Necessary for Pavilion DV7t-7000 BIOS update support MRC 1.5.0.0 (external monitor flicker problem)

I just bought an edition four HP PAVILION DV7-7000 with the graphics of 650 m hd4000/nvidia intel

combination. I'm running Windows 7 x 64 with 16 GB of RAM of the system.

I had some serious screen from flicker of my external monitor from the day I bought the laptop. I did some testing and found that the problem occurred while the screen resolution to 1920 x 1200 x 32. Any lower resolution or bit depth could reduce or eliminate the problem of flicker.

I did some research on the web and found this:

Hi all

This problem is a BIOS problem more precisely with the memory reference Code (MRC) version 1.4.0.0 or more. Contact the manufacturer of your system or the card mother for an update system for your system BIOS or the motherboard that includes the MRC 1.5.0.0 or newer.
If you have a system with 2 or more memory modules and are comfortable with the removal of all but one of them so that your memory is in single channel mode, try and remove all but one of them and the problem will disappear. This can be used as a workaround until you are able to update your BIOS from the manufacturer of your system or motherboard that includes the MRC 1.5.0.0 or newer.

Is this thread by forum on the website of intel:
http://communities.Intel.com/thread/30096?start=105&TSTART=0

I think that's the question that I am experiencing. I checked it by deleting memory modules and solve the problem itself.

Does anyone know where we can expect an update of the bios? I really want to reinstall my second memory stick and retrieve my additional 8 GB.

You have the original sticks that came with your laptop?

    Hello

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC.  Due to a new job, I need to update my processor of the current 2.30 GHz (see exact specifications below, please) of at least 3.0 GHz.

Is there a processor 3.0 GHz there that is compatible with this particular computer? I called tech support and they told me they don't know. I don't know who else to ask.

This computer was purchased just a few months ago (before I got the new job). I really don't buy a new computer, if possible, if I can upgrade the processor in it.

Here are the current processor specifications:

    Intel Core i7 3610QM
    Codename Ivy Bridge
    RPGA Socket 988 B package
    The 22nm technology
Specification Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz

    Thanks in advance.

Well, it seems that one (that I found) 3.0 GHz processor that Intel made for my chipset (HM77 Express Chipset) and it's the Extreme edition i7-3940XM (http://ark.intel.com/products/71096/)

Priced at $1,000 +, it looks like I'll be shopping for a new computer.

Don't know if anyone from HP read the peer forums, however, I won't buy another HP product.

This machine had problems outside of me needing to upgrade the processor for my own personal reasons. Your support is grossly lack in all areas even pull your techscannot model with the serial number.

Both modules can be used. DDR3L means that memory using low voltage. Means that the modules produce less heat and last longer than DDR3 pure ones. I always use 1600 MHz CL9 DDR3 Corsair pure modules.

  • Pavilion 15-p246sa: BIOS update successful but cannot now access the BIOS screen

The recommendation in HP Support Assistant I've just updated BIOS version f33, f34.  This succeeded and the Pavilion starts normally.

However when I try pressing ESC at startup key is ignored and the trunk.

How to reactivate the computer to respond to the ESC key and allow me to access the system configuration utility?  Have I somehow corrupt CMOS data?

SOLVED!  I discovered the site of download drivers HP there is more BIOS updates for my Pavilion, the last being F.42.  So I installed this.

At that time, it was possible to get the system configuration utility by pressing the ESC key.  However, it works a cold power upward, not reboot.

Also the window by pressing the key is very short, some say about one-fifth of a second, and if you press two times you do not see the system configuration at all.  If some patience is required.

  • Impossible to install OS on SSD for QE dv7t-7000

The difficulty to install the operating system for my brand-spanking-new QE dv7t-7000 on a 120 GB Kingston SSD (V + model, I can provide details but don't know offhand)

Operating system is WIndows 7 Pro

    Base processor QE

Try to install recovery disks. I feed all four discs, a lot of progress through the test bars. Lots or that it recharges. Looks like it's done nearly completely when the installation process falls down. Looking at the newspaper said something like:

'2nd ch...' and 'Error detected... RM error bonnefin'

"[DeployRE] Impossible to return c:\rm\rp\sources\boot.wim to d:\Recovery\WindowsRE\WinRE.wim.

    "[DeployRE]. Could not find \bootmgr

"[DeployRE] Impossible to move Deskttop.inr to d:\". »

    "[DeployRE] annot move Typelist.tst d:\". »

or something to that effect. I've got 2 MB of files which describe all this, if you are really interested.

I ran gparted live on the thing and it seems that the installation process put a 300 MB partition and a 92 GB NTFS partition and some quite small partitions (do not remember) and left almost 20 GB unallocated. Strange.

I suspect one of the following conditions is true:

    (1) curiously, 120 GB is too small to build a c:\ drive base for a newish computer. Especially when you talk about all the bloatware included in a recovery disk HP base install.

