
You use PC2100 DDR - RAM memory modules.
The memory must be located under the keyboard. Remove the keyboard, to first remove the thin cover above the keyboard and remove the 2 screws that are placed under the thin cover.

But if you don't have any experience you shouldn't t do. In this case, contact the service in your country

  • How can I upgrade my PROCESSOR and RAM

Hello, I use a HP Compaq Presario CQ43. There with APU AMD E-450 with Radeon HD graphics card and 2.0 GB of RAM. My question is can I upgrade my processor and RAM 4 GB because I want to play games. If Ican please tell me how? Please help me.

    Your Service Manual:

    Manual

You already have the best processor that can fit on your motherboard which is an AMD version. Theoretically, you can go with a card mother Intel and processor, but that would cost a lot of money (more than a new laptop) and give only slightly better graphics. not yet for the games. To be explicit, the graphics 'card' are not a card, but a single chip directly soldered on the motherboard and cannot be removed, replaced, improved or anything of the sort.

The slightly good news is that you can install up to 8 GB of memory... is the DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM. That will boost the overall performance, but still not make a game by a long shot machine.

  • Satellite U300 - help hardware upgrade to SSD and RAM

    Hello world
I want to completely upgrade my toshiba satellite U300-140, mount VISTA and default the technical features, posted above.

I need your help to choose the best (and economic) device SSD and RAM slot. It is very important for me to know what is probably compatible with my device. Please, could you help me in your experience?

And... an SSD is worthy, at the speed of my laptop? I was thinking about kingston 120 Gb or 240 GB V300

    http://www.Toshiba.it/discontinued-p...Lite-U300-14O/

According to specification for laptop, you can be upgraded up to 4 GB RAM in order to use 2 x 2 GB of RAM. The compatible RAM modules have PA3513U-1M2G part number.

I think with SSD, you shouldn't have any problems. I updated my old P500 with 250 GB Samsung 840 SSD and it works perfectly.

does anyone have a Toshiba Satellite L10-104 with more than 1 GB of RAM installed? I'm one of these laptops for upgrade and reinstall the operating system and other software. Toshiba says that it only supports 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) of RAM but Intel says techdocs this Notebpook (i855GM) chipset will support 2 GB RAM Max.

The other question is, is the CPUupgradeable? The laptop has more no guarantee and I am an experienced user and I see no problem to install a new processor in a laptop.

    Hello

    > someone at - it a Toshiba Satellite L10-104 with more than 1 GB of ram installed? I had one of the theses Npotebooks for upgrade and reinstall the operating system and other software.

According to the specifications of l 10:

    standard: 256 MB
    maximum extension: 1 024 MB
    technology: DDR RAM

So, I don't think that it can support up to 2 Gb

  • Satellite A500 - upgrade the processor and RAM void my warranty?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A500, and I think to upgrade my processor CPU and RAM. If I open it invalidate or do I need a Toshiba authority to open it? Removes the card RAM will void the warranty?

All I need to know is that can I put RAM and CPU processor without voiding the warranty

    Hey,.

If you upgrade the CPU, you will cancel the warranty because this upgrade is not supported from Toshiba.
In addition, I put t understand why you buy a laptop, and then you think of some hardware upgrades. In your case, I'd rather bought a laptop with faster processor and more RAM.

See also this article from Toshiba:
[Is it possible to upgrade the CPU or GPU of a Toshiba laptop computer? | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm]

Finally and above all a RAM upgrade is not a problem. So check your user manual how to do this.

