  Problem is that I need to move to a new computer, windows 10 machine. It installed very well of my CD, the serial number entered correctly, and the product works great.

  Quite correct - the activation server was off a few years ago. There is a solution, but you must uninstall your version and download a version that does not need activation - there are details about it in the FAQ here:
  Audition 3 and the activation service

  It is important to read the thread through to the end, especially if you have a version already installed - you may need to make a couple of extra things as well. And note that you must use the new download with serial number provided with it or it won't work.

  At the launch of any CS3 application I get the temporary activation error message has expired. I've owned this version of CS 3 since 2007. After you click to reactivate and selected by phone, I get a page that shows my serial number, activation number and the activation type: repair.
