Need Chrome CRX SimplePass Extension

Hello

I reinstalled Windows 8 on my ENVY 17-j130ea and installed SimplePass from the support page, it has installed SimplePass but does not seem to include the Chrome extension.

So although it works fine in Internet Explorer, it will not work in Chrome

Well, I went the long way. I got an old hdd and stuck it in the laptop recovery disks to restore the system on the hard drive and copied the crx from there.

    I apologize that your SimplePass extension no longer works with Chrome. I'll start with a few steps, first of all, as well as a theory that I have that might help:

    1. uninstall your current version of HP SimplePass and install it (even if it is the same): HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software Version 6.0.100.276

    2. If it does not help: (it is more of a workaround than anything)

    (a) go to settings in Chrome. Search for the "Extensions" menu and click on "get more extensions".

    (b) in the Chrome Web Store, search for "SimplePass" and it should appear under the Extensions. Click on '+ free' to install it, then try to use it.

    3. you can try to reset the Chrome to default settings: reset the browser settings

    4 system restore, just because the time travel can be useful: System Restore

    5. try the steps in an Incognito window (Yes, I just suggested that). Incognito mode disables all extensions by default (at least it's supposed to). You can re-enable any extensions, including ones site connection.

    6. download and install an older version of Chrome, then try to get SimplePass and connection extensions Web site works: Old Version of Google Chrome

    If none of this helps, then I'll propose some complex measures. This requires working in Developer Mode.

    1 switch in Developer Mode via the Extensions menu.

    2. Note the ID of the extension (for example, jilhkcaiaaepfiajaebpkmhonmfgabhf)

    3. go in C: / / Users / / AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User/Data/Default/Extensions- name of the user account -/- extension ID -1.8 (or another number, you have a different number)

    4 copy the path of the file.

    5. go back to the Menu Extension of Chrome and click «Load extension unpacked...» ». Paste or search the above path and press ENTER.

    6. the extension should now be re-created and active (or activate). You may have to restart the computer.

    Please respond with your results of this diagnosis. I want to crack this case for you

    You can try to create PDFS with Firefox or Internet Explorer to work around the problem.

  • Need to unassociate Editor extension .bat pgm

    In Windows 7 64 bit, I used the control panel to associate my editor (PSpad) batch (.bat) files.  Now, I can not run a windows batch file (I use the cmd line do) because it opens the file in the editor.  I need to know how to do two things.

    1. remove the extension .bat pspad.exe associations.  I can't erase the association via the Control Panel, and my peeking and poking into regedit do not give me a good idea what to do.

    2. when driving, adds pspad.exe as an option to open with when right clicking a .bat file.  It is the original reason why I associate it in the first place, because I couldn't choose my editing software to edit with.

    Oh, also, anyone know if there is something that will mimic an old powertoy that you would open a command via right window?

    Thank you.  I downloaded and looked in the file BAT.reg, then compared to my registry.  Removal of the "user's choice" under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.bat, fixed it for me.

  • Need to change the extension to .jpg .jpeg file

    My scanner will save an image in jpeg format, but my application requires the extension is .jpg .jpeg instead.  In Windows XP, I could easily change that, but I do not see the extension to rename it in Windows 7.

    Start > computer > organize > folder options and research > view > uncheck - Hide extensions of known file types

    I acidentally chose to open a dll using Microsoft Word, and of course the box has been checked to always use the selected program to open this type of file.  If all the DLLs in my computer are slamming me with errors.  I went to change the extension of the application and try to find something that was going to change this back, but nothing helps...   • I have a lot of cnc files I need to change the extension from. PGM to. How is this work if I want to change all of a TXT file

    I am copying my files on my book reader cnc program. The problem is that the reader does not recognize the extension. PGM that I use on my cnc machines. I would change all the extensions at once to. TXT as there are that many of them. I can change one at a time, but it would take a very long time. Is it possible to do this?

    You don't have to remove your HP SimplePass program.

  • How can I activate SimplePass now that Google has blocked the Chrome Extensions

    Recently, Chrome has been updated to block all the extensions that are not bought from their online store. My PC (a Pavilion dv6) came with HP SimplePass installed. I use it for all my online password management, but now it is blocked by the Chrome (my preferred browser).

    There are, apparently, a SimplePass extension available on the site of the shop online chrome, but he says that it will work only with SimplePass version 8. I have version6. The current owner of the SimplePass - Softexinc.com - indicates anything about getting the software updates.

    The combination of player SimplePass/ingerprint was part of the reason why I bought this particular PC in the first place. I'll be very disappointed if I never use it again. Please help me to re - activate this feature.

