NEITHER 9229 Offset &; precision
Hello
I use a module NI 9229 in cRIO application and I try to measure the voltage across shunt resistance. The 750uV = 1 a. With 24-bit the 9229 must be precise to ~ 7uV (120 /(2^24).
I'm putting a meter between terminals on the 9229 to which is connected the shunt and read a constant 1.15mV. I do not understand this value read from the FPGA code. Attached is an Excel file log entry reads (which have been verified to 1.15mV). As you can see he's dancing around between 0.00290679931640625v and 0.00153350830078125V. I should be around 0.00115000000000000V.
In the specifications - http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372263a.pdf -, it indicates an error of ±7.66 mV offset - but I guess that remain constant and does not change between the readings.
Where should I look to reduce the error between the terminals on the 9229 and values that come out as a value of the FPGA code FXP?
See you soon

The calculation that show you is for the resolution, not precision. The resolution is the smallest change that the module can scan. Accuracy is how close to the real value every measured point is. In order to calculate the accuracy, you will need to use the table on page 20 of the Instructions of operation & specs. The precise formula is:
Precision = (Gain error * reading) + (error offset * range)
For environments that fall within ±5 ° C 25 ° c, the NI 9229 module has a Gain of 0.03% error and a shift of 0,008% error. The reading is the value that you want to read and the range is 10.52V. The follow-up table is an example of the above calculation:
Reading | Precision (±) | ||
0 | mV | 0.8416 | mV |
1 | mV | 0.8419 | mV |
10 | mV | 0.8446 | mV |
100 | mV | 0.8716 | mV |
1 | V | 0.0011416 | V |
10 | V | 0.0038416 | V |
It seems that the values displayed are different in the mV of ±0.84 expected.
Kind regards

NEITHER USB 6008 voltage offset using CSR and measurement of diff.
Hi all
I am currently trying the NI USB 6008 housing and I'm getting problems when reading voltage analog using CSR or differential.
So basically, what I want to measure is a PWM signal (0 to 12V), which is divided by a divisor of tension (by two). But instead of measured 0V and 6V
I am in a position a constant 0.8V and approximately 3V.
On the side of digital data acquisition, I give you on impulses for the SSR... and it works fine.
I connect it that way: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/95CC0CB11D7DF3D18625712E000C4ABD?OpenDocument
Would apreciate any help

What is the impedance of your voltage divider? The input of the USB-6008 impedance is not very high. If the impedance of the partition is large, it could cause the effect you see.

Calibration frequency Offset transmitter and receiver with USRP® material
Hello everyone, I read the scripts provided by The Mathworks on the frequency of calibration offset transmitter and receiver with USRP.
The USRP® transmitter sends a sinusoidal signal at 100 Hz with the MATLAB, sdruFrequencyCalibrationTransmitter.mscript, the USRP® receiver. The USRP® receiver monitors the signals, calculates the transceiver frequency shift and displays in the command window MATLAB for calibration with the MATLAB script, sdruFrequencyCalibrationReceiver.m. At the level of the receiver, frequency offset will be calculated and displayed in the command window. The program uses a Spectrum Analyzer to show the spectrum of the received signal. In the program, the corresponding sentense is '% display frequency spectrum. step (hSpectrumAnalyzer, rxSig); "Based on that, I thought that the spectrum analyzer would show the spectrum of the received signal. However, the Web site corresponding site shows "to compensate for a shift in frequency of transmitter/receiver, add frequency offset on the Central frequency of the receiver object SDRu system. Be sure to use the sign of the offset of your addition. Once you have done this, the spectrum displayed by the Analyzer of spectrum of the receiver system object must have its maximum amplitude at about 0 Hz." What I'm confused is, why the Spectrum Analyzer should have its maximum amplitude at about 0 Hz, not other values? Is it because of the characteristics of the USRP itself or the Analyzer of spectrum shows is the value of the difference between the Tx and the Rx after calibration? I use neither-USRP 2920. Your response will be much appreciated! Thank you!
The matlab mfile is found in the following links:

