  I'm really becoming disillusioned and anrgy. In the last 5 weeks or so I installed Windows 7 on at least 11 PCs,... and in all cases, bar 1, I am facing the same problem. I use the Start button, windows update to check for updates after a new installation, sometimes in a few seconds, I get the red error message, other times the normal practice of verification of updates begins. Invariably, nothing happens except the window Windows Update appears to 'disappear' or forget it works, so I start it again, wait forever and finally get the Red writes the error message. I tried the windows online and offline "Fixit and the right sequence is repeated continuously." Yesterday morning at 04:00 [if there are 36 hours] I completed a new installation, over the next 24 hours, I have to have rebooted and retried the windows update at least 4 times. I also tried a couple of different ' FixIt. This morning, becoming almost ready to... Yet once, I tried to use the updates. He did what he normally does... the scan, check... check... NOPE! nothing for you. So I tried the specific 'fixit' MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.7235772074748435.1.1.Run it tooks ages and ages to complete... but once it was over, no changes because no errors not found.   Tried for months now to get windows update to work properly. I still see a message pop up in my lower toolbar, that says: windows cannot verify the updates, with a red x. I'll try to update manually and it shows 0% all the time.   Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

   

   

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

  Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

  Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1^st in the boot order.

  Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

  When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

  Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

  Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

• 8007371c with windows update error code. Vista Home Premium 32-bit system.

  I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit system and I have problems with windows update since early April.

  The system attempts to update 2807986 KB, 2809289, 2808735, 2820917, 2813345, 890830 (eventually successful), 2817183, 2813170 and 2823324. These will not update after many trials and the system will display an error message saying that some changes could not be completed, returning from changes, will try again on start up, do not turn off.

  On reboot, it gives the message that the updates are not configured correctly, returning changes, do not turn off. I get the 8007371c error code in the popup window windows update but can't find specific information on this code. Help please!

  I have a laptop that I had to change the HARD drive due to a complete failure.  I had a Windows 7 key I know has been good and have never used, purchased as part of a package of pc 3.   Now the installation tells me that this is not a valid key.  I paid almost $150.00 for this set of 3 installs for Windows 7, about 5 years ago.

  The old HDD is dead, I tried to connect with a USB key and nothing.   The laptop was working fine with WIndows 10, then the portable HARD drive is simply dead.  I need help with a new key, or at least the one I have to work.  The new drive HARD won't have not all partitions or any attached former windows key.  I can't get past the check of Windows screen.
