  • ProBook 470 1: HP Support Assistant is grayed out option ' Check for updates now ".

    My laptop is running HPSA worm 7.4.45.4. 'Check for updates now' tab updates from HP is greyed out. In addition, the HPSA informs me that "the last check for HP updates: never" even if the regular time for the update check has come and gone.

    The last update notification was received more than 12 months ago, while the laptop was under warranty. The warranty has expired and I was wondering if this could be the cause of my not being able to check updates 'Check now' or at a scheduled time. Tried to contact HP support, but unless you are under warranty or you have a service contract, it is not possible. Does anyone else have this problem?

    N ° it has nothing to do with the status of the guarantee. This will work even if the warranty has expired. The only thing that should be available is updated for your laptop.

    Uninstall the current HP Support Assistant verfsion located on your laptop.

    You can download the appropriate version of the OS for your laptop in the following web document.

  • In the Tools Menu there where the message "apply downloaded update now" appears "check for updates" should be.

    No matter how many times I "apply" it goes to the same message. The message is displayed only on a user account on this particular computer, other users show the option ' check for updates '. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times without success. Running Vista Home Premium 64-bit

    Run the program Firefox once as an administrator (right click: run as administrator).

    If this is not possible then you must remove the update to download.

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Software Update doesn't work does not correctly)

    On our t620s running ThinPro 5 (T6X50034), every time you start the user is presented with the window "Check for updates", despite having disabled me 'enable automatic update at startup of the system '. Until it is completed or clicked 'Skip' in the lower right, nothing else is responsible, so it is essentially unnecessarily interrupted startup every time. • Acrobat 8 Pro ' Check for Updates ' does not not (Windows 7, 64-bit)

    I have Acrobat 8 Pro installed on my Windows 7 (64 bit) system; specifically v8.1.3. When you try to use the feature of ' Check for Updates ' application, Adobe Updater displays the following message: "no Internet connection found.  Please check your Internet settings or firewall. »

    I do not encounter this error if you use the "Update" functionality with other applications such as Photoshop Adobe elements & Reader.  I have an internet connection.

    I installed on my laptop Vista Acrobat 8 Pro and the feature "Check for Updates" works as expected.

    All the words of wisdom on why I encounter this problem on my Windows 7 system and/or how to fix it?  Thanks in advance.

    Problem has been resolved (the solution in a post on the forum of the Adobe Web site):

    CONTROL PANEL > NETWORK CONNECTIONS >

    Windows "gave me" a "Wireless Network Connection 3" that has been identified as a "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter"

    I clicked it and chose to "disable."

    Once the 'virtual' card has been deactivated, my Adobe Acrobat Update Manager launch worked well.  I've seen this problem on Windows 7; never lived with my XP or Vista systems.

  • No "Check for updates" on Lightroom 4.3

    For some reason, I have no option ' Check for updates ' on the 'Help' of my version of Lightroom 4.3, drop downloaded from Apple's App Store last year. I did not find any similar question - the answer - no matter wherever I looked. I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.5.

    Looks like the drop down "Help":

    lightroom_no_update.png

    Does anyone else have this problem? I'm sure there is something I'm missing here, but I just cannot understand. Thank you very much.

    Given that it is a version of the App Store, updates would be issued through the App Store.  So, open the App Store and check the updates tab.

  • A question with the option "check all the boxes."

    Is it possible to use advanced actions to create a custom where question the following may occur:

    1. users can "see all that apply" to a matter of choice mulitple (3 responses)
    2. have a comment box if all selected users boxes - which is the right answer
    3. Another boc feedback if users selected only 1 or 2 boxes.

    I played around with the widget CheckBoxesEnhancded however, the answers to my questions are long and the formatting looks terrible.

    Would propose the widget checkboxes, but apparently you don't like it.

    Another way is to use images of a checkbox control and cover it with a box of click that can trigger a tip action. You will need to show the check mark by this advanced action, assign a value to a variable that is associated with it and the adapted text of legend. This will be a conditional action, since you have to check each time if 1, 2 or marked all of the boxes were correct. Or if you want a submit button, which seems logical, because it allows the user to decide when to enter his answer? In this case the actions triggered by the boxes to click on checkboxes can be standard stock, showing the check mark, assign the value to the corresponding variable, disabling, or hide the click box and rewind the playback head (Assign rdcmndGotoFrame with rdinfoCurrentFrame) so that it will not continue on the timeline. If you want to allow the user to disable the checkbox, it should be a conditional action because in this case, you will hide the check mark yet once if she was already there (variable value) and do not need to disable the click box. The point of suspension of the Submit button should be later than ellipsis boxes to click. The Send button will trigger an advanced condtional verifies that the text caption should be made visible.