About precision (NI 9216 &; NI 9217)
Gurus,
I'll have a test machine custom built by an outside company that is to include a cRIO OR with a few different DAQ modules; including 9216 NI and NI 9217 RTD modules. Our requirements of uncertainty (accuracy) for measurements of air temperature and liquid (RTD) are and 0.15 ° C 0.2 ° C, respectively. After looking at the technical details of these modules, I'm afraid they will show the temperature of 0.15 ° C justesses for the single module (4-wire mode). This seems to leave no room for uncertainty of RTD himself. I guess we have to take into account the error of stacking between the sensor itself and the data acquisition module. I am wrong in my reasoning, is there a DAQ card more specifies who may be specified, or are we simply not be able to meet the requirement of precision specified? Thanks in advance for any idea that you all have.
Hello ckc8302,
Thanks for posting your question because it always a good idea to ask and make sure that the devices meet the specifications.
Looking through the sheets of these two devices, it seems that the modules themselves will not be able to meet your specifications.

NEITHER 9217 Factsheet - http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374187a_02.pdf
In addition, I already tried searching throug our other c series modules and other materials listed in section below.

The article also lists the 9226 and the 9219, but the two still do not seem to meet him your spec.
It seems that the only capable card would be NEITHER SMU-4357, but at this point, you may need to revise your system configuration.

Generate intervals of reactivation of precision using PCI-6602 software?
I use NEITHER-DAQmx in Visual Studio 2005 C++ under Windows XP.
I'm NOT using LabView.
I make an executable with high process priority and wish to have a real-time thread to wake up at time intervals of precision.
Currently, the time interval is 0.1 s (10 Hz).
I'd like the alarm clock to have low jitter, a few dozen microseconds or better.
Currently, I use a hack of previous work, generating a pulse with a period of 0.1 sec on a counter and wiring it in another counter to measure.
I use the DAQmxReadCounterU32() function with a value of 2 seconds of pause timeout and then reactivate my phone once the measurement is complete.
This "works" but the jitter is terrible: up to as much as 15 milliseconds for a freshly booted PC and 2 milliseconds after I enabled the features of multimedia timer.
What I want is just DAQmx function returns control to my request immediately after a break timer with optional output wiring of this impulse to timer.
So, how can I do this?
I came across a good solution.
I created a task to count the 10 Hz amounting to inheriting from the ctr edges 4.
This 10 Hz pulse is generated by another task on ctr 6 and is connected to the door of the ctr of 4.
But then, the trick is to synchronize the clock of installation using this same edge sampling:
RV = DAQmxCreateTask("",&taskHandle1);
RV = DAQmxCreateCICountEdgesChan (taskHandle1, "Dev2/ctr4","", DAQmx_Val_Rising, 0, DAQmx_Val_CountUp "");
RV = DAQmxSetCICountEdgesTerm (taskHandle1, "Dev2/ctr4","/ Dev2/PFI22" ');
RV = DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming (taskHandle1, "" / Dev2/Ctr6InternalOutput ", 100.0,")DAQmx_Val_Rising, DAQmx_Val_HWTimedSinglePoint, 1);
RV = DAQmxStartTask (taskHandle1);The thread at the time read real and simple loop indefinitely around the following statement which has a 2 second timeout:
RV = DAQmxReadCounterScalarU32 (taskHandle1, 2.0, data, NULL);
This reading will return immediately after a new rising occurs and then I have another task that switches to a digital output line that allows me to determine latency between the front and my code is activated.
I recorded and plotted a few minutes delay data and see my latency time varies between 50 and 110 microseconds, which I think is as good I'll get here.
See attachment data field.
The other good news about this method is that is uses less than 1% of the time processor.

DASYLab w / support NOR-DAQmx NI 9227, NI 9229 &; cDAQ 9174
I am trying to use DASYLab 11 w / NOR-DAQmx 8.5 to my configuration material of NI 9227, NOR 9229 & cDAQ-9174. After decommissioning of my PC Win7 for XP that takes in charge OR-DAQmx 8.5 (the OR-DAQmx last, supported by 11 DASYLab), I discovered that NEITHER-DAQmx 8.5 does not support the cDAQ 9174. Right now, looks like I'm watered except so use LABView. Is there any other way at this time to use this hardware configuration with DASYLab or any other application?
DASYLab V11 supports Windows 7 when you install the Service Pack (see www.dasylab.com).
Where are we going to say that it does support NOR-DAQmx 8.5? I installed the most recent NI.com last week, and it seems to work very well. I use only simulated devices so far, but DASYLab is data collection and display correctly.