I have on my system, 256 MB of ram (DDR pc2700) on a site and I have a free slot out, so my question is: what is the best combination to upgrade? and if I can add for example, a module of 512 (pc2700) so I have 768 MB of ram?
Thank you for you time and help

    Hello

The maximum memory that can be used is 2048 MB. Sam is right. You can use all three modules of RAM available. Here is the part of them number if you want to orer ome of them:

  • Upgrade to 1 gig Ram on a Satellite A60 302

Hi there, 1st time user here
I bought a Sodimm DDR 333 mhz 1gig of ram card for my Satellite A60-302 and installed today - but without success
The laptop turns on but the screen remains black and then the laptop turns off, it also emitted a continuous beep. I thought it was because the RAM was too, but he can handle 1280MB of RAM and 256 enjoys so it should be able to handle
RAM has not been affected by the static-hands then someone can help?
    Thank you very much
    Matt

You re right. The unit should be able to handle the module memory 1024Mo in one location.
I have only one explanation why the laptop will not work after the upgrade.
Either the module is not compatible and not right or it s simply corrupt.
I recommend using the modules recommended by Toshiba.
    These are:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

    PA3313U-1M1G is a module of memory-SO DIMM 200-pin DDR 333 MHz PC2700.

  • Satellite P105 - upgrade to 4 GB RAM

    Hi all

I want to upgrade the RAM in my Satellite P105 to 4 GB. There are currently 2 x 1 GB of RAM. In order to
buy the largest RAM and I need to know the model number of the computer that I have trouble finding.

Any suggestions on how I can find it or if it is necessary to have this to buy the correct upgraded RAM.
Once the RAM installed there at - it else I need to do to make it work.

The upgrade of RAM will make much difference to the overall speed of the computer. I know that the computer can accept up to 4GB.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Derek

To have 4 GB of RAM (the maximum possible RAM for your laptop platform), you need to purchase blocks of 2 x 2 GB DDR2 RAM. The maximum speed of RAM (533, 667, 800, or 1 066 MHz) makes no difference in the speed of your laptop, because your RAM runs at the same speed as the speed of the FSB of your processor (I think that your processor 533 MHz FSB). There is no 533 MHz RAM already in stock in our days, 667 MHz RAM is always available. 800 MHz RAM (PC 6400) is the cheapest for our time so you can buy it.

I have another question for you: why do you want to have 4 GB of RAM? To install 64-bit Windows?
You can install 64 bit OS if you have Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion 64 X 2 processor. Intel Celeron and Intel's Core Duo processor does not support 64-bit system. But I don't think that the installation of the 64-bit operating system can increase the speed of your laptop as your chipset (I think you have Intel 945 GM/PM) supports 64-bit computing, but still doesn't give advanced 64 bit on 32-bit systems productivity the.
In the 64-bit operating system only some programs (specially designed for 64-bit computing) work faster.

You didn't say if it was the 14-ac146tu or 15-ac146tu, so I watch them both. They are same for memory.

See page 43 of the 14-ac146tu Maintenance and Service Guide shows it is 1 slot and can have 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB.

See page 46 of the 15-ac-146tu Maintenance and Service Guide show it is 1 slot and can have 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB.

The part numbers for the memory of the two are the same.

  • P7 - 1010t cto Pavilion: upgrade of processor and RAM memory

I wonder if the upgrade to a faster processor and the RAM imcreassed will provide significant performance and practice

Yes, but you must consider a few things first.

RAM, if you currently have one slot of occupied RAM then add more RAM to fill all the slots does two things for you, it increase the bandwidth to access RAM and what is obvious, give you more memeory for your applications and reduce disk swapping.  Increase the bandwidth for RAM access ceratinly will provide a performance gain just by itself.

Upgrade the processor is debatable and depends largely on what you use your PC for.  If you simply run email and web browsing then probably an upgrade is useless, but if you run several CPU intensive tasks then a processor upgrade help. Processor intel celeron and pentium are core, i3 range are dual core and the i5 and i7 are four hearts.  Simply the best kernels if you run intensive taks and i5 and i7 processors support the turbo boost, which means carrots redundant can kick in to increase the speed of these processors according to demand.  Hyper-threading (with several processes running in parallel) is also supported by the i7 (maybe some processors i5 as well).