    (2) HP and Intel have found a way to prevent people from using SSDS on newer computers. Maybe they did things in the BIOS. They want to analyze the benefits brought by the SSD in incremental blocks and sprinkle them to the top of the line. Note that HP includes only the SSD in their more expensive laptops.

    (3) pilot error

    (4) the SSD is broken

    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Hello

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery process, there is a work before right around.

You can create an installation of the retail disc yourself using another PC-just download the good Disk Image from the link below ( this must be the exact version provided with your laptop) and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

Additional drivers, you may need can be found here.

  • DV7t-7000 / A5F92AV: updated SATA drive question

    Hello

I'm looking to replace this original SATA3 drive in my DV7t-7000 with 2 new drives.  I am interested in Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD for the boot drive and a digital Western WD10JPLX (1 TB/7200 RPM/min/SATA3/4096 block).  I need some advice on if these components will work with my older HP laptop.

I did some research and I'm not sure a 1 TB/7200 RPM would be recognized by the system.  I read where I might need to go with a drive 5400 RPM instead (again, not sure).  I am also concerned by the 4096 AF (Advanced Format) specs on the new drive compared to my old drive.  I read some of the latest discs may work in 512th (emulation) to be compatible with older systems.  I have looked for the specs SATA on my laptop and can't find if it would support the AF 4 k format.

If someone with more familiarity with the Player upgrades could let me know if these discs would work for my upgrade (or suggest other specifications that would be better), I'd be happy.  I can always buy a new version of the original disk of 1 TB for less money, but the new WD Black drive has a warranty vs 5 years the 2 years on the OEM Seagate drive.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Dean

Because it's just going to be storage, everything you need to do is put the 1 TB drive in and use the disk management console to initialize it, partition, format, and assign drive letters (Mount). Windows 7 or a works perfectly with the advanced format drives.

  • Pavilion G6 - 1061ee BIOS update error causing the extreme fan noise

    Hello

It been a while since that HP has completed a new update of the BIOS for my Pavilion G6-1061ee, I got v f.63.

But now, they have made a new update of BIOS that is v f.65 I downloaded the file (the insydeFlash BIOS update) and when I run it and press START, my system freeze suddenly and EXTREMELY increase fan noise, it's like my CPU usage is 300% then in a few moments, the system shuts down and I could not be able to turn on the computer again , So I had to unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery then return everything back to be able to turn it on.

So can anyone help me with this problem.

    OS: 8 64-bit Windows

RAM: 8 GB (Original was 4 GB... And added another 4 GB)

    CPU: Intel (r) Core i5 CPU M480

GPU: Radeon HD 6470 M with Intel HD 3400 grapchics

    - And thank you

    Kind regards
    Pedro Marthon

    Hello PedroMarthon.

Are you currently overclocking the graphics card?

In order to solve this problem, I think you should uninstall third-party drivers and use the official drivers for Windows 7 and the workaround posted by my peers.  The reason I suggest, is that the use of third-party drivers could cause strange problems and it will be easier to solve the problem.

What I would say is remove the third-party drivers and then using the method posted in my response above.  Once the process is complete, I would try and then update the BIOS again.  If successful, you can remove Windows 7 drivers and again use your third-party drivers.  However, I'm not against the use of third-party drivers.

I appreciated the way in which you have been given to work with me, so I went to come your messages of congratulations.  If you think that I was helpful please click the White Star under my name to give my messages of congratulations.  I would really appreciate it!

I will keep an eye out for your next answer.  I wish you a nice day!

    Hello

Try disabling the startup of Windows 10 hybrid - you can do the following.

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close windows open and stop the laptop by right clicking on the icon in Start Menu, select (Admin) command prompt and click 'Yes' to the uac prompt.

Type (or copy and paste) the following command (including spaces) and click Enter.

    Shutdown /s /t 0

Start the laptop and let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking if it is now shut down properly in the Start Menu.

If this has fixed the problem, it may be useful by turning the quick start back on - sometimes simply remove and re-create the file will solve the problem.

    Hey1950, welcome to the forum.

Yes, you can use a USB port.  Here is a USB video adapter that should do what you need.  These adapters are designed for USB 2.0. but they make USB 3.0, also.  You can speak with a representative at StarTech to answer your questions about them.

    Hello.

I'm looking to upgrade my laptop WiFi card for best performance and to use the 5 GHz network in my apartment.  I read a bit online and it seems that some HP laptop BIOS have a white list of cards I can use only. Is it possible for me to check if my system has this?

Currently, I have an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 card I want to replace with an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately, your laptop has always the white list. There is no 802.11ac adapter, you can use. You must use one of the cards listed in the manual wireless and there have been a number of HP parts:

I reinstalled the battery and plugged to the computer. Of course it won't start. Does not start even to start.

Is there a recovery process, that we can use to get back on this computer? Perhaps a BIOS file, we can put it on a drive Flash or something?

HP says they no longer support this machine.

    Help!

    JakeKay, welcome to the forum.