NEITHER 9237 quarter bridge absolute accuracy
Given a NI 9237 bridge completion Module with NI 9944 accessory Terminal strain gauges and 120 ohms with GF = 2.11, how calculate we precision of strain?
I was told that the absolute accuracy for bridges of quarter is given by
Absolute accuracy = (Gain error * reading) + (error offset * range) + noise + half bridge watchkeeping tolerance tolerance.
Since I'm on the NI 9944, watchkeeping tolerance would be 500 uV/V (given by OR R & D). The tolerance of half bridge is given in the manual OR 9237 being 1.2 mV/V.
(1) it has no value of 'Noise' of entry for bridges on watch in the NI 9237 manual; We use only the sound of half-bridge?
(2) if I use a sample rate of 1,613 kech. / s (the rate guaranteed valid sampling for the NI 9237 module) and my system is always in his 1st year of use, always is my gain error 0.05%? It is worth noting that 0.05% applies to the 50 kech. / s ; If the gain error does not apply to my low sampling frequency, how can I find the error of gain?
(3) if my maximum/minimum deformation measures around 600 EU (microstrains), how can I change my values "Reading" and "Range" in the equation for absolute accuracy above, if they need to be adjusted?
(4) why the absolute accuracy for a quarter-bridge set up does not include the half bridge tolerance?
(5) is the equation for the conversion of precision of voltage precision for quarter of a bridge, of the strain , where U is the precision of the voltage given by the equation of absolute accuracy above.
Example of calculation using the values assumed for quarter-bridge:
Error error/gain Offset = 0.05%
Reading distance / = 25 mV/V
Half bridge noise = 1.6 mV/V * 3
Half bridge tolerance = 1.2 mV/V
Tolerance of watchkeeping = 500 uV/V
Absolute accuracy = (V/V 0.0005*.025) + (0.0005*.025 V/V) + ((1.6e-6) * 3 V/V) + (1.2e - 3 V/V) + (500-6 V/V) = 25 mV/V +/-1.73 mV/V
Accuracy of the strain =-4(V/Vex) / GF (1 + 4 (V/Vex)) = - 4 * (25 mV/V +/-1.73 mV/V) / (2.11) * (1 + 4 * (25 mV/V +/-1.73 mV/V))
How to simplify this precision of strain to get a reading + / range of precision?
Thanks for any help.
This applies at a rate of 50 kech. / s. lower data rate can have up to 0.20% gain additional error reading. This can be found on page 24 the unit operating instructions and specifications document
You get to know how to calculate what percentage of Reading (Gain error) I'd get according to what sampling frequency use? Otherwise, I guess I could use the error of gain of 0.20% in the worst case scenario.
Yes, I so calculate the error of Gain for the worst case scenario (0.2%)
(5) is the equation for the conversion of precision of voltage precision for quarter of a bridge, of the strain , where U is the precision of the voltage given by the equation of absolute accuracy above.
Yes, I think it's the correct equation.
It is more a matter of math - since you will be in the form of a reading + / a range (for example 25 mV/V +/-1.73 mV/V), do you know how I simplify or interpret the accuracy of strain after its replacement by the U-value?
Accuracy of the strain =-4(V/Vex) / GF (1 + 4 (V/Vex)) = - 4 * (25 mV/V +/-1.73 mV/V) / (2.11) * (1 + 4 * (25 mV/V +/-1.73 mV/V))
Just reuse the worst cases to calculate positive and negative values on 1.73mV.

Hello
I just have a question. How the ni9263 and neither 9269 could have the same number of bits (n = 16), the same level of voltage (+/-10 v) and a different precision (9263: 0.11V / 9269: 0.006V)?
I think that the accuracy of the signal depends on the resolution and the resolution = V/2 ^ n. Now why precision is different?
Thank you
concerning
If you have discovered that the number of bits does not tell you everything
The resolution of the DAC is not everything. He needs of the CCIP, a reference source (build - in or external), a power supply and amplifier, all rely on a PCB in a box.
Each part plays a role to uncertaincy/precision, common main enemies are drift (in time and temperature), temperature, humidity... EMC/noise /...
And no wonder... part is about twice the cost of the other.
You can buy a resistance for less than 1 c or > 1000 times this value... the two migth have resistance... Well well, at some point...