    OK, it's even worse. I found a download for SimplePass version 8. But there is no upgrade path. Features of import/export of the two versions are incompatible, there is no way to migrate all data from my login/password from the old to the new version. Please, HP, address any of these problems:

    -create a SimplePass upgrade to convert data from old formats

    -develop a Chrome extension that works with SimplePass v6 AND meets the requirements of Google to allow it to run

    -improve SimplePass 8 to be compatible with the (older) versions of SimplePass

    I'll address the Chrome and extension of fingerprint reading question. I've solved the exact problem for a single user by following the steps in this thread: Chrome - policy disabled Simplepass extension

    Other suggestions include the use of SimplePass on Internet Explorer and FireFox. Although, if you want to try to get Chrome working again, you can try the steps that I have proposed.

    Here are the steps from the thread:

  • HP SimplePass stopped working after update Google Chrome 42

    I have HP SimplePass installed 6.0.100.276 and site Web Logon 6.0.100 active in Chrome, but since the update to the Chrome Version 42.0.2311.90 the extension of the logon Web site does not ask me finger drag. The extension icon appears next to the address bar, but it does not work. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thank you.

    This is because Google has disabled the default NPAPI in Chrome 42. You can get SimplePass works again by the reactivation of the NPAPI - go to chrome://flags (type in the URL bar), scroll to the entry 'Activate NPAPI' and click the 'enable '. Restart of the Chrome and SimplePass invites you once again.

    Bad news is that Google will permanently remove for NPAPI in September so unless SimplePass is updated to use native PPAPI of chromium (which is probably unlikely since the formidable support for SimplePass Authentec is killed) he dies correctly.

  • Webcam not displayed in a Google Chrome Extension with pepper Flash

    Hello Adobe,

    There is a problem with the Flash version of pepper in Chrome to access the webcam.  When embedding a Flash application that accesses the webcam inside a Chrome Extension and click on 'Allow' (to allow access to the webcam), the expected behavior is to see the webcam image.  Instead, we see only a black screen - no picture - and no real mistake that the camera is inaccessible.

    If we turn off Flash pepper and use lightning main plugin Chrome, then the Extension works perfectly (we see the image of the webcam).

    Note that if we try to load the same HTML code directly as a web page with Flash of pepper, this works also.  So this leads to the conclusion that there is a problem with the following combination: pepper Flash + Extension Chrome + webcam.

    It is a major set back to set useful Chrome extensions that use the webcam.  Can what comments you do on this issue.

    Nope.  My initial recommendation to open a chrome bug stands.  I am hopeful that another fix webcam in Chrome could solve this problem, but looks like it's specific for use in a chrome extension.  My hypothesis is that the nature of process in the PPAPI model sandboxing prevents us to access the camera in the case.

    This isn't a use case that test us or support, is therefore no guarantee terms of long term stability or prioritization of patches it must break in the future.  I just want to be clear that it is staggering if you create a business on top of it.  That said, we do not like to see new uses for Flash and try to help if possible.  The rate and the pace of the browsers change makes it difficult to predict what will and will not work long term in this kind of borderline cases.

    In the PPAPI world, there not a lot of leeway "to work things.  The beauty of the PPAPI, is that it provides points of own congestion by which Google can restrict plugin behavior.  Greatly enhances the security of the end user, it is intrinsically more restrictive with regard to our ability to generate clever hacks.  (IMO, it's a good thing in the long run.)

    Google engineers would really need to throw an eye to understand this behavior is not currently allowed and how / if they are interested to provide a manufacturing process, it works safely.

    HP SimplePass extension for Firefox has been disabled version 45 sur-quartiers, as it is not signed. There was already a way to allow these signed and unverified plugins until the 45 version, but now they have totally disabled these plugins. Can release you an updated version of the extension to make it usable in Firefox?

    Try to update to the last series 8 HP SimplePass:

    sp76923 HP SimplePass V8.01.62A 32/64 bit W7 - W10

    It works while Firefox can be stubborn; you will need to remove your current installation (in Firefox) and start over.  Make sure that you export your Favorites before you remove Firefox!

    If all else fails, try / consider:

    • SimplePass update >
    • Restart the computer and log on >
    • Export your FF bookmarks >
    • Download a new copy of Firefox - install yet >
    • Remove Firefox (uninstall programs and features) >
    • Restart the computer and log on >
    • Install the new downloaded version of Firefox >
    • A restart more and connect

  • Simple pass works only with Google Chrome.

    One day Pass Simple just decided to stop working. I have stopeed receipt of notification to slide my finger.

    It does that with Internet Explorer.I tried to install Mozilla Firefox, it did not work. I have re-installed Chrome several times, tried different versions too, but nothing.

    I uninstalled SimplePass and installed a new software called TrueSite.It has worked with Firefox but not with Chrome.I have re-installed SimplePass several times, but he refuses to work with chrome.

    Extension of chrome P.S., the "Logon Web Site" is installed and enabled in Chrome.
