  Autour Googling I see that several pilot sites offer Win98, NT, Win2k, XP drivers for this very old scanner. Be careful when you use pilot sites and do not click on ads or links that say to search for drivers. It is unlikely that this very old scanner will work with Win7.   HI: I just bought a new computer and was dismayed to find that HP does not provide drivers for my 5400c Scanjet. I read another post referring to a member of this forum on the site of VueScan for 3 third-party drivers, but I don't see my scanner model specific it. I see 5300C and 5370c listed.  Does anyone know if the driver or the other of these would work for the 5400 c?

  And someone has other ideas for this problem? This seems to be a large problem of customer service that HP should be confronted. I really love my scanner and hate having to shell out $ grave on top of the $ I spent on the computer itself.

  Windows 7 was not able to find the driver for this scanner.

  I downloaded the following driver from the HP Web site (which is for XP and windows 2000)

  After the installation of this driver, I reconnected my scanner to the computer. This time, windows 7 are driver and installed.

  I installed and then started HP Scan Pro 3.1 by using "Run as Administrator". Run normal gave me error but this way it worked perfectly for me.  I use 32 bit Windows 7.

  Hope that it wroks for you as well.

  If there is no Vista 32 or 64 bit drivers on Epson site, there will be none. Unless Epson make some. You will need to buy another printer that supports Win7

  You have listed all the drivers for Windows XP Home edition, of course in the order of good facility?
  If you install all the stuff, you shouldn't have any unknown devices listed in Device Manager.

  Yesterday, I tried to connect my keyboard to my mini HP numbers, but it did not work.  I am sure that the problem is the driver, as I was able to connect to my HP laptop with Vista, without any problem.

  The keyboard is a keyboard of ten Note X TK01 USBM.  In the back are the words "Arvel TK01 = USBM Ten keyboard, S? N 990500424, made in China.

  Dear Brigitte, it was one of those anomalies that solve themselves.  After trying several times, I found the pad of numbers worked so I replugged it it after that I received the error message.  Second time around, it works fine.  JC