Hello
I have 3 questions autour of nor 9205.
1 / I use 9205 to measure a voltage of 5 Volts, and there is a peak level of 15V (trig) under normal conditions of my .it signal. Now, I want to know if this pic can destroy my card because neither 9205 a +/-10V min max level.
2 / How could I configure ni9205 caliber (10V, 5V 1V, 200mV) without fpga tools?
3 / ni9205 has a minimum of +/-200 mV, I want to measure a millitension. What type of card you propose for this?
Thank you
Kind regards!
Hello
To answer your first question, there is a surge protection. (see this link: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374188d.pdf on page 19)
Your module is not destroyed if you apply a voltage lower than 30 V for only the channel.
To configure your module, you can use NO-DAQmx which is the driver for this card for Windows.
What platform do you use with it?
When you install NI-DAQmx, there are some examples that are intalled.
The 9205 could be set up to measure the voltage whose range is +/-200 mv with precision of 0,174 mV. (sse this link: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374188d.pdf page 22)
With this record, you are able to measure the tension between +/-200 mV with a precision of 0,174 mV.
I think that you need not to anothere card unless you want better accuracy.

NOR-USB 9229: How audio signal acquisition?
Hello
It's one of those stupid beginner questions I use a module OR 9229 USB to capture the audio output of my computer line as follows:
-left line-out goes to AI0 +.
-right line output goes to AI1 +.
-land line out of is divided into two and goes to AI0 - and AI1 -.
What is the correct way of wiring?
In case it is, I have (I think) have problems audio signal acquisition. In the Measurement & Automation Explore, I creates a task for the acquisition of voltage AI0 (44100 Hz, etc.) -nothing is displayed on the graph when I run the task! (I have music running on the computer during the measurement) Otherwise, the 9229 flashes green, seems to be ok, auto test work, etc..
Someone has an idea what I am doing wrong?
Thank you!
Hi acgrama,
That sounds like it should give you a signal any (not an empty graph or a flat line at 0 V), but the USB-9229 is not very suitable for audio:
- The USB-9229 to entry level is of +/-60 V. A line level audio signal will use a small fraction of that. Of the USB-9229 precision and plug noise are adequate for your application?
- The USB-9229 can't acquire them exactly 44.1 kech. / s. It supports some 50 kech sampling frequencies. / s divided by a number between 1 and 31, as 50 kech. / s, 25 kech. / s, 16.7 kech. / s and so on. When you specify a sampling clock DAQmx not taking in charge, he is forced to the top supported next, which in this case is 50 kech. / s. (you can read back the SampClk.Rate property to see what DAQmx forced the rate to.) For 44.1 kHz audio to USB-9229, you will need to re - sample the acquired data (which are specific to the programming environment).
Assuming that you're just trying to do it for learning or experimentation, here are a few ideas:
- Is the line connector configured as an output line? Many mothers today have reassignables audio connectors.
- The volume of the source (wave, CD, whatever) high enough?
- On the graph, is scaling auto turned on? If you display data in a table instead, are the numbers exactly 0 or any close?
- The output of the line works if you are connecting to another device that is designed to handle signals to line level?
- If you connect a battery (AA, 9V, whatever) for the USB-9229 instead, read the Max supply voltage?

