• Problem with the Internet connection using IE7 and Windows Vista

  Hi all

  I don't know if I'm in the right forum, but I need someone, help please...

  I just bought a new XPS420 with Windows Vista Home Premium and IE7 already installed.  The 2-3 days, internet worked very well.  Now, whenever I open IE7, I get a message on the connection not found or something like that.  I did some research and some forums suggest to reset IE7 using Tools/Internet Options / Advanced.  It worked... but only temporarily.   After that I turned off my computer and turned back on later in the day, open to the top of IE7, it does not work yet.  If I turn off the modem, it does not.  If I do a reset, as shown above, it would work again.

  I finally called AT & T Tech support, but they could not diagnose the problem.  While we were on the phone and try to open and close IE7, and that is, I logged.  Then to test, I turned off the computer and turned it back on and of course, internet Explorer did not work.  The AT & T guy me open system information to check the properties of the network and all said that "this device works correctly.   He also suggested to disable my anti-virus program (I have preinstalled MacAfee), which I was very reluctant to do. So before you disable MacAfee, I tried IE and it worked, so I was happy.  I closed the browser and open it again and it worked; turned off the computer and turned it back and the browser did not work.  I already lost count how many times I had to do that!   When I click on diagnose the problem, I got a message on xxx.xxx.x.xx DNS. do not answer, as the server ping the remote host, but does not got a response.  On hearing this, the representative said that it must have something to do with Vista and that perhaps the OS has not been installed correctly and he suggested that I contact the place where I bought my computer and ask them to reinstall.

  He also asked me to install Firefox as an alternative.  When I did, it worked.  But IE7... at the time.  I could not afford to shut down my computer once again because I was already late to work, but I guess I'll find out later. But maybe I have to use Firefox if IE does not work.  I have not really tested who. Is the thing with Firefox, it is not compatible with our applications work as well as web pages, I am trying to access (I tried one before I left) a work t look the same and difficult to navigate. And it shows "protect on" on the lower right of the browser that performs the same way, he shows up on IE.

  Sorry for the long post, but I also need to evacuate.  The resolution could really be as simple as turn off the anti-virus?  But then, how to get us protected?

  Help, please!  I'm so desperate for a solution.  My mother also uses this computer to access its work files.

  Twice in the space of a few days our internet connection has been disabled. System Restore solve the problem - temporarily. It would be good to know exactly which file is causing the problem.

  I applied all the updates of Windows 7 on 5 computers and encountered no problems.  You use McAfee antivirus by chance?  There was an update for that because of the problems of Internet access for some.  Check with McAfee, if you use that.

  We used an Airport Extreme with AT & T Uverse to our network wireless successfully since 2010. Recently Uverse sent me a new modem, and our wireless service has taken a turn for the worse. The network has two different wireless Internet for our House. Please let know us how we can solve this problem. We use a Mac, mac laptop 2, iPad 2 & all Iphones 2 are up-to-date with the latest version of the software.

  The AT & T device is a modem/router that provides a signal of wireless network with a name something like ATTa1b3c3d, for example. Your AirPort Extreme also provides a wireless signal by using a wireless network name that you have assigned to the device.

  Thus, it would be normal for you to be able to 'see' the two wireless networks.

  If you don't want to not use the ATT Wireless, just ignore it... or... If you think that it is at the origin of the conflict with the wireless AirPort Extreme, it is possible to turn off wireless on ATT modem/router, so that you only 'sees' the AirPort Extreme network.

  AT & T support can help you in the task of turning off the wireless... or... If you have the number of brand and practical model of modem/router, AT & T, we can try to find an online configuration guide which could provide instructions for this task.

  If you encounter a different kind of problem, please provide details on the problem.

• need help to repair the (WD5000H1U-00) western digital external hard drive problem. ___

  its supposed to be plug n play and uses standard drivers of the operating system. I plugged the drive and the computer installed the software/drive, but when I clicked on my computer the drive is not in the list.

  I was on the site of WD, and they do not have a driver that I can download. I spent 3 days all over the net, MS and WD site, and I am now at my wits end. I tried MS auto fix and fix it myself and still no joy. I clicked on 'remove hardware safely' and have tried updated driver, deleting and reinstalling and I gave up now.
  I need the drivers for it... Help, please!

  Unfortunately the BIOS is screwed in place now. It s very bad situation now. To be honest it will be problematic now to do something and in such situations, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider.

  Recently, my uncle gave me his 17-40mm f4L lens and told me that there is an infection minor fungus in one or some of the elements on the inside. When I checked, there are actually 2 mushroom vein small infection and recently, I just noticed a grain of fungus at the rear of the head element as well.

  It is not yet possible, but Canon will give you and estimate everything first.  It will probably take completely apart. Fungus is bad news.

  Thanks for your quick response.  I tried the procedure suggested you, but to no avail.   I then started to grope in the different sources of information and stumbled on this after having plugged the computer in Airport Extreme and cycling the unit you have recommended:

  If you are using OS X, go to Apple System Preferences > print & scan remove the printer selected by pressing-, then press on + to add a printer, select the printer even to add it.

  Once I did that, the HP C5580 will appear as connected via usb to an Airport Extreme and it prints like a champ!
