• Need recommendation for laptop - for video editing

  I'm trying to looking for a new laptop and need recommendations based on how I use the laptop.  I produce videos and mainly use the following programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Encore DVD.  I also use other software such as AutoFX PGE7.0 of photo editing.

  I currently have a HP Pavilion which is about 5 years old.  This office has the following specifications:

  HP Pavilion PU131AV / a1050y, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP MCE, SP3 32-bit, Nvidia GeForce 6600

  I believe that with a new laptop, I was able to create my videos more efficiently.  If you have any input as to what I need in a laptop for my specific purpose, please let me know.

  For what you are doing you need all the horsepower you can gather. You have not specified a budget and with what you're trying to do, I don't think that it would be useful to think of anything less than a thousand dollars. You need at least 4 GB of memory and preferably 8. You need a 64 bit version of Windows 7. You need a quad core or i7 processor. Regarding the size of the screen, it's a matter of personal choice, but I don't see how you can get in with less than a 15-inch screen. In respect to the HP products you can consider the urge again, but the problem is the lack of an internal optical drive (CD/DVD type).

  HP is running a special offer on the dv6t Quad model with an i7 processor, $ 999 with a free upgrade to 4 GB of RAM and a concert full of video memory. While your P4 3.2 was the killer at a time where it was released, the dv6t Quad run rings around her, particularly in Photoshop. Make sure that you use a recent version of Photoshop with 64-bit and support multi-core. Also be sure to get the 7200 RPM hard drive, because it makes a big difference in video editing.

• HP ENVY laptop - 15-k201ne: need recommendation! M.2 SSD

  I need help in the choice that can right ssd 256Go m2 laptop

  as the maintenance and Service Guide shows that it can withstand 2280 (256 GB SATA (MLC) m2 / 256 GB SATA (TLC) m2)

  After much research, I am very confused because a lot of people here could not be mobile today recognize the new SSD m2

  I understand that the SSD is 2280, interface Sata III (not PCIe) and maximum 256 GB, but (TLC, MLC)? Some manufacturers did not even mention the type of flash!

  Pleas so Can someone recommend me a compatibel M.2 SSD or confirm if one of the following choices works well

  I hesitate to suggest this update because a long thread which is basically come to the conclusion that the port of m2 on some models of HP who came without a reader m2 has been disabled.

  The thing that seems to get lost in all this is that if you are forced to use a SATA-III m2, and at best is all your laptop is running, then you are just as well use a 2.5 inch SSD SATA-III. Reading and writing speeds will be so close it wil not made no difference. The only useful to have m2 corresponds to type IS PCI - e, as speed on those is in another Stadium. But we know you cannot use one of these. So save yourself some grief and just get a 1 TB 2.5 inches SSD SATA-III. If you must go forward, so if something will work the first one that you listed below, the Samsung 850 Evo would be my choice. And if you can use a m2 you are not capped at 256 concert is told by the way: it's just the biggest offer of HP. If it will work, size (capacity) will not be the factor limiting. They are readers of 2280, that's right.

  I have a photosmart C4435 HP AIO printer that was bought in the USA and good that now I use this product in India, as my cartridges are dried out, I want to replace the cartridges to work in India where I can not find the HP74 and HP75 cartridges to the Indian market, as the product codes for the cartridges vary from one country to another. Like when I contacted HP in India customer service, they asked test me page HP74 and HP75 to recommend a cartridge buy in India.

  I would contact the customer service and advise you need a regionalization reset. If you bought the printer in an area and moved to a new area, you must call customer service to ask a "regionalization Reset." Avoid any accusation to this effect; It is covered under the warranty of the cartridge. You will need to have access to your computer and printer then on line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once completed reset cartridges of region of origin no longer works. See the document on regionalisation. Without that it reset the cartridges purchased in India would not work in the printer.

• List option confusion... need recommendation

  Looking through the Docs, I have 4 different options for what I'm trying to do, but none of them pop right out of me as having an option of key value pairs.

  I have a list returned to me with 2 columns of my webservice of 1 point and the 5 elements, so when the user selects the search button, the request goes back to the web service and then the webservice spits back results, column 1 is supposed to be used as column 2 key is the value to display, but I don't want to not display the key However, the key is absolutely crucial for the rest of the process.

