Need help from blackBerry Smartphones: send files via Bluetooth for my Curve 8900

Hi all

Earlier this week, I made the change to a BB and overall I am very happy with it, but there is a thing that is annoying on the phone and despite my efforts and a lot of tinkering, I was not able to solve this problem, I'm looking for help.

I try to send files to other Bluetooth devices to my BB 8900 and I can't do work of t. strangely, I can send my BB files to other Bluetooth devices with no problems but I can't send things on my device.

I lived the articles (e.g. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04132&slic... )

but in vain.

In a nut shell, I enabled bluetooth on my camera, I made detectable and combined with other devices that I am trying to transfer files from, I went into options of the terminal for these devices and their confidence, and then I tried to send files.

If I send from another phone (LG viewty) or Nokia E61i, I get an error message indicating that "send failed".

If I send a computer that was paired, I select the file I want to send > right click > sent to > Bluetooth > other and select my BB8900 in the list of paired devices. At this point, the computer appears to try to send the file, but I am presented with an error message indicating "file transfer Service is not found on device BB8900."

Why is this? How do I am able to send files to my BB 8900 but not sent to it, and what can I do to solve this problem?

This problem is causing me a lot of grief that I have given on other phones, I need to transfer to my new BB, unfortunately I do not have a USB cable to one of the phones, so Bluetooth is the best alternative.

Please can someone help!

Thanks in advance,

/Chuck

OK, so after re-reading of this last KB article, I realized that I was a complete dunce!

My companion with a new curve took my PIN and me by post, and all I get is the envelope in the upper left corner with a growing number, that has got to be the PIN messages, as my email is all set up and working properly (and the number goes down when I delete emails). There must be a together simple procedure, but for the life of me I can't find!

ethosb is correct, and if you still have problems that maybe it's because you've hidden your main message folder.  In the home screen, press the BB Menu key and select this option to display everything.  You should then be able to find the folder with the message of PIN code for your friend.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    See this KB:

    • KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones

Replace the instructions appropriate for your other device instead of the transmitter unit KB section in the KB. Since you are on BB OS 6, the stage of "Receive using BT" is irrelevant.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Need help from blackBerry Smartphones to transfer Contacts from Blackberry 8800 for Blackberry Storm 9530

I tried to use the Desktop Manager software supplied and had two phones connected via USB to my PC.

I made sure to uncheck the transfer of everything except DATA, which was the only solution. I had no way to go just in a finer selection, like the ability to select only Contacts.

The Desktop Manager has replaced during ALL my DATA on the storm, including the default mail server, etc..

I was still able to make calls, but could not receive email or messages from BB because it crushed everything I had

Can someone direct me as to how to properly use the Desktop Manager so I can just transfer my Contacts.

    Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Did you use the switch device Wizard in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager?

Do... to make a complete backup of the 8800 using Desktop Manager > backup. Make a note of where on your PC that the backup is saved as well as the name.

Now connect the new storm device to the USB port, open Desktop Manager again. Open the backup/restore > advanced.

Find the backup file in the left pane (use file > open if it does not appear immediately). Located in the database of the address book on the left side and click on the right arrow in the middle to move data to the new device. Follow the prompts and complete the process.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones send/receive using bluetooth option gone

I got my BB Curve 8520 for a while and a Pearl before this one, so I know how to send and receive data via bluetooth. Everything was good and no problem send and receive data via bluetooth. However, on the fly (or what it seems) the menu options "send via bluetooth" and 'receive via bluetooth' is no longer there. It doesn't matter if the bluetooth is turned on or off.  Anyone idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks for your help. As it happens, I just found the solution myself. For some reason, under the 'Bluetooth series' and 'options' Bluetooth paired devices, the 'data transfer' parameter was not checked more. I don't know how it happened, but when I checked it again, everything was beautiful!

Thanks again for looking this good!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can receive/send files via bluetooth...

    Hi all.

I can not send/receive files to & from any other phone (Bold 9700 running OS 5.1.0.146 with Organge UK) as well as my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6000 running 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium) through bluetooth.

However in all occasions my pairs of BB well matched with all phones & laptop. But it seems that Windows cannot find the drivers for the bluetooth BB and as such, Windows has marked the missing drivers for "Bluetooth device".

I made sure my BB bluetooth is turned on, is detectable and has a unique name.

Any help would be really appreciated!

