  have you tried to boot from the DVD? Of course, you can see the files on the DVD, but perhaps you need to change the boot order so it starts on the DVD instead. To do this, restart the computer, and then press F2 when you see the Toshiba logo on the screen during startup (F2 or which key it tells you to press to enter setup).

  Move to the boot order in the BIOS setup and exchange the CD/DVD with the HARD drive so that the CD/DVD is top of the list. Go into the menu of the BIOS Exit Saving Changes and the computer will reboot.   I am interested to buy Wacom, Fuji or any other pen, including the original but I still have a few problems:

  1. I can't buy anything more expensive than $75

  I put t have much experience with the tablet PC, but up to what you expect you should try installing WXP Professional and all offered drivers Toshiba, tools and utilities.

  Hi, I want to restore my M200 using the provided restore DVD. I have a Toshiba PA345U-1DV2 external USB DVD came with a CD that contains drivers for DOS. The Readme in the back driver's record is in Japanese! I created a boot SD card using the util of Toshiba and added the back drivers in the config.sys file.

  No matter what I try, I can't get the DVD USB boot DOS and so read the restore DVD. I admit that it is driving me crazy. I tried all the options I can find on the net and still no luck. Can anyone help?

  Sorry but I don't understand the problem you have.

  On the Toshiba support page you can find all the things you need for Vista on Portege M200. Very important is to install the package of added value to the beginning because all important Toshiba designed stuff is there, of course including TOSHIBA components common driver.

  In my opinion there is no need of any updates but the order of good facilities. Have you maybe update the BIOS before installing Vista?

  You should definetely create a set of recovery media - this is your copy of the operating system.  An example of when you might need, it would be if you had to replace the hard drive - details on the creation of this can be found on the next document in HP.

  About McAfee, you must uninstall that first before trying to install Norton - you can do this in the usual way by opening the Control Panel, open programs and features, right click at the entrance of McAfee and select uninstall.  When the process is complete, restart the computer before installing Norton.

  As you know Vista isn't officially lounched and I guess on site of manufacturers of portable driver is still not available.

  If you can identify what WLAN card is inside your support page for laptop check manufacturer. Usually, they offer such things as soon as a manufacturer of PC or laptop.

  You can do something else:
  If you have an original windows xp cd lying around somewhere, then install it and download the drivers from internet.

  It's a really elegant solution without having to purchase a new recovery cd. Just ask a friend to help you with that ;) or whatever and you won´t need to buy a new cover on cd...