Precision in the reading of temperature PT100 and Module of NI9219
Hello
I m the temperature reading with a PT100, connected to the NI9219 Module. I put LabVIEW on mode 4 son RTD (PT100 range). I m able to read the weather temperature but I m do not know the right precision s or not. The temperature is between 25.5 and 25.8 ° C. Is this possible? I am able to do something to have more precision?
Thank you in advance,
Claudia
Hi Claudia,.
The specifications for the 9217 provide the absolute measurement accuracy Pt 100 RTD (3 and 4 sons) on page 14, it is not necessary to calculate [1].
Since the 9219 is more flexible in the types of measures that it can bring, absolute accuracy for each use case is not provided. Instead, OR gives error of gain values and offset to be used for the calculation of the absolute accuracy [2].
Follow this logic to calculate the absolute accuracy:
(Absolute accuracy) = (entry reading) * (Gain error + drift in temperature) + (Offset + drift in temperature error)
Reading the line "RTD 4-wire or 3 wire Pt 100" in the table on page 24, the error of gain and offset for a module between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius is ±0, 1% of reading entry for gain and offset sectors ±2400ppm. Drift in temperature comes into play when the module is outside the normal operating temperature, but for Pt 100, gain drift is ±15ppm and the offset of the drift is the ±60ppm (see page 25).
So, for a module at room temperature 23 degrees Celsius and a Pt100 to 100 degrees Celsius using the 505 Ohm input range, the calculation is:
At 100 ° C, the RTD would measure 138.5 Ohms if its temperature coefficient 0,00385 Ohm/Ohm / ° C, then
Absolute accuracy = (138.5 ohms * 0,1%) + (2400 ppm * 505 Ohm)
= 1.212 Ohm + 0,1385 ohm
= 1.3505 ohmsfracture of 0,385 Ohm / ° C, and
Absolute accuracy = ±3, 5 degrees Celsius

Precision T3500 recognizes the new HARD drive
I have a new 4 TB Seagate hard drive that I'm tempted to install than the third HDD on my Dell Precision T3500 system. The BIOS detects the drive fine, but nothing in the operating system (Windows 7 64-bit) find it - no disk, Device Manager or Seagate diagnostic tools management.
Seagate support said the only thing that might be, is that my fast storage Chipset driver needs to be updated. It's a little out of my depth. I tried searching for a driver updated via the Device Manager, but it says my driver is up to date, but that date is 2010. I downloaded these files:
INTEL_RAPID-STORAGE-TECHNOLO_A07_R291721. EXE
SATA_DRVR_WIN_R264763. EXE
on the site of driver from Dell, but I'm not clear what to do with them.
SATA Operation should be AHCI and INTEL RST must be 10.1 or higher. OS must be the 64-bit version, you also need a series of Host Bus Adapter as the Rocket 600. That's what western Digital uses to resolve these problems. ACHI HBA is necessary. The rocket 620 HBA is a solution.

INTEL RST over the 10.1 version is required for larger than 2 TB drives
http://knowledge.Seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/218615en
Like other types of software, the Intel RST drivers are updated to keep pace with new technologies. Intel drivers, found in versions of the retail of Windows 7 have a limit of 2.2 TB. Rather than cutting capacity to 2.2 TB, the limitation is expressed like the rest above 2.2 to. In other words, the driver causes the windows operating to see a 3 TB drive 746.52 GiB (or 800 GB).
With OS two 32-bit, the start address of length and partition partition are stored as 32-bit quantities.
Because the block size is 512 bytes, this means that neither the maximum size of a partition
Neither the maximum start address (both in bytes) can be greater than 2 ^ 32 × 512 bytes, or 2 TiBhttp://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/hardware/gg463525.aspx
The GUID (GPT) Partition Table has been introduced under the initiative of the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). The maximum size of the partition (disc) is a function of the operating system version. The original version of Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP have a limit of 2 TB per physical disk, including all partitions. For Windows Server 2003 SP1, Windows XP x 64 edition and later versions, the maximum raw score of 18 exabytes may be supported. (Windows file systems are currently limited to 256 terabytes each.)

