  I have vista a window and my dvd rom drive has an error 10 code on it. He has demonstrated since the end of August and I'm not sure how to get rid or correct the problem. I was wondering if I did system restore to the day before where the error showed that would work? Although I don't know how to that date on the restoration of the system, I thought I'd ask. I have a hp pavilion dv9000 and I tried to delete the upperfilter thing and even used Microsoft solve this quiet a few times and nothing has worked, and since I downloaded Service Pack 2 a week ago he would keep trying to disappear and reappear in my device manager.   Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

• Need help with total replacement of hard drive and reinstall

  Hello everyone, first of all, I would like to thank you for all the help I get, I hope. I have a HP Envy 14 Beats edition laptop 1260se and I recently bought a new SSD that really made my laptop fast. The only problem I have is that I bought the HP recovery discs so I could get all the drivers and all restored but it does not at all. So I used a windows 7 Professional iso disc my friend had and installed windows (64-bit) and everything works perfectly, but miss me volume controls that appear on the screen. Usually when I press volume upwards or downwards using the keys on my keyboard it would show a bar in the middle of the screen telling me where is my volume. Now I just see the little volume icon in the taskbar that are just a little shy. Also I have more beats off button work. Is there a way I can download these small things to make my laptop almost the same as it was out of the box without all the bloatware? Any help would be appreciated and sorry in advance if it is confusing.

  The likely reason that the recovery disks did not work, it's your SSD has been a smaller capacity mobile mechanical HDD initially provided with.

  They do not normally work on any hard drive that is smaller that that of the PC came with.

  I noticed that this laptop is really slow, even after a fresh reboot. Now when I open the Task Manager it is about 9 processes running. When I click on the 'show processes from all users", there are 58 running.  BUT users in 'control panel' are mine ALONE.

  The part that I am focused on is between the time timeline 04:30 - ~ 06:00 dealing with duplication of group and the modification of existing elements to create an additional hidden button for the highlight of the Easter egg. My problem is that my three videos are static on the main menu and not text.

  So I do this wrong, but I have direct link to the PS to copy the group, but I need to add a text layer in the copied folder to make the button invisible. My highlight for the videos above is just a large rectangle of 16:9, but I want to be a form of specific profile, the Easter egg. So almost exactly as he did in the video, I imported a file PSD with the shape I wanted... He says CTRL + select for windows, but who doesn't. (Keep in mind that I'm not really a Photoshop user, been using Fireworks for ever).   OK nevermind. I thought about it somehow. I did hidden text touches an object dynamic and bound the two together in the area of layers. Both activating / deactivating the made button highlights and preview my menu showed that it works correctly. I just burn a final and it works very well. Sweet.

  This was the hardest thing ever. I've tried literally all the LAN and WAN wireless drivers under all 4 the x120e the driver options. • DVD/CD rom drive reads CDs but does not read the DVD.

  My Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop has a DVD/CD rom drive.  It loads all the CD I want and them automatically opens on the D drive.  When I put in a DVD movie it will not play.  I open my computer, and then look at the D drive, and it does not even recognize that there is a DVD inside but it shows a screen of a CD that I put in there.  This tells me that it works and it has a green light on the side which shows.  Also, when I insert the DVD it makes sounds as it tries to recognize, but then it stops and does not appear.  Can anyone help?  I really appreciate it.  I'm not very savvy computer.  I know that some in this topic because I am a teacher and try to catch up with things, but I'm certainly no computer technology.  Thank you very much!  Let me know if I need to give more info.  I think the reader is Sony CRX835EK but I'm not 100% sure on this one here.

  If your Player reads cd but not dvd which indicates that the material works very well. You need to change the registry inorder to solve this problem.

  1) click on the start menu
  2) click on 'run '.
  (3) type "regedit" and click ok
  4) go to the key of the string "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
  (5) delete "upper filters" and "lower in the right window.
  (6) right click on my computer in the start menu.
  7) click on properties
  8) go to the Hardware tab
  9) click on Device Manager
  (10) expand the dvd/cdrom drives
  (11) made a right click the dvd rom and click on uninstall
  (12) restart the computer

  After the reboot, windows should automatically install a ROM clean disc and read DVDs very well if you have the correctDVDdecoders

  I recently took my computer in to get fixed because it crashed.  When I came back, I found out later when I tried to use my DVD/CD rom drive that he had disappeared.  I have done research on the internet about it and found a lot of sites that talk about drivers update and deleting files in the registry to get back, but my problem is it disappeared completely.  Also, I got F, J, & K drives and they are gone also.  I mean gone... no linked files or anything like that.  So this made my DVD/CD rom useless player.  I call the guy who worked on my computer, but it is difficult to get your hands on.  My computer is a Dell 2009 Windows Vista desktop computer.  I can't even try to reinstall Vista as the hard drive does not work.  Can someone give me any ideas as what to do?  Is there anywhere I can download files to make it work again?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

   

   

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

  Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

  Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1^st in the boot order.

  Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

  When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

  Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

  Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
