need to reinstall Photoshop CS2 but it can not find a previously installed version so will not reinstall

Photoshop CS2 told me there was a 'major problem' and that I needed to reinstall the software to continue using it.

So I used the installation CD, but he told me that he could not install because there was already a copy installed, which should be deleted.

So I removed the old version and tried to reinstall, but now he tells me he needs a previously installed version to reinstall.

"Customer service" Adobe cat is 100% useless thereon, referred me to the # 800, been waiting for more than 45 miinutes now and found none of the relevant topics on the forums of 'help '.

For a multi-billion dollar monopoly, you would think they could hire a few customer service representatives, but I guess that's all the DIY 'support' here, if anyone can help?

Into force on 13 December, Adobe disabled the activation server of CS2 and Acrobat 7 products due to a technical problem. These products have been released more than 7 years ago and do not run several modern operating systems. But to ensure that all customers activating these older versions can continue to use their software, we have published a serial number directly to customers.  While this could be interpreted as Adobe give free software, we have to help our customers.
