NEITHER 9219 variable excitement?

Hello

I have a NOR cDAQ-9174 with three connected modules: 9219, 9263, 9211.

I like the excitement of the output of the 9219 control power source. I would like to firstly the exodus between 0 and 2.5 V, but everytime I try it gives me an error and allows me only to 2.5 (in half-bridge or full-bridge mode).

Any ideas?

Hello

The info is limited so far, it seems that you plan to use excitement 9219 alone to control another 3rd device. This isn't the intended use of the 9219, and it might be difficult to do. It also seems you want to excite the 3rd unit (power supply) at different levels of tension between 0V and 2.5V. This unit can provide only levels of excitement very limited at discrete intervals as seen on page 31 of the user manual.  These apply for certain types of tasks. I suspect that another device as for example analog output module or other device would be the best in this application.

In summary: It seems that this is beyond the scope of this device. Other devices of the C-series would be more appropriate. More information would be useful to determine the best route to take from here.

  • NEITHER 9219 fully supported on the RIO MXI-Express?

I'm trying to choose for my RIO MXI-Express chassis cRIO modules and I fell on the NI 9219 universal module.  While reading the user guide, I noticed that it is said in two separate sections as the 'Digital mode' and "Mode of Contact open' is 'supported only in CompactRIO systems." As I don't have the actual hardware for me to test, I created a LabVIEW project using the FPGA Wizard and he had to instantiate a chassis of RIO MXI-Express (NI 9159) connected directly under 'my computer '.  I then load a NI 9219 module and set 0 "Digital In" mode and Channel 1 channel mode "open Contact".   After that I dragged & filed two channel nodes in my block diagram and I was happy to see that the LabVIEW compiler thinks that everything is OK.

So my question is, whenever I read "is supported only on the CompactRIO systems" does also include MXI-Express RIO systems as well?  If so, it seems that some documentation for cRIO modules should be updated.

    Hi SeanDonner,

Yes, the RIO MXI-Express is deemed part of the cRIO system.  In addition, for lovers of the future forum, the chassis Ethernet RIO and EtherCAT RIO are also part of the cRIO system.

  • NEITHER 9237 external excitement - VeriStand 2013 SP1

The voltage recommended for my pressure is + 10 VDC sensors. I prefer to use external excitation according to the NI 9237 manual, total power to the module is limited to 150 mW, which in my case is "four bridges complete 350 ohm at 3.3 V. (I'll use pressure transducers (4) 350 ohm full bridge). I use scanning for EtherCat engine and the NI 9237 in a chassis 9144 OR connected to a cRIO-9081. For troubleshooting, I have two transducers on a pressure calibrator and another RJ50 connection a NI 9949 escape. If I select "External excitement" and have my power supply of 10 V connected to the bass + EX, EX-connecteur, I get an invalid value for my pressure sensor. It is after the scaling of the calibration value. The gross value is also incorrect. If I let the value "External excitement" but shoot the EX +, EX-connecteur, the EX +, EX-tension (pins 6 & 7) will go to 4.735 V and I'll get a CORRECT pressure reading. If I select an internal 3.3V excitement, I'll get a statement of the correct pressure, but I am a little concerned about the resolution that recommended excitement is + 10 VDC for the pressure transducers. My question is: Why can't I use the external excitement? I have another application with a chassis PXI and EtherCAT and it works OK. I also tried to place a NI 9237 module in the chassis cRIO-9081 and get the same invalid value that I describe above.

You have the latest version of the scanning engine and EtherCAT custom device? On the community page for this custom device, the last listed specifically done bug fix reference to this module. There is also a specific forum for this custom device which may be a good idea to post on as well if you have not already posted here about this problem.

  • Run an application of LabVIEW 8.6 in win 7 (using the cDAQ-9172, 9219, 9422)

    Hello.

I did a LabVIEW application for a few years. At that time, I used windows XP and labview 8.6. The material used is the cDAQ-9172, with NEITHER-9219 (reading of four strain gage sensors) and a NOR-9422 (using only a single input frequency).

First of all, can I install my old version of labview 8.6 in my 64-bit computer to windows 7? I got an error message when I tried...

Second, how much should I install? My old computer was slower after you install labview with its pilots. Perhaps I installed too much? Do I have to install 1, 5 GB DAQmx drivers?

