  Yes, you can buy a different manufacturing HARD disk, but you should take a look at the size of the HARD drive. As far as I know the unit supports max 30 GB HDD with 4,200 RPM

  As far as I know, this unit was delivered with a NVIDIA GeForce4 420Go 32 MB graphics card.

  As already indicated on your first visit to thread the Toshiba Canada page and choose this model of laptop on the driver page.

  Then download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (SATA) - image of floppy drive. It of for Vista, but the files in this package should work with Win XP too.
  Include these files using nLite to create the new disk Win XP that contains SATA drivers.

  Finally use this disk to start.

  Believe me you don t need all SATA drivers but only the Director of Intel Matrix Storage Manager.

  Unfortunately, I didn't find any useful information this disc may be compatible with your laptop.

  I found the compatible reader preinstalled on my laptop user manual.

  SATA controller having no physical limit, you should be able to use any HARD drive 2.5 SATA. So, for example, a 500 GB 2.5 SATA 5400 RPM HARD drive should be compatible.
