  long in vain looking for the original BIOS for my satellite A210-1AO PSAELE-03Q00FRU (Vista32bit preinstalled).

  Unfortunately I've updated and laptop lost the ability to disable.
  VERY noisy DWD - ROM (TS-L632H) through the BIOS (but it worked without a doubt with the original BIOS)
  It is also impossible to turn it off through the Device Manager (tried several times).

  I looked for BIOS anywhere where I could (Yes, I tried to download & support from Toshiba for Europe, USA, Canada, China, Russia - no. satellite A210 PSAELE BIOS in lists, even for the A200 PSAELE).

  Written in support of the Russia of Toshiba - no result. the point is that I don't know bios original version for my model, so I tried BIOS version 1.1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.3 - no result.

  I have a question! Recently, I bought and installed the new windows 7 (x 86) on my toshiba Satellite A210-128. I installed all necessary drivers, except one, I can't find drivers for TouchPad here-> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/windows7_drivers.jsp.

  I found the generic Synaptics driver but I don't know that's what I was looking for (I wish that my touchpad is fully functional - scrolling, using shortcuts...).

  I had the same situation with my Satellite A300.
  Just use the touchpad Vista. It worked perfectly for me. I just installed Vista Synaptics touchpad driver.

  Satellite A210 - 16G (PSAELE) belongs to the European models because it s listed on the page of Toshiba Europe. This means that the Australian page BIOS update will not work and it s listed for the other models (PSAFGU/PSAFHU). If this update is not done for your laptop.

  On the European (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_bios.jsp) page, you can search for newer BIOS version:
  Laptop > Satellite > Satellite a series > Satellite A210 > PSAELE

  Check this box!

  Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Intel page, and then you could include to CD Win XP SATA driver using the free software called nLite.

  Just google for nLite for a little more in detail how to use it.

• Satellite A210-12U - no lights come on or anything like that

  I have a Satellite A210-12U who died on me. I wasn't doing anything special, just posting on a bulletin board, one just like this and the power died, almost as a power cut, without warning. It was plugged in at the time. And now it is completely dead, no light doesn't come on or anything like that. Power cord is fine, just like the battery because the two work very well on my L500-11N. I tried out the battery and the power cord, hold the power button for more than 30 seconds and the replacement, but he's still dead. Is there some sort of internal fuse?

  I had a similar problem last year and I did the following steps:

  -Disconnect the battery and the AC adapter
  -Wait at least an hour or over night for example
  -Reconnect the two (battery and AC/DC adapter)
  -Try to start the laptop

  If that doesn t work, this seems to be a malfunction of the equipment. Maybe the card mother, AC/DC adapter or something else
  You should ask your local ASP help ;)

• Satellite A210 - 12U Slot memory failed

  I have a Satellite A210-12U, currently had a BSOD, then finally PC would not boot at all, I managed to get it working again by removing one on the RAM bars, since I tried to install 2 sticks of RAM in various cobinations I thought that one of it was defective, it seems that both work very well , But when I put one of the in the top slot, the laptop does not start at all, not even the BIOs boot.

  I guess that means that the slot memory has failed, my question is, can it be replaced? As there is no big, if not is there the 4 GB memory sticks available as I still want to upgrad.

  Looks like the slot is defective, or it could just be dirty. You can clean the slots using electrical cleaner from an electronics store. Do not use water or other liquids as you can the motherboard and cause damage.

  I guess you could get a Service centre to resolder the connector memory, but it can be cheaper or easier to just buy another motherboard.

  I doubt that laptop can take Modules to 4 GB RAM, 2 x 2 GB may be your only option.

  But remember that 32-bit operating systems are limited to 3 GB, and you would need 64-bit Vista to take advantage of all of 4 GB.

  PS. use Memtest (bootable CD or FD) at www.memtest.org to test RAM.

  PSAFGE-> BIOS v2.0
  PSAEGE-> BIOS v2.3
  PSAELE-> no BIOS update

  Your laptop belongs to the series PSAELE and right now it seems that there are no compatible BIOS for this series.

  Unfortunately, you are not one with the issue in the case. To install Windows XP edition family on this laptop is not so easy if you need to find the drivers only. I really hope the pilots will soon be available. Using the installations instructions and all the drivers, you can set up Windows XP Home edition successfully.

  Satellite A210 is similar to A200 and I imagine that you can use the drivers provided by some A200 model with a hardware similar but please don't ask me any more on this subject. Check the specifications of your laptop with the A200 laptop series.

  You're certainly not a mannequin. It's AMD based notebooks aren't supported WXP. The same situation is with my Satellite P200D with AMD chipset.
