You said that you add the printer via the Control Panel, I have the impression that you choose "Add Printer" at the top of the printers and devices window. You have the full feature software and driver installed? If no please use the HP Print installation wizard. The software will help the driver keep a continuous connection. If di you already have the software installed, please remove the printer and printers and add the printer using the installation of HP and the software program.

  To open the Setup and the software, press the Windows Logo key to get to the boot screen and without clicking anything that this type, CV. Then click on the printer icon.