If I need a new version of labview for win 7, how much is an update?

    Thank you!

    Hello

First version of LabVIEW which is supported on Windows 7 is LabVIEW 2009 SP1.

Regarding the drivers, if you want to develop or run VI:s in LabVIEW with the DAQmx API, then you must install the full DAQmx driver.

If you only meet built executable in the LabVIEW environment to run, then you just DAQmx Base Runtime.

If you also want to be able to configure the data acquisition equipment (to the MAX) in a runtime environment, you should also Configuration DAQmx execution.

  • Deployment of TestStand asking Veristand

    Hello

I'm trying to deploy a Teststand system. Usually, I try to install with all the necessary drivers test computers before hand, but this time I need to create a full installation package.

The components that I need to install are:

    TestStand TERM 2014

    Runtime LabVIEW 2015 (32 bit)

    DAQmx run-time engine

    VISA run-time engine

When I select the addiational components a few ones are selected as well.

Some modules of LabWindows/CVI runtime (Teststand seems to need them)

Performance of PXI Platform Services (DAQmx seems to need)

NEITHER engine VAriable 2015 (Teststand seems to need)

A couple of them seems a little weird but of course, no problem.

I plugged my USB with the software bundle 2015 he asks.

But now he also asks me for multimedia path NI Veristand 2015. It is not included on my USB drive apparently have, but even if that were the case, why a deployment using standard drivers and LabView Teststand should Veristand installation media?

TestStand deployment is a little tricky with even with the new versions, but that's all just ridiculous.

Someone at - it had the same problem and if so, how do solve you?

    Best regards

    Nimgaard

    Hi Nimgaard,

It is possible that on your development system, one of the required common components was originally installed in the media Veristand.  for this reason, the framework of the installation program will ask you the mdeia where the product has been installed from.  Part of the Setup program does include that which is indicated on the installation in TestStand Deployment Utility dialog box, i.e. the products you select and all dependencies of these products.  If you do not have media veristand, you can download it from the Web site of OR here:

  • DSC: Connection to the 3rd party OPC Server

I had this work with LabVIEW 2011 and Win XP...  After update I can't make it work...   Now with LabVIEW 2012 and Win 7, the server is now upgraded to Win 7 system.

I'm reading a commercial server OPC of Yokogawa variables.  I can connect to the server.  I can see the variables and create a related shared variable.  But when I access the variable fails.

    Dave,

My problem is very basic.  Go to the administrator in the 'control panel' the instructions say.  It does not exist in Windows 7.  I'm stuck.  Here is the complete procedure as given by the very useful Dylan Caswell.

Here are the instructions for Windows 7 (I'll put this on the forum so that others can see or change the KB if it works)

    1. press on the Start button and Type: Component Services
    2. click on "Component Services" under programs
    3. in the left Section of "Component Services" expand: ' Component Services > computers > my computer > DCOM Config.

    4. search for the name of your OPC Server (in your case should be in the sense of: "Yokogawa Exaopc Data Access Server")
4A (not sure if this is necessary, but I also repeated for the other server "Yokogawa Exaopc data access server OPC Link1")
    5. right click and select properties of your OPC Server

    6. click on the identity of the Properties window tab
    7. Select "interactive user."
    8. click OK, and then restart the computer

This does not solve the problem, so I went to the second stage.

If this does not work, let's try the other method, as described in the KB but for Windows 7:

    1. press on the Start button and Type: Services
    2. Select 'Services' under programs
    3. in the right part of the window, sort by name by clicking on the 'Name' column, and then select: NEITHER engine Variable
    4. right click NI Variable engine and go to properties
    5. Select the log tab, click this account:
    6. Select an account that is an administrator
    7. Select OK and restart the computer.

There is a 'right click' option to stop and start the service.  I don't reboot but simply stopped the service, numbered 5 and restarted the service.

Immediately my VI running began to show valid numbers!

  • With the help of a NO-9401 read the angular Position and trigger a reading I

    Hi all

I am writing some software dependent vs angle chart and to the monitor when the buttons are pressed.  The software allows all DAQ lines to be configured so that multiple configurations data acquisition can be used.

