  Not all slim drives are compatible due to different master slave / parameters c - salt!

  Generally, your user manual must contain a list of compatible drives.

  I got a message when I turn on my satellite 1800-100.
  "bios (block3) is damaged (call your local Department of human)." "Place a maintenance disk in the drive and press to enter.
  I downloaded the bios and inserted in the drive. The laptop read the disk and successfully write the new bios, but when it restarted it have the same error message. So I need the MAINTENANCE DISKETTE.

  Unfortunately, it is not possible to download the software for your laptop. Toshiba put only available to drivers and utilities on their website for download. The operating system itself is available on the recovery CD you can get from any Toshiba authorized Service partner.

  If the original OS from Toshiba is still installed you can create the recovery disk using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator which is preinstalled on your computer.

  Have you already checked your user manual? You can find all important information about it in it. ;)

  Unfortunately there is no official website where you can download the contents of the CD recovery, however, you can get replacement CD of your nearest Toshiba authorized Service partner. You must give them the product code full of your laptop (on the label under the appliance) as well that they can provide the correct CD.

• Save my Satellite E105 - S1402 BIOS

  Hello everyone.

  I use a Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402, and I found that there is a BIOS update recommended for my laptop.
  I'm willing to do, but I want to be very careful of it. (They say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".)

  I've never done an update of the BIOS before so I surfed the web to learn more on this subject. I decided that I made it through the windows because it is riskier. I have downloaded the files and burned the image to a CD (so update by rebooting my laptop operating system to start).

  However d I have a back up of my BIOS before you start the procedure. And not just a backup somewhere on my drive hard but in a place where I can use it if something goes wrong (I think a bootable CD like the one I did for the updated BIOS version.)

  Although I searched on internet I found not instructions on how to do it. Anyone know where I can find instructions on how to do it?

  PS Being the rookie I am I can not know the basic things about the whole procedure, please point out them.

I think there pretty outdated now, but there has been no new versions for years and I think that this great computer, despite the old, should be more supported.   I use P20 over two years, without any update of the BIOS. If your device works well I recommend you to leave. Boot from the SD card is not possible and update the BIOS will not allow this.

• Satellite 1800-911: error #1 - C2502 CD/DVD drive IDE

  PC: satellite 1800-911 BIOS V.2.1.

  I try to fix the problem with my DVD/CD COMBO drive (all of a sudden do not read any kind of CD).
  I tried to update the firmware from 1313 to... I don't remember. I get now, before XP pro SP2 start, the "IDE #1 ERROR" message and the operating system do not recognize any DVD/CD.

  BIOS recognize, ligth blinks and you can use the eject button. When XP is from that of the ligth is disabled and the eject button do not work.

  Now, if I try to go back to firmware 1313 (from boot floppy BACK) I get an error TYPE ROM INCORRECT.
  Can I fix this?

  If the IDE 1 error message # appears it means that the BIOS does not recognize the device (CD/DVD drive) that is connected to the IDE 1 controller.

  I think that you used just a bad firmware and flashed settings preinstalled with the wrong firmware!
  Now the master\slave\c-salt settings have been changed and the BIOS cannot access to ODD.

  I don t know where did you get the firmware, but in my opinion this firmware is certainly false and not supported!

  I have a toshiba satellite 1800-921. The hard drive is broken and I managed to get my hands on one. My problem is. Is that I want to upgrade the memory on this subject but I can't know what kind of memory stick that I need.

  Satellite 1800 is old enough for laptop... I searched a bit using Google and it seems to PC100 SDRAM SODIMM for her, but you can also choose PC133 modules, they will also work with low speed PC100.
