  I have a Toshiba M400 and I was wondering how do I reset the bios password. I disabled the finger print scanner recently because I decided that I no longer need, but he always asks for a bios password which I forgot. I used just swipe my finger and it let me boot up and all that gravey.

I installed Windows XP and all the drivers in the correct order (I've omitted some of the software I don't need) and everyting works fine (in fact, I am posting this from the tablet itself) except for the sound driver.   I have a Portege M100 - and the CD-ROM drive does not work.

  Whenever I put a disc in I can just hear the motor turn the disc, but the computer is not picking up the drive. Device Manager picks up flawless.

• Upgrade memory for Portege M400

  I recently tried to upgrade my laptop Portege M400 the original 512 MB of ram to 2 GB (which seems to be possible according to the user manual.

  I tried to install the memory standard DDR2-533 (I install 2 x 1 GB).   I think the latest BIOS for your M40 with ATI Radeon graphics card, it's the 1.70 version that is available in Windows and traditional format.

  There is a version 2.00, but it's only for the M40 with Intel graphics card.