Wel what EVGA Precision I use for my nvidia gtx 680 and I want to ask how to save profile? There are number 1 to 10, I get down to click on them to save the profile, but it did not work I mean when I put (TARGET power) 100 to 130% or maybe 110% and i and (LAG of CLOCK GPU) (MEM clock offset) and 100-100 and save my profile on 1 and when I create any other profile profile 2 and do the same as the first thing a second 150 + a 150 and a third + 200 and save profile 2 so my two profiles are now saved... then when I click on my profile 1 my TARGET POWE automatically saved on 150% but I saved my target of POWER in profile 1 to 130% not 150% is in profile 2 150%? so I can't save my POWER TARGET? anyone can help and can u give me a detail on how to save the profile correctly?
one more thing, how many fps do I need for oucnter strike 1.6 coz my strike cs too smooth running, I can't focus on the player his patients as... problem with my mouse aim just as the rest is good? so I want to run my cs 1.6 on the lower graph with the help of EVGA Precision may be it will work fine then?
Sorry for my bad English
Tank you? What mouse do you use? Is there software that you can the mouse
create profiles of mouse speed in?
The mouse works well with other games?
If you are wanting to play CS with an old MS Intelli mouse like the pros
You should visit the forums dedicated to CS for more details."It's work, but still relatively smooth.
I'm not really sure what you mean. I guess that your cursor movement
is too fast. It's the first time I saw the orders that you show, but---noforcemaccel - this should clear the acceleration mouse but apparently - noforcemspd - makes the game go back to the desktop mouse speed.
So, if you use the acceleration mouse with your configuration of office mouse the
second command can substitute for the first.
Similarly, if your desktop mouse speed is higher than what you want the
game it can substitute at the speed that you set in the game.
The use of commands like this requires a little experimentation. Perhaps using
noforcemaccel after noforcemspd may work better.Mouse acceleration is good when in Windows but not
so good when playing first person shooter because the movement of the cursor
It accelerates when you move the mouse quickly. If you do not use an old MS Intelli mouse or other mouse without contouring
software, and like us, players not pro, use a mouse with buttons that can
Select the different speeds while playing and has a program with parameters that can
substitute the Windows settings, then you should be able to make a profile when you play CS has no enabled mouse acceleration.
The mouse software then automatically to this profile when you launch CS.
For example, I have a profile for Battlefield Bad Co with three different speed settings that I can change during the game. One is very slow (like the pros) for a specific purpose, the second is a little more quickly to run
but still slow enough to be precise, and the third is very fast, so I can turn the turret tank quickly when you're driving a tank. Also, the mouse acceleration is disabled,
but my normative office has enabled mouse acceleration. If when you say 'little smooth' you mean that it is too slow or lagging while there may be another problem. You might have a speck of dust on the lens on the bottom of the mouse. Tasks of dirt on your mouse pad can also cause shift when the mouse passes over them.
Software conflicts can cause lag as well. Sometimes the lag can be cause of too
higher settings of Anti-aliasing in a game, but that is questionable in you situation that the
GTX680 should have no problem at all with the settings CS running up.

Video driver Windows 10 for Precision M65
Someone at - he found a way in Windows 10 to access the native screen resolution for the M65:
Screen WSXGA (1680 × 1050)
I ignored the warning of incompatibility and installed upgrading Windows 10 Windows 8.1 on my Dell Precision M65 laptop. Windows 10 runs great on it, except that the generic video driver from Microsoft does not offer a choice of the M65 screen native resolution. Dell and say they do not plan to develop compatible drivers for the Quadro FX 350 M from NVidia card on the M65.

Creation of the "walls" quickly and precisely in Illustrator
Hello.
I'm a 3D artist, but recently due to popular demand, I am learning Illustrator for the sole purpose to make floor plans (those colorful artistic), I am very familiar with Photoshop and use it extensively, it would be certainly enough if I wasn't going to print the plans in multiple dimensions, even using smart objects and vectors I don't think Photoshop is the tool for the job.
I downloaded illustrator and so far I'm liking it a lot, I think it's the right tool for the job. However, I couldn't find a quick way to draw the walls with precision.
The biggest problem is that I couldn't find a way to 'offset' paths open quickly... when the way is open, it compensates the lines on both sides, as opposed to the closed roads, the way I found is to use the Scout to split shifts to remove the ones I don't want , but it's a pain, it is better to just draw the sides of the walls separately instead, which is a tedious process too.
I'm looking for simple ways to offset paths open to a specific aspect, or maybe make some traits that are adjacent to the paths, so I can use the tool 'contour Contour"to convert them into 'solid' paths, or another way to get the same result.
I know that Illustrator is no CAD program, but I don't think I asked too much of him.
Thanks in advance.
Way the easiest way is via the width tool.
Just use the width tool and Option/Alt click at the ends of the path and drag the marker width up to the path. This creates the line on one side of the path:
Once you do this, you can save the profile of the race:
Then apply just select the profile in the Panel of the stroke or the control bar.
Illustrator centers inherently strokes on all open paths. There is no other way to offest stroke I know.