  I now need a 32-bit VM for test vMotion with and I was wondering could someone recommend something they use? Maybe a pre-constructed unit?

  Pre-built devices are easy and quick, but also sometimes use a virtual machine powered with no operating system on it as well. Gets not much faster than that.

• Need recommendation: A better card from PCI RAID to ESXi 3.5

  I'm trying to install VMWare ESXi 3.5 on an old Dell Poweredge 750 server, which has two available PCI slots.  I know that the integrated SATA does not work and I need to have 2 x 2 TB disks installed on it, but realize that there is a maximum size of 2 TB disk volumes, so I was going to make a RAID 1 configuration with a slightly smaller total capacity of 2 TB under the limit of ESXi.

  I tried with a map of 3Ware 8006, but although it recognizes my drives very well, ESXi doesn't like it (complains there is no disk to install to).  I then tried a SIL chipset cheap raid card that ESXi liked ok, but does not start at the start of.  I used the Adaptec PCI RAID cards before with great success, but I don't know if the old PCI cards to support drives of 2 TB on them.

  Does anyone have a recommendation for a PCI (not PCI-e) decent, inexpensive that will support ESXi 3.5 and SATA 2 x 2 TB disks?

  Adaptec 2610 is PCI - X, which can be adapted to your PCI slot, but you must see if you have the space for the unused portion of the card PCI (X) to clear the components of the motherboard. PCI will be limited to 1.5 GB, so your big SATA drives will be slow. Unless you have the battery backup cache writing that read/write performance will be poor.

  Oracle Streams comes with more than 7000 data dictionary views, and DBMS built-ins so my main concern is the complexity and moving parts. Flow also includes guard data items, for example to capture downstream. If I had to choose between streams
  and Data Guard, I'd go with Data Guard, as his most popular (view) and thus better supported.

  The last time I checked GoldenGate needed a license. If you need money. I also believe that the options for the host operating systems are less than the other two options.

  My understanding is that you have to learn a new language with a boatload of new keywords. That said, Yes, it could be an option. It has a forum here somewhere. But I don't use it either.

  I agree with the user above. You can use up to 4 GB of DDR2 RAM in your laptop, new DDR2 modules are not possible. I have good experiences with the manufacturing of Kingston.

  As far as I know Satellite U300 doesn t support two hard drives are not possible in Satellite U300. You can only exchange the current model with a bigger. ;)

• Need recommendation for adapter for X230t with accumulator

  Does anyone have experience with the accumulator to charge while it is attached to the x 230 tablet?  Think I remember reading somewhere that the 65w AC adapter that comes with the thinkpad is not enough to charge two batteries and power the system at the same time.  I wonder if the 90w power supply is sufficient or if I need to go all the way to the provision of powr 135w.

  Hi - I'm changing sizes of an ASM disk and I have the opportunity to change the number of disks at the same time. Original config was of 3 disks, but grew up in 5 to support growth.  Growth is now expected to be static.  I'm trying to find a recommendation for the amount of discs in an ASM disk group.  I have 1 or 100 discs with external redundnacy.  The back-end is a modern SAN and using different controllers and sets hard raid is not necessary.  All the disks that I create on the SAN will perform identically.  I should create 1, 2, 3 or some other number of discs?  Thank you

  You can have several groups of disk failure in a disk group or create groups of failure of multiple disks, but the DSO will use all the disks in a diskgroup in alternate way, regardless of your setting of redundancy of ASM. If you use external redundancy, ASM will be scratch always data on all current disks in a disk group.

  If you have a Dropbox folder (in your system folders - My Documents?), you can "export" any image in this folder. Plugins is not necessary.

• Need recommendation of Tablet for use with a Mac Mini and CS6

  I'm under CS6 on a Mac MIni with OSX 10.8.3.  I want to start to learn the entrance of graphic design on Photoshop and Illustrator, and everything I've read indicates the use of a Tablet is de rigueur.  Can anyone recommend a high shelf support of range that is compatible with the Mac Mini and CS6?  Apple's site only shows the Tablet Wacom Bamboo Splash but gives no clue if it works with Adobe tools.

  Wacom Bamboo or Intuos tablet will work. Intuos tablets are better but more expensive. I wouldn't consider any brand other than Wacom. There are much cheaper brands tablet out there, but Wacom is the best tablets.