    Best regards

    Ashraf

    Hey all.

Found a solution to the problem in the forums HERE. Although his curve I know it applies to all BB. Related KB's HERE.

Got, it works on my laptop as well. Follow-up what xbabe82517 done:

"In the end, I had to remove the pairing on the laptop and my phone. But then instead of creating a new connection, I selected a file in my computer and clicked on "send to Bluetooth device". There is of course no paired devices, so I clicked on the option to search for a new device. It finds my phone and I then followed the steps - which were exactly the same steps as matching them - but he then worked and the file sent to my phone! "

Hope this helps someone else suffers from the same problem.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, send pictures via text

I tried to find a way to send pictures through text on my new blackberry curve, & I can't understand it. I don't know if this is not available, or I can't find it.

    any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

If you talk to send a picture to another phone, you can send MMS messages.  SMS (text) messages do not support attachments and actually do only support sending a message one bit 1 120.

You must have MMS support from your provider to use.  If you do not see an option to compose or send MMS messages, you probably need to order the service, how you would get the book of service [MMS].

  • BlackBerry Smartphones send photo via Send as default account not the use of e-mail

When you send a photo by e-mail, sending e-mail account will be the first in alphabetical order account on Blackberry.

Rogers "BOLD" w/firmware v4.6.162 tested and reported on Verizon curve.

The changed Options-> Advanced Options-> default Services for the desired accounts and still happening.

    Example:

Media-> photos-> photo files-> select an image and press the Menu, select "send as E-mail".

He will choose the one sent by email as the first in alphabetical order account registered on the BlackBerry not the default account selected in Options in advance.

Is it far away by default to the right account overdue?

  • NEED HELP PLEASE blackBerry smartphones

I am on a trip to Spain for a month and just started two days ago. I bought the 8830 World phone. I was advised, through Verizon Wireless, that it is advisable to install a security password, just in case thephone was stolen. It has been implemented with a service representative verizon customer. I used it end for the last day and a half and then recently, when I entered the password is a password that is numbered, it began to show the corresponding letters and not the normal askurisks (sp) to hind the password. I thought I could have pressed something because it's my first smartphone. He then asked my enter blackberry to continue I did and now when I enter the numberic password it still appears as letters. I realized that you can lock the keys in digital that I made and entered the digital password only to say that the password is incorrect. I put the safety in the 6 trys and I'm already on my 5th attempt. I need to get this job because I will be going for 28 days. I also understand that if the PDA does not have the correct password it will wipe away the SIM that has all my documents and e-mails and contacts that I need to travel. Please advise on what to do here.

    Howard

    Howard,

It will not erase the SIM card, it will wipe away the memory of all contacts, addresses, calendar, preferences, etc.  If your device still works, and you will get a service, just you will lose information stored in memory.

Probably, what is common, when you enter the initial password, you thought that you have entered the numbers and entered instead of alpha characters.

Or you have entered the first in a number and the other as alpha... and you didn't because it is obscured by the asterisk.

You should try a different combo of characters, and I hope you get it right the next test.

  • SOME URGENT NEED HELP PLEASE blackBerry smartphones

    HEY!

How to block a number or a number private call me again?

I can delete all the call connect together, not one by one?

    Thank you!

Call blocking is a feature offered by your operator, usually at a cost. Contact them for more information.
To remove all entries from the call at a time, press the green phone button to open your app phone. Then, click the phone tab, which shows the phone with two arrows. If you have a phone with a physical keyboard, press and hold the "A" button you press to make capital and scroll through the numbers until they turn blue. Then, press the menu key and select Remove. If your phone has a touch screen, I don't know the method.

    I hope that helps you.

  • Need help with blackBerry Smartphones

Hi guys, I changed to an old e-mail address and want to spend my bbid return account to this email address. The problem is I already have an account under the old e-mail address if I want to close the account and changed the enamel on my most recent account to the former. It doesn't let me change it for the time that the account is still valid. The problem is that I forgot the password and secret answer to the question. I have access to the email address. How can I get access to my old account without the password or an answer to the question

It must be remembered the BlackBerryID password or secret answer to the question. Without either, you're stuck.
    Your choice is:
-Use a different e-mail account to create a new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to all apps purchased using the 'forgotten' first BlackBerryID, or)
-Find the initial email you have been sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID and there are a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on this, delete the account and then you can use that same e-mail to create a new account.
    Good luck.
