Need help to import the DVD that I made using Windows Movie Maker
I made a slide show DVD in my computer XP using WMM. I thought that I taped on the C drive first, but I can't access either one to make changes. I can view the DVD using Windows Media Player, but I want to change it
For a re-release in Movie Maker, you need the. MSWMM
project folder. Do a search for your folder my videos and
see if you can find it... Maybe you saved before you
created the DVD.

Could not import the music downloaded from iTunes for Windows Movie Maker. He plays in Windows Live Movie Maker and plays on my computer. Cannot find the codec. Tried the solution to this same question and in help.
HelloSome audio and video file formats are not supported in Windows Movie Maker and cannot be imported. However, if you have a video or audio file that is not taken care of, you can use a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker, and then import the video file or an audio resulting in Windows Movie Maker. Some files also require you to install a codec before you can use the files in Windows Movie Maker.Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Problem with the sync audio to video when you use Windows Movie Maker version 6.0
I have a HP Slimline Pavillion S.3220.uk PC, using Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. I have problems with the audio video synchronization when using Windows Movie Maker, version 6.0, I 'get' raw AVCHD files to .wmv using voltaic HD. I've noticed that the audio and video are out of sync, ONLY after the first thumbnail. No indirect problem with videos, but when people talk to the camera, in case of DISASTER, as he is out of sync. I tried to reduce the resolution of 720 p and 540 p, and no solution to the problem. Any thoughts on the matter please?
Hi Fabian119,
Today, there are hundreds of audio and video codecs in use. Some were created by Microsoft, but the vast majority of codecs have been created by other companies, organizations or individuals. By default, the Windows operating system and the player includes a number of the most popular codecs, such as MP3, Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video.
There might be times, however, when you want to read the content that is compressed with a codec that does not include Windows or the default player (for example, a file compressed with the DivX video codec or the Ogg Vorbis audio codec). Because the player is extensible, in many cases you can download the necessary codec on the web for free or for a fee.
You can visit the following links for more information on codecs:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/codecs-frequently-asked-questions
You can also view the following link to download the audio file conversion programs and check if you can convert AVCHD to Mpeg.

Using Windows Movie Maker on the error message XP__ not indexed _ bad quality
I use Windows Movie Maker XP (version 2.1?). I've converted and imported a lot of videos. I have a group of short videos recorded the same day. I (with free STROKE) converted to AVI and they play with no audio and several play accelerated. I've then diverted to ASF and some of them imported correctly. Most of them gave me an error message that they were not indexed. I downloaded several things to remedy this from online forums: I uninstalled K-Lite pack codec, Expression Encoder 4, WinDVR AVI, DivFix, lame and a number of things. That's a family movie, I spent a lot of time on it. If anyone can help with my old hardware and software configuration at this point I'd appreciate it. The original film seems to be of much better quality than what I am able to import. Thank you!
The most reliable video format for Movie Maker is. WMV.
No guarantee... but the following freeware converter
may be worth a try:(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)Sothink Free Video Converter
http://www.Sothinkmedia.com/video-converter/
(Windows XP / Vista / 7)You will need to unzip the file... or you could just drag
the Setup.exe from the file out of the folder and drop it on your
desktop and install from there.Once installed... Open Sothink and go to... Add the files button...
Find and select the clips you want to convert.Next... in the encoding settings... Choose... Video credits.
WMV - Windows Media Video (*.wmv).Choose an output folder and on the left, click on the button convert.
You can experiment with other settings later but
This should help you get started.Good luck...

All using windows movie maker, I added audio, but I can't hear the music while playing the video... Why is this?
Hello
1. What is the format of the video file that you use in Movie Maker?
2. do you receive error messages when you try to play the video?
Some audio and video file formats are not supported in Windows Movie Maker and cannot be imported. However, if you have a video or audio file that is not taken care of, you can use a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker, and then import the video file or an audio resulting in Windows Movie Maker.
You can use your favorite search engine and download third-party video editing software to convert the file.
Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

Hi Bauer327,
iTunes music is in AAC format, which is not compatible with Windows media player. You may have to convert the format AAC to MP3 and then try to add it to windows media player.
ITunes music sometimes has DRM protection. You will need to remove the protection license, and then try with windows media player.

encoding dvd hangs during burning in windows movie maker
I got my film in preview and clicked "burn" - the dvd encoding process starts, then stops at 1.1%. No error message is given; hold the right encoding.
I downloaded the windows essentials pack 2.3d media codec that has solved a problem I had upload my video in movie maker.
I tried to disable the video filters under Tools, but it had no effect on the dvd, encoding of stall.
Ideas?
Hi Cindy luster,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Community Forums.
How are you trying to publish the movie?
What is the format of the file you want to burn?
You try to burn all protected digital content?
Are you able to burn DVDs using the default windows DVD burner? This could happen if the format of the files you used in movie maker could be the cause of this problem. If you try to publish the film directly on the DVD, then I suggest you try to publish to the computer and then try to burn the DVD.
You can also use create DVD to burn your movie maker projects to check how it works there. To learn more about burning using DVD maker click the link below