  • Version 3.6.23 and page tells me to update, but clicking the link provides no update options and ' check for updates ' tells me there is none

    This is the link that is provided on the help page:

    ATTENTION: Is maintained only Firefox 3.6 with security and updates of stability for a short period of time. Please upgrade to the latest version of Firefox.

    It's page, need me to, and I can't find information about how upgrade to one later version other than "check for updates" in the menu options, which does not (I'm told that there is none and that Firefox will periodically check the updates)

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/updating%20firefox

    The current plan is to start offering updates of Firefox 7 for current users of Firefox 3.6 within this week. For now, just 3.6 users get updates minor 3.6.x. If you want to install the latest version now, you can simply download and install from Mozilla.com.

  • This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system (Code 12)

    Guys, I have a problem. So, my laptop has 2 graphics cards, an integrated course of the Intel HD graphics (which works perfectly) and the other being the dedicated Nvidia graphics (Nvidia GeForce 940 m). Until 2 days ago, everything was going well and running.

    I have the application experience GeForce and it prompted me that there is a new driver update should I download. He started to install then after rebooting to complete the installation, it failed. I checked my device manager and saw a yellow exclamation under under my Nvidia graphics card (remember, my laptop has two graphics cards: Nvidia graphics card and Intel HD graphics that works correctly). I immediately checked the details, and he said:

    "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) »

    "If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."

    This seemed very strange, because it was LITERALLY working properly before I was invited about update driver I got, so I don't know what to do - as a matter of fact, literally, I finished this game, Deadpool, with my Nvidia card that I put as the default graphics card, a few hours before , so I don't know why this happened. Any help? I'm looking for a logical answer to this, guys!

    Additional information:

    A few days before this happened, I went to my store local pc and installed an extra 4 gigs of ram on my 4 existing to make 8. Don't know if it's useful, but anyway

    If I pick up my laptop and shake it side by side, I hear a slight rattling noise, and it seems a little loose (I found this out after seeing the error message). The noise seems to come from just below the middle of my keyboard (I'm using a laptop). If for some reason, my Nvidia card is loose? Is this possible?

    I am quite technologically inclined, but not to the extent of removing components and reconstruction cell phones / pc and access the bios and what not. I can only remove/add ram.

    I want to know if its something I am able to fix it because I do not necessarily want to go running and sending my laptop places - only my pc up shop.

    Here is the location of my Nvidia card: PCI Slot 4 (PCI bus 4, device 0, function 0)

    My specs:

    Acer TravelMate p257-MG

    Windows 7 business

    Intel core i5-5200u 2.20 GHz 2.20 Ghz processor

    8.00 GB of ram

    64-bit operating system

    1 t hard drive

    940 m Intel HD graphics 5500 & Nvidia Geforce card

    Just to recap, I get the error on my Nvidia graphics card code, "this device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) ""If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. »

    Thanks in advance!

    I'm not quite sure what s wrong with your system, but by the function key F4 (or FN + F4) it of possible to switch between the external and internal display.

    From my point of few this message could be linked to the support of flash memory card utility that displays the menu of function keys on the screen.

    On the other hand, you can go from internal display to the projector connected using the Win + p key.

    I recommend the options mentioned for verification.

  • Need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for users on a Remote Desktop Session.

    Hello
    I need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for any user that connects to an RDS Server. I messed up the mozilla.cfg and created an autoconfig.js file. I guess I'm missing something along the way.

    This is currently my autoconfig.js
    Pref ("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    Pref ("general.config.obscure_value", 1);
    Pref ("app.update.channel", "liberation");

    Mozilla.cfg
    Smooth Scrolling disabled
    lockpref ("general.smoothScroll.disabled", true);
    disables hardware acceleration
    lockPref ("layers.acceleration.disabled", true);
    lockPref ("gfx.direct2d.disabled", true);

    All that I'm missing? When I restart the two options are always checked in the options.

    Thank you!!

    Hi b1gt3x, you use a clear cfg file, you'll want to put this in your instead of autoconfig.js:

    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

    In addition, you will have to make lockPref with a capital P in any case - that it reacts very sensitive to spelling errors...