Currently, I peut use my NOR-9411 read the angular position of my quadurature encoder and trigger the playback of my entry (measured with a NEITHER-9219 or 9237) load on a rising edge of A or B input terminal analog.  Also, I can configure the software to do the same thing with a card OR-6259.

My problem is that when I switch to a NO-9401 to read my meter task, I can no longer use the input terminals A or B to trigger my analog input.  I get error-200414 saying that the entry A (PFI0) is an invalid clock source.

I know that the 9401 is configurable by nibble for input/output lines0:3 and 4:7, but how that affects the ability of a trigger, a route line PFI?

Measurement and Automation Explorer shows it as an acceptable way of PFI0 AI/StartTrigger and AI/SampleClock.

I joined the my code section that defines the tasks and that causes the error.  You take a look in the Utilities folder and open the Tasks.vi create.

I am writing in LabVIEW 2011.

  • Cannot change current excitation on NI 9219 - alternative?

    Hello

We have a NI 9219 module and we are trying to measure a temperature sensor.

Until approximately 268 * C, it works perfectly, but when you do that, the temperature begins to drop even if it should continue to increase!

After I revisited the Datasheet, I saw on page 6 with excitation of 0, 5mA sensor will diminish its value when it exceeds 270.

Even if this is correct, it will not work for our application, so I tried to change the excitation current, but it gives me just a mistake.

It is excist I can use instead of the 9219 so that I can change the current of my 1 or 2, or is it simply not possible to make this measure with equipment OR another module?

Any help would be greatly appreciated here!

    Best regards

    Trond

    Hey Trond

    9219 module gives a voltage constant and just excitement, I felt that it would be a current<0.9mA for="" your="" sensor,="" which="" is="" also="" the="" maximum="" the="" 9219="" can="">

The simplest solution would be to use a module output current as 9265 to provide power to your sensor and continue to use the 9219 read the voltage drop across the sensor.

  • Need help with measurement excitation current OR 9219 Module

    Hello

I have problems to find the answer to my question.  My question is...  How do you analyze the excitation of a 9219 module current?  It seems that the excitation current which is specified (0.0005 (A) is not what is provided at the exit.  With a load of KOhm 10.5 a 0.00025 current is output.  As the resistance changes as the current and measured excitation voltage seems to change.  I just need to know the resistance... So, if I can monitor the voltage and current I can calculate the resistace.  BTW, why don't the current excitement remains fixed in the first place?

    Thank you

    Nate

    Hi Nate-

In almost all modes of the 9219, the current and the voltage automatically adjusts to the load it experiences.  The resistance is then measured according to the amount of current and voltage sunk by the load.  This is explained in 9219 User Guide and specifications.  The guide also States the the 9219 input impedance according to which mode it is.

I hope this helps.  Good luck with your application!

  • With the help of external excitation of load cell 9219

I want to use 9219 to assess the load cells.

Internal excitement for 9219 is not sufficient for my application, this device can be used with an external excitation source?

If Yes is it as simple as cross the bridge of load cell using the external voltage and the output of the bridge on the 9219?

Power max would be approximately 20 mV.

Then the 9237 is probably your best choice. For this voltage, you will need to use an external source.

  • Error creating installation: NEITHER Variable Manager CDK_Validate_DistParts_2010.vi

    Hi all

I try to create an application installer and received the following error:

The following products are not found on the system or have been improved:

    Variable Manager OR

    CDK_Build_Invoke.VI.ProxyCaller > CDK_Build_Invoke.vi > CDK_Engine_Main.vi > IB_MSI.lvclass:Build.vi > IB_MSI.lvclass:Engine_PreBuild.vi > CDK_Validate_DistParts_2010.vi

My application has been upgraded to LV2009 and the .exe built without any drama.

I have created an absurd project with a Boolean simple flashing and successfully created an installer for it.  So, the basics are ok.

The statement is quite simple.  Download NI Variable elements runtime feeder.

The hardest part is - how?

    Any suggestions appreciated

    Timmar,

    Is this an older application?

Before LabVIEW 8.6, there was a manager of Variable NOR, but it has since been replaced by the Distributed System Manager.

If you program was built using variables shared before 8.6, LabVIEW from could still try to use this API.

Try a massive compilation of your project: mass compilation screws
